Summary: Very good adaptation of the book, but the ending wasn't good
Review: In this movie, Stephen King has created a monster that is unforgettable. Tim Curry did a wonderful job playing Pennywise the clown. I have to admit I am terrified of clowns, but when I watched this movie I was almost sad because Pennywise was destroyed; he was one of the best villians/monsters in movies. When I watched this I was eight. I wouldn't go out at night because of this movie and even today I am scared of the movie, but it is good because everything was part of a scary atmosphere that Stephen King created, the reason why I gave this a 4 is that I thought the ending of part 2 was stupid, I loved this movie until that, but I still think this movie is one of the greatest horror movies of all time (and I hope it want turn into a movie where the monster always comes back to life over and over again like Jason, or Freddy, or Michael Myers, but the only good movies out of those were the first ones made). I like this movie, it's a very good movie, but I don't recommend it to smaller children. I am actually 14 years old, but I couldn't go to the other review entry, because someone got my e-mail address and is doing some very bad stuff with it and I haven't gotten my new one. ****

Summary: The Book Is Good, But Not The Movie.
Review: There was no further suspense when I was reading Stephen King's 'It'. I was thrilled to death, as I turned each page over. 'It' and again King's 'Pet Cemetery' were the novels of my childhood. I believe these are the few books of King's, where children and teenagers are the characters. Anyway, seeing 'It' sounded great as my expectation was naturally high. But, after I watched the DVD, I realised that watching this movie altered the enchanting effect of the book in my mind.

A distinction between written and visual art should be made. When we read books, especially fiction books, we create images of the characters in our minds. Interestingly enough, no matter how clear and precise can an author's descriptions be, we all form different images. I believe, that was the case, when I watched the movie. The image of the clown in the movie did not reach to my expectations, because as I read the novel I had thought of the clown as the ultimate figure of terror.

The book is a must-be-read book. 'It' is excellent; in my view, the best work of Stephen King. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same things for the movie.

Summary: Tim Curry & The Child Actors Make The Movie
Review: Often Stephen King's books have trouble making the transition to movie format, but I thought this one was very well done. Tim Curry (Pennywise the Dancing Clown) and the many young actors really made this movie great, particularly Jonathan Brandis (young Bill.) I'm sorry I can't say the same for the supposedly more professional and experienced older actors who played the tortured and recently returned to Dairy adults, I just thought they stunk with a capital S.

Summary: It was good
Review: This film had the classic undercurrent so prevalent in Stephen King movies, but maintains greatness. The special effects were lacking, which is understandable, it being not a very new movie. The book was better than the movie, but then, it always is. I thought that Henry Bowers was sadly underdeveloped though.

Summary: good for what it was
Review: This is probably the best book to movie translation out there, however its still not exact, and the book is way too long to make it into a full movie. This movie is also one of the only movies that succesfully makes a clown scary. Most clown horror movies are stupid. Only reasons for not giving it 5 stars: it was too made for tv, and therefore, lacked gore. It was also slow and could have probably been made into a lot shorter of a movie. Some of this is alot of time killing if you ask me.

Summary: It is the one
Review: Stephen King's It is the one for you. It is a must have for your collection. Very true to the book in many respects, It will keep you up at night as the book did. The characters are played in this series just as they are written in the book. While it is true that some liberties were taken with small details, it is also true that the taking of these liberties does not in any way detract from the spirit of the book itself. Indeed, the portrayals of the characters brings a new life to the true horror which the book It inspired in it's readers. the sound is Dolby Stereo, and the commentary seems to have ben cobbled together from two seperate recording sessions, yet, even these factors will NOT detract from your utter delight as you become totally emersed in this wanderfull work of absolute and brilient horror.

Summary: I liked it a lot. : )
Review: This was, without a doubt, one of the most interesting movies I've ever seen...well, the first part that is. It seemed as if Stephen King not only portrayed fantasy scary clowns, but also some issues as well - getting accepted by fellow students, racism, bullies, abusive parents, et. cetera. So it's a pretty topical movie, if you catch my gist. Sure, the clown is a little freaky, but I think that this was definitely a good movie. The young actors did a fine job portraying their characters (even if the adults were a little more than hokey), and they really made this movie seem as good as it was to me. You also got to catch a glimpse of Seth Green's early years on this film, along with Jonathan Brandis. But personally, I really liked Ben Heller, the guy who played the young Stan Uris. I absolutely adored him throughout the movie and was sad when I found out it was his only one. He did a good job, along with all the others.

But yeah, watch this movie. I suggest only the first part, because the second half was a little corny, if not boring. (Giant spider?) Hey, if you want to watch the second half, go ahead, but the first part really is what makes this movie as good as it is.

Summary: Your every fear - all in one deadly enemy.
Review: IT can be anything. A fanged monster that won't stay on the movie screen. Something ominous lurking in the basement. No matter what your biggest fear is, no one knows IT better than Stephen King.
