Summary: Awesome, thrilling movie
Review: Praises to Tim Robbins and Jeff Bridges for a spectacular performance in the movie. Once again, Robbins steals the stage with his excellent acting abilities. It is nice and refreshing to see Hollywood directing a movie which is so realistic and "close to home"-- something which all of us are capable of experiencing-- the uncomfortable feeling of not knowing who one's neighbor is. This movie shows that an individual cannot trust anybody. From here, a moral can be reaped-- as was stated in Robert Frost's poem, "The Wall," one should build a wall and not cross it.

Summary: Should be rated worst movie of the year.
Review: I've never written a review, but after seeing this movie, I just had to say something about it. This movie attracted me, because I live in the DC area.

Robbins, Bridges and Cusack are all wonderful actors. Robbins acting abilities were great in this film, Bridges is a bit on the wooden side and Joan was wasted since her part is a small one. You see her quite a bit, but the part was minimal compared to the guys.

I kept looking for the character to sympathize with in this movie and there just wasn't one. I didn't like any of them. The photograpy was really bad with a forties feel to it with cheap horror movie shots. The plot would have been a decent plot had the writer presented it with a better story line.

As a rental, at least you are only out a small amount. I do not recommend this movie to anyone for purchase.

Summary: Action filled, great story line. The good guy gets the shaft
Review: I again watched Arlington Road this past weekend and found it to be a very intense, well done and action packed movie. Though I had seen it before, I did have the pleasure this time of viewing it within the confines of my own family room. The effects on a big screen TV, coupled with Dolby Digital surround sound with this movies sound effects will definitely take you off your seat. Amazing intensity. Even during one of the scenes, it literally woke my dog up. Fantastic movie! I would highly recommend its viewing.

Summary: The best movie I've seen in years!
Review: Extremely riveting and unsuspecting. I can't think a person watching this movie expects what they get. I was constantly waiting for the next "twist" in the movie. One for my personal collection forever.

Summary: The Best Movie of the Year
Review: The domestic terrorism that AR deals with should really make people think. The typical anti-government person is portrayed in movies as an out of work slob that drinks beer all day, but AR portrasys the anti-government character as a successful architect living in the suburbs. It sure beats the stereotypes. Fear your Neighbor!!

Summary: BOOM!
Review: Smart, witty, one of the best thrillers of the decade! Oscar-contending performance by Bridges. A recommended must see

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Poor, cut, spliced and diced to nothing!
Review: It starts with the credits, a herky-jerky collage of film snippets conveying nothing in particular -detracting from the credits if nothing else, and leading into the opening scene with the injured kid, which drags on.

Bridges portrayal of a University professor is like no professor I have ever met. Harrison Ford's Indianna Jones as a professor is more credible! Bridges' performance is over the top and irrating, either he is hysterical or laid back, and there is never a happy medium. In fact his performance is so disjointed there is no connect with the rest of the charachters, and since he is the main character, this is a problem! The rest of the actors on the other hand, put in a solid performances of the chacters they are portraying.

Maybe Bridges' problem is connected to the Director, for this looks like amateur stuff. Maybe the director got his training in TV and half hour soap episodes, for sure he doesn't know how to carry the story for a full two hours. The cuts are so evident, as are the splices, and there are scenes you can almost here the clapper -for example, the scene when Bridge's is expressing his fears to his girl friend in his kitchen about his neighbour. Of course, some of this can be blamed on the editing, which did nothing to improve the visual flow of the film. And what about the close-ups? Didn't this director learn at school close ups are for dramatic effect and the more you use them the less effect you get? I come away with a clear impression of Bridges nose, which should have been given a seperate credit title!

The plot is good if somewhat stretched, but the premise is not very credible, namely their are bands of well educated, and financed organizations in America with agendas to attack government institutions and destroy public property for no other reason than personal vendettas over some personal injustices! Even if you buy into this, the script has such gaping holes - particulary towards the end of the film - all credibility is lost, and the impact of the final scenes is completely diminished. Albeit, the end is clever, but totally unsuported by logic, and believe me there is plenty of time to think logically during the 2 hour duration of the film!

For the most part, the music is grating and repetitive, since I watched it on video I just turned the sound down.

For me, not an enjoyable or interesting flick!

Summary: Perfectly realistic and genuinly thrilling!
Review: This movie was an incredible expirience. I hope the message this film translates is heard because people need to start thinking about things like this! It was very very intense and thoughtful. Not to mention superb performances by Bridges and Robbins. Only an idiot would think this to long and unrealistic. Stop watching the way people like the government want you to and start watching where they don't want you to.

Summary: Sometimes paranoids are just paranoid
Review: The catch phrase for Arlington Road is " Your paranoia is real" well-I disagree. The movie stars Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins (two of the most talented but under appreciated actors of the decade) as somewhat friendly neighbors living on Arlington Road. The "road" that they both live on is about all the significance the title of the film has. Beneath the surface of the title "Arington Road" is a very thought provoking screenplay written by Ehren Kruger who doesn't try to hide the fact that he believes there is more to paranoia than well - paranoia. The message that "AR" tries to push on the viewer is its only downfall it works best when it plays as a potboiler than as a lesson. What really makes "AR" stand out from other thrillers is its dare to be different twists and turns that lead to an ending that is unfortunately unusual for a Hollywood made film. Its refreshing to see originallty in such a well covered genre.

Summary: A THRILL RIDE FROM BEGINING TO END
Review: I do not think that I have ever in my ife seen a movie so good. This movie had a really good message. That is that we take things that in this case the government says and we accept it without really looking at all the sides in which a conspiracy may happen. For example, the Oklahoma bombing. Things like this happen and we try to find the person without really thinking about the fact that maybe it was a set up. When we finally find a person to put the blame on we think it is over when we may not have even convicted the right person. Still, the way this movie flowed from begining to end was great. It gave complete details of how a person may get set up. The ending of the movie was even more captivating. I really recommend that all people watch this movie. It is definately one that I am going to add to my video collection.
