Summary: Brilliant!
Review: Johnny Depp is brilliant! I consider Sleepy Hollow the best Tim Burton Film ever created. It's original and packed with suspense and gore. I wanted to see Sleepy Hollow in theaters but never got to. If you'r like me (i love horror)I would highly recommend it. Sleepy Hollow rules! Although I do have five words of cation: NOT for the weak-stomached.

Summary: A really entertaining movie. Great to see again and again.
Review: Sleepy Hollow is an excellent movie. Johnny Depp is wonderful and charming with his light touches for comic relief - constant fainting and feeling sick to his stomach. He is perfect as Crane. All the actors did great, especially Christopher Walken as the Headless Horseman. You'll get a kick out of him, great make-up.

This movie has to be one of Tim Burton's best. Nothing like Mars Attacks, which was pretty bad. This is a very sophisticated movie, with a perfect amount of suspension, action, romance, and humor. And the plot takes a nice twist and the mystery behind the Headless Horseman is surprising.

I definitely recommend this movie. It's really entertaining and it appeals to all types. Give this movie a try, you'll like it.

Summary: Wonderfully Spooky
Review: I did not see this movie at the theater mainly because of the hoopla over the amount of "blood" in the movie. (I am easily grossed out.) I must say that I loved the movie and yes, there was blood, but not as much as I thought there would be. I truly enjoyed Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci. They were outstanding and played likable, believable characters with their own neuroses, who were determined to survive the Headless Horseman. Miranda Richardson is as always a delight and easily stole the show. Tim Burton is one of my favorite film-makers and his use of color and lighting (or lack of) sets the stage perfectly. The setting and scenery were again perfection. The behind-the-scenes portion of the DVD was well done and a great addition to an already fantastic movie. If you are squeamish like me, you can probably deal with this film. Regardless, it is an excellent adaptation of an American classic and an ideal movie to play at Halloween.

Summary: Brilliant and macabre - first rate film making
Review: This is Tim Burton's best film to date - all of his macabre and funny observations on myth and human nature culminate in this slightly altered version of Irving's timeless horror classic. The ensemble work is exceptional. The cinematography, art direction, editing, score and sound are superlative throughout and make for a seamless and brilliant roller coaster ride through a nightmare world. Oscar noms went to the Cinematography and Costume Design and the Art Direction deservedly ended up in the winner's circle but how coud the Academy ignore that brilliant score and that extraordinary editing? This is just as good as it gets - very highly recommended.

Summary: Classic
Review: First off I think this is one of Tim Burton's best movies ever. Don't get me wrong, I loved Batman, Edward Scissorhands, and the rest of them, but this film blew my mind.

The casting was excellent. Johnny Depp did an amazing job of creating a new Ichabod Crane. He had that unmatchable mix of nervousness and wit. Christina Ricci matched the voluptous Katrina Van Tassel head to toe, I felt like I was watching the cartoon. Ray Park was an excellent headless horseman, along with the role of Darth Maul (Star Wars:Episode One) under his belt he has proven to be the most admired villain there is, atleast from my point of view.

What really made this movie was the score. Danny Elfman, collaborated an amazing score, that made the movie ten times more scary. I've always admired Danny's ability to be able to know what the audience needs to hear at a certain point in a movie. Sleepy Hollow had points in it when you're expecting bone chilling music, and you don't hear, and it makes everything better, because you don't know what to expect.

Tim Burton's reunion with Danny Elfman, and Johnny Depp ,makes Sleepy Hollow a must see for all Burton fans.

Summary: Five Stars...Two Thumbs Up
Review: This film is one of the best I've seen in a real long while. All I could think of while watching this...was the cartoon usually shown on Halloween on Disney......Sleepy Hollow is a great movie....good job Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci....(Hey, isn't 'Brom' that guy from Starship Poopers? ) Any film with Christopher Walken will be a classic....that goes without saying....a classic film....no cheese found here, except maybe that Starship Pooper's/Luke Skywalker wannabe guy....the friendly ghost Caspar Wuttzisface...........I could watch this again and again....not get bored!

Summary: Sleepy Hollow- Amazing
Review: Totaly amazing. With excelent special effects, and great acting, this movie goes strait to the top of my list. The plot was well layed out, and organized. The movie itself was almost in black and white with just enough color to realize that it's not. Some may think this is a lame effect, but it really adds to the scenes. There was plenty of suspence, and horror. There was barily any dull scenes. The actors were really belevable in their roles. You almost feel as if you are there in 1790 with them. A great movie if your looking for something to keep you on the edge of your seat. I would recomend this to anyone above 13-14 years old. There's really not that much to make it rated R.

Summary: A revamped telling of an old story.
Review: I really wanted to see this film on the big screen while it was playing in theatres, but unfortunately I never got the chance, but I do think the DVD version is about as close as you can get.

Since I was a kid I had always loved the story of the Headless Horseman and Ichabod Crane. I remember sitting in front of the television around Holloween watching the cartoon version featuring the voice of Bing Crosby. Tim Burton however brings a very different look and feel to the story of "Sleepy Hollow". As with all of his films "Sleepy Hollow" is a very dark ( i.e. Batman & Batman Returns) and visually rich film. In this version Ichabod Crane is a constable from New York instead of a schoolteacher, and he has been sent to the village of Sleepy Hollow to investigate the decapitations of two of villages residents. At its core "Sleepy Hollow" is a murder mystery. Admittedly not your typical mystery, but it really works.

Johnny Depp stars as the reluctant hero trying debunk the legend of the Horseman by explaining things through scientific techniques. He falls in love with the daughter of the towns' leaders, and soon enlists her help in getting to the bottom of the grizzly murders. Though Depp has made a career of playing the offbeat character, he really comes through with a terrific performance as the young detective struggling with what he sees and what he thinks to be true. The supporting cast around Depp is wonderful, and full of people you recognize but don't really know. I love Burton's use of color, and the way he makes everything look so dreary. His depiction of turn of the century New England is fascinating and the look and costumes of the townspeople are also top notch. I also applaud the casting of Christopher Walken in the role of the Horseman with a head. Walken always brings some little something extra to any character he plays, especially the evil ones. The scenes in which the Horseman reeks havoc on the town are really exciting and well choreographed. The headless black figure on the enormous black stallion is quite a site, and looks real enough.

At times "Sleepy Hollow" tends to be a bit too gory, and spills a bit more blood than needed to make it's point, but it is usually essential to the story. I found myself wanting to like this movie, and maybe that's why I did, but I think this version of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow is definitely worth a look. The visual and special effects alone are really worth watching the film for. I don't know that this is a movie I would watch over and over, but I wouldn't mind having it to watch around Holloween, though it's a far cry from the Bing Crosby version.

Summary: Very well done...and creepy!
Review: At first I thought this movie was going to be really stupid because I usually don't like anything Tim Burton does (I hated Edward Scissorhands), but I ended up seeing it because I do love Johnny Depp! My friends and I saw this in the theatre, which really adds to the spookiness of the film. The graphics are great in this movie - the headless horseman running around trying to kill everyone - and especially at the ending at the church scene. I thought the movie was scary - had a hard time falling to sleep that night - but then again horror isn't really my favorite. In any consolation, Sleepy Hollow is a great movie.
