Summary: Tim Burton does it again.
Review: Very stylish and quite faithful to the book by Washington Irving. Sleepy Hollow follows the work of an investigator (Johnny Depp) who comes to town to investigate the murders committed by the fabled headless horseman. Tim Burton provides the moody/gothic atmosphere, helped by Danny Elfman's music. Good tribute to the Hammer Horror movies, that Burton grew up watching, and famed horror actor Christopher Lee has a small part in the movie too.

Summary: Do NOT miss this one!
Review: This film is an American horror classic, just like Washington Irving's story. I can't think of anyone better than Tim Burton to do it; and can't think of anyone better than Ray Park to be the stuntman in the costume. In the director's commentary Burton says, "when your character doesn't have a head, you don't have a lot to go on except your ability with swords and axes." That's very true. This movie would be excellent for a Halloween party!

Summary: A Great Movie & A Great DVD!!!!!!!
Review: "Sleepy Hollow" is wonderful on DVD and is a great movie. Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci are wonderful in it. This is probably one of Tim Burton's best. The special effects on this DVD are great. Especially the scene with the windmill. The bonus features are also very good. I suggest for anyone to buy this that likes funny horror films.

Summary: Loved it, But Not For What You May Think!
Review: Ok, I truly loved this movie. It's so excellent, right down to the very last detail. Except for one thing.. why is it that if the main character is paired with a child, the child is never given much credit? The child I'm refering to is Young Masbeth, and he is played by Marc Pickering. He, ladies and gentlemen, is the #1 reason I wanted to see this movie in the first place. He is given very little credit (at least I think so), even though he was in some of the most important scenes in the movie. The backgrounds, excellent. Casting, excellent. Plot, excellent. This *is* a masterpeice (dangit, I don't know if I spelled that right or not). Marc Pickering, if your out there, keep up the good work!! ( :) The reason I adore him so much is, you guessed it, I'm in my early teens. So is he. ::sighs::) The special affects in this movie are great, and Ray Park was very gracefully as the Headless Horsemen. If a follow-up/sequel to this movie is possible, I'd love to see the continueing adventures of our heros.

Summary: Sleepy Hollow Just Woke Up!
Review: From the creator Tim Burton, you should know that this movie is going to be odd. The Classic tail of Sleepy Hollow has been retold in this new updated look at a favorite ghost tale. With a great cast and a great story, the movie really comes to life, or should I say, it rolls some heads? AHAHA..sorry. The special effects in the movie are awesome and the color of the town really makes an atmosphere of death, just how good can Tim Burton get. With many turns and twists and a murder here and there, you won't sleep at this epic movie. You'll find yourself looking for clues and maybe even scream for a little bit. But I can only say that you'll love this movie, it has so much to offer and can appeal to most people, even the love story type of people (yuck). Rent it and if you like it, buy it.

Summary: Ready your barf bag!
Review: It's actually painful to sit through this entire movie. That is, if you're interested in real acting, and not just 'fluffy' special effects (or staring at Christina Ricci). If you like hack and slash, and decapitations, you're in for a treat. Heck, if you call gore entertainment, why not just ask your local butcher if you can spend an afternoon with him? Sickos. Johnny Depp's acting in this film is HORRIBLE to say the least. If this were a virtual reality CD-ROM, where one could "enter" into the world, and actually travel around and explore, that would be great. No doubt the set design was wonderful, costumes, lighting, etc. Superb. But, you may as well have cast muppets to run this show. Sadly, the majority of today's moviegoers have to be dazzled by effects, shocked, and amazed at a movie. Why not just go back to the days of gladiators? Make a fancy pit for people to hack each other up in, and there you go, laser lights, effects, etc. Acting has gone out of the window, and this film shows it. Watch it in black and white, strip away the effects, and you'll see how PITIFUL it really is. *YAWN*

Summary: Fantastic! Destined to be a classic!
Review: While Burton's "Sleepy Hollow" isn't Washington Irvings', the fact is that the movie is simply wonderful. Forget the book for a while and enjoy it. The photography is amazing and the idea of using Ichabod Crane to parody the image of the image of the distant, calculating detective is brillant! The pacing and infusion of comedy makes the entire film a joy to watch. The sequence of the horseman stalking a small child in a home will make you hold your breath. The performances are flawless and the special effects are done to enhance the story line, rather than being an end in themselves. Which is what special effects are supposed to do, in my view. Burton and Depp are a wonderful team together and I hope they do many more projects in the future. :)

Summary: Amazing
Review: A true masterpiece of film making. Only Tim Burton could do this classic tale justice. Christopher Walken's performance as the Hessian Horseman is terrifying. The weak-of-stomach should beware, this film contains 18 graphic decapitations, an impalement, the slaughtering of an entire family, among other sick and twisted themes. But the gore is necessary to prove just how terrifying the Headless Horseman is. Recomended to all!

Summary: Another Tim Burton masterpiece
Review: If you have seen already the Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and Batman, you know what to expect from this film. Those of you who haven't seen any of Tim Burton's great films, you just have to know that he is unique in creating this so special atmosphere, this climate of greyness, blackness, or simply emptiness, a surreal environment which is though so full of mystery and suspens. I know I may not be describing it the best way, but this atmosphere is the best you'll ever experience in a movie of any kind. Including the Sleepy Hollow. The greyness and gloom that surrounds the village, the surreal woods, they're all adding up to what seems to be a simple murder-solving mystery. I was also stunned by the realistic presentation of the Headless Horseman, until I watched the movie-making extra on the DVD, only to find out the obvious, and yet the surprising; the Horseman's head has been "cut off" using computers alone! Add that up with the fact that, not having a face to show, the Horseman actor could rather well be a stunt man very good in handling swords and axes, and you get a wonderfully directed mystery, with great action scenes and an equally satisfactory ending.

Summary: Extremely Pleasant
Review: If you're a HUGE fan of Johnny Depp(such as me) you'll love Sleepy HOllow. You get to see hot Johnny as Ichobod Crane portraits him wonderfully. I have always hated the "real" Ichobod Crane. A slimy, cheating worm with a cowardly heart. To be honest, I was glad he died in Washington Irving's adaption. Johnny brings out a "new" Ichobod Crane in Sleepy Hollow. Still cowardly but cute. And she shows exactly Ichobod Crane opinion, but in a wonderful way that makes you think that he is actually right and there really is no horseman. I also loved the way Tim Burton actually created an ending to the headless horseman tale. I, and anyone who hates an ending that leaves you hanging on what happened to the end, will love how it ends. With and explantion to what the horseman and sleepy hollow where actually about. This is the best movie I've ever seen! I forgot all about the gory junk(and there is quite alot of it) and looked into the real content of the movie. IT WAS WONDERFUL! I really recomend you see SLEEPY HOLLOW!
