Summary: Worth the money
Review: Okay, I was never a fan of Tim Burton or Johnny Depp. And Christina Ricci? I could only remember her in Addams Family and Casper. Thus, when the preview came for Sleepy Hollow, I thought..mmm...another horror show, and I'm not a fan of this genre of shows. So why did I see the show? Well, I happened to come across "The Making of Sleepy Hollow" on TV and it really came across as being interesting. Consequently, I dragged my reluctant husband (another non-horror fan) to the cinema, and boy, we were pleasantly surprised as the show was great. Johnny Depp really fits into the shoes of Ichabod Crane, being all the more human as he is so funny, particularly when he cringes over a spider, uses his aide (a boy) as cover during his encounter with the old crone, as well as fainting more the the so-called damsel in distress! The overall mood of the show was dark, but the this was relieved by the funny bits coming in. I would say the entire cast including Miranda Richardson and Christopher Lee was good with the exception of Christina Ricci who looked like a teenage and wooden one at that. The special effects? Great! The conclusion..once again, a great show...in fact it was so good that I went to see it a second time (this is only superseded by Phantom Menace which I saw three times! ), this time dragging another reluctant friend who also enjoyed the show.

Summary: One of Burton's better films
Review: Although a big fan of Tim Burton's films, they can lack a strong narrative in some cases. However, Sleepy Hollow has all of his fantastic sense of dark fairytales, silly sense of humour and also a great murder mystery to carry it along. Definately one I'll be watching again and again for these reasons, and the fabulous acting and sets. Buy it now!

Review: THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST FILMS OF 1999. BESIDES STIGMATA WHICH WAS REALLY GREAT TOO. GOOD STORYLINE GOOD FX AND GOOD ACTING. PRETTY SCARY IN SOME PARTS. BEHEADING SCENES WERE TIGHT. HEADLESS HORSEMAN WAS TIGHT. HE'S SO COOL. GO SEE THIS AT THEATRES BEFORE IT COMESOUT ON VIDEO WORTH SEEING MORE THAN A BUNCH A TIMES. GREAT MOVIE. YOU WILL LOVE IT TRUST ME.

Summary: This movie defies all previous known levels of greatness.
Review: This movie is the best! It is so good that I thought that my head would fall off from laughing (Actually, I didn't really think that - I just thought that my head would turn bright red, which it actually did). Although it is VERY funny, it also has serious points too, but none of them have to do with the headless horseman, they are about Ichabod's childhood. Ichabod faints a lot (5 times - I counted) And is afraid of spiders, that makes this movie really funny. Okay, I know what you're thinking, how can someon fainting a lot be funny? Believe me, it can. The heads all do different things when severed from the bodies, one does backflips, and another chases Ichabod. The specail effects are really good. Ichabod gets splattered with blood while openin the tree of the dead. That is a very good part. I would buy the movie if it were only Ichabod opening up the tree of the dead. It would be called, "Ichabod's tree of the dead opening fun". I predict that movie would win a few oscars. Well, for you few peole who managed to read this without skipping to another review because of mine's lenghth and stupidity I want to leave you with these wise words that I'm about to write, "Buy this movie if you want to keep your head" okay, so you will probably keep your head even if you don't buy this book, but you never know.

Summary: Heads will indeed roll...
Review: I saw "Sleepy Hollow" with a big group of giggling friends, so the scare factor was slightly lost on me .. but I still found it to be enjoyable and effective. I am not a Tim Burton fan as such, but I do find his films interesting (and I DID like "Mars Attacks!"), and "Sleepy Hollow" was no exception. The film sets the scene pretty well right from the very beginning with its spooky atmosphere, and wastes no time in getting into the gore of it all. The decaptitations and whatnot are done with a quirky mixture of the gross and the amusing; particularly the scene in which the magistrate's severed head rolls into a rather inconvenient position between Depp's legs (and is then skewered and swept away with a flourish, leading to one of poor Ichabod's first swoons). The plot is fairly predictable in itself, but the film is infused with enough Burtonesque quirkiness to keep you guessing as to just exactly how the end will arrive, and how many chracters will be around to see it. I found Johnny Depp to be excellent in the main role, as can be expected of him. His Ichabod is delightful: bumbling, awkward, scared - but still persistent in his efforts to find the truth. And I found his preciseness and his fainting only made Depp even cuter! Christina Ricci was good, as always - she is one of my favourite young actresses at the moment (and she has my first name, dammit! Someone cool has my first name!)All the supporting cast was good (especially Walken, looking creepier than ever) - though once I'd placed Miranda Richardson from "Blackadder" it became hard not to hear her voice without Rowan Atkinson popping into my mind! The film is not a perfect hit; one of my few quibbles was the old witch's facial acrobatics, which took a great deal of credibility away from her entire scene. Being Burton, also, some of the horror is genuinely disturbing: I found the methodical killing of the family of three, and the scene in which young 'Bod sees his mother tumble out of the Iron Maiden, quite shocking (not to mention bloody Walken!) but fairly in keeping with the plot. The nature of the film means it has to preserve its detached spookiness, ie. never be truly feelgood, but still the resolution of the problem and the surprisingly happy ending set "Sleepy Hollow" apart from the campy, funny-nasty tone of "Mars Attacks!" which did not strike a chord with many. Overall, an enjoyable, funny (especially if accompanied by hyper friends), spooky (erm, even with said pals) film which, though not an instant classic, may very well become a favourite with Burton/Depp aficionados or just ghost-movie fans.

Review: A truly magnificant movie to watch at night; especially at or around Halloween! For those who have seen Sleepy Hollow, you have to agree: the actor chosen to play the Headless Horseman was perfect for the role. If not, watch it and see who it is.

Review: Hello I thought that Sleepy Hllow was a pretty good movie basedon the time it took place. It was actually more funny than scary. Itis the old tale of the headless horseman. Although it is dark humored it is pretty good. I reccomend this to anyone who likes horrors and comedeys.

Review: This movie was exellent. Johnny Depp was a great wimpy hero (if thats possible). not to mention he looked quite nice. anyway, it is one of those movies where you laugh and jump at the same time. It was gory but at the same time it wasn't. It showed heads flying but in a nice way. (if thats possible) definatly 5 stars.

Review: Another masterpiece by Burton. Brilliant casting/acting, excellent f/x and a good cameo by Christopher Walken as the grotesque headless horseman. My only complaint is that scene with the old crone whose eyes came out of her sockets, very unrealistically, but apart from that, a cool horror/fantasy that I will definately buy on video.
