Summary: Excellent Suspense! Great Movie!
Review: After reading some of the reviews here, I decided to give this movie a chance. I find it so ludicrous that all people were concerned with was the SEX! Why can't people look beyond that. The movie was very suspenseful (sometimes predictable). I have to agree that I had a pretty good idea of whodunnit most of the time, but it ended really well and blew me away. I would have never guessed the ending and that is the best part of a suspense thriller. I could have done without all the nudity and sexual connotations. Scott Bakula was great in his small role as he always is. I enjoy all of this work. I also enjoyed seeing Bruce Willis in something different. It seems he is always typecast.

Review: What more needs to be said, this movie has Bruce Willis init. The first time I saw this movie was honestly by accident, howeverwhen I noticed Bruce Willis's name in the cast, I had to give it achance. I agree that critics look way too much on the sexualissue. True there are many nude scenes, so if you're sensitive tonudity or sex, you may have a problem with this movie (most criticsseem to have this ...disfunction...). The fact that Willis and Marchhave sex plays an essential role to her psychological being, as wellto his understanding to the tragic reality that is her (and herbrother's) life. This movie is well done. It also gives you a glimpseinto the life of a truly mixed up person, that can overcome any odds,including confusion in one's sexuality, multiple personalities, andeven physical and mental abuse. Jane March does an excellent job aswell. Her portrayal of this confused youth tormented by her olderbrother, who she obviously looks up to, yet she seems to find comfortin an errotic life style with many partners, her favorite partner (andlove) being Bruce Willis, is exceptional. I would definitely watchthis movie again. I highly recommend this movie, along with all otherBruce Willis movies. No matter what critics, or people, say, if amovie has Bruce Willis, it's probably good. And chances are, the morecritics put down a movie, the better it probably is.

Summary: Worse than a low budget erotic flick
Review: This movie has everything that any bad movie usually has: bad plot, poor acting, absolutely no chemistry between Willis and March, bad make-up, dissappointing sex scenes, and a primitive dialog.The ONLY reason to watch this movie is if you absolutely must see Jane March naked. But I think you'd be better off with "The Lover."

Summary: Color-ful Thiriller
Review: COLOR OF NIGHT is a solid thriller, with enough of twist, to keep it interesting. Dr. Bob Moore (Scott Bakula) is pretty sure that one of his patients is going to kill him. Moore shares his concerns with a fellow Psychologist. Soon after the visit, Moore is found dead, and Dr. Bill Cappa (Bruce Willis) is determined to find the killer. In order to help police Lt. Hector Martinez, (Ruben Blades) solve the case, Cappa decides to see some of Moore's patients. However, he soon finds himself attracted to a mysterious woman (Jane March), whom he suspects may know the truth about what really happened. Directed by Richard Rush, the film boasts a pretty good supporting cast, led by Lance Henriksen, Lesley Ann Warren, Brad Dourif, and Kevin J. O'Connor. As with many modern adult thrillers, sex is all part of the game. Made at a time when the movie BASIC INSTINCT was still very much on our minds, the film tries to capitalize on that wave, but thanks to the cast, COLOR OF NIGHT, avoids being a simple knock off. Willis and March make quite a pair in the film. I have no problem recommending the movie... The DVD lacks any extras. Save, of course, for 15 minutes of additional footage incorporated into the film, not seen in theaters. The "Director's Cut" adds some interesting scenes. Overall though, it works either way, as a film. The only other extra on the disc is the film's theatical trailer.

Summary: Don't Believe The Extra Hype
Review: First of all I would like to stress, and I think I am in a minority here, that Color of Night is a awful movie, more so since very talented actors like Bruce Willis, Brad Dourif, Lesley Ann Warren and Eriq La Salle are in it.It would have been much more bearable had some unknown B actors been involved instead, because no matter how great the appeal of the A list names is, Color of Night is an erotic thriller, exactly the same as the hundreds of other films of the genre that litter the video and DVD market.
Of course, the only reason this filmed gained such a controversy at its time of release, and indeed why anyone would want to watch it in the first place is for the sex scenes..and the infamous ones that has Willis other talents exposed, with the beautiful and sexy Jane March. Surely, the plot that revolves around a psychologist and his psycho patient,which is usually the standard plot for most erotic thrillers, is not enough to stimulate the interest of any movie lover.
And this is exactly why this DVD version has in big bold letters,the 'exclusive 15 minutes extra hot scenes', too daring to be shown in theatres!! And this is why I am writing this review to draw your attention to the following:
It is a marketing gimmick that yet again I dive straight into, only to be disappointed! (but I am learning!)
Well, yes, there are some extra 'bits and pieces' added that are not quite as daring as you might be lead to believe, and in comparison to any French or Spanish films of late,it looks quite tame.
And yes, included is the lesbian scene between March and Warren which was cut in its entirety for the theatre release.(a quite talked about scene at the time,like as rumours have it the still lost girl-girl scenes of Basic Instinct alledgedly also cut).
Now a word about this scene:(if it can be properly described as scene)
Why it was cut in the first place is a great mystery! and another riddle yet to be solved into the strange workings of censor's mind!It is the tamest and most ridiculous girl-girl kiss I have ever seen..Russian leaders used to kiss each other and some unsuspected poor international visitors for longer and more passionately! and it was filmed for all to see!!If you expect action similar to Bound, A Girl Thing or Monkey's Mask then think again!
And think twice before buying this DVD,if you find the lure of the 'extra hot' too tempting ..If you like Bruce Willis and enjoyed the film, then fine, but just beware of the marketing 'beast' that might very well disappoint you as much as I was.

Summary: It's a guilty pleasure not a great film
Review: I watched this film originally because of Jane March, who I think is a real cutie. (Full disclosure: my wife thinks she looks like a chipmunk but she likes Bruce Willis so she tolerates this film.) It's all I expected: lots of Ms. March, wearing very little when she wears anything at all, and smiling a lot; Bruce Willis ('nuff said), and some really lame "suspense" plot that does little more than provide excuses for more nudity and sexual antics. Do you care? Well, it's no Pulp Fiction! Depends what you want to see, and at least it's a lot easier on the eyes than some of her other turkeys (Provocateur, Tarzan). Honestly, if you're looking for a film with a story, go elsewhere -- even March's first hit, "The Lover" -- is a good alternative. If you're looking for some guilty pleasure, look no further. Fast-forward through the non-nude scenes and you'll be watching this one over and over. It's a guilty pleasure, but sometimes you just gotta give in.

Summary: Color of Night---WOW!!!!!!
Review: I saw this movie as soon as it came out on video and again when it was released on DVD last March 2003. I liked this movie a lot, but was disappointed that the cover on both the VHS and DVD stated (15 extra steamy minutes not shown in theatres). Well, I didn't get a chance to see it in the theatre and finally saw it on DVD and VHS and counted only 5 minutes total and that is all the love scenes combined. I heard that there was a lesbian love scene cut out and probably some more cut out, but who knows. If there is anyone out there who knows where to get the unrated version with NOTHING cut out, let me know. I did like this movie. It kept me on my toes and at the edge of my seat.

Review: I bought this video because it's a Bruce Willis movie and I wasn't disappointed at all! I've enjoyed every Bruce Willis movie I've ever seen. Sure, I'm a big Willis fan, but I also loved pretty much everything about this movie: the plot, the characters, and even the music in it. If nudity and some bad language bothers you, then this is not the movie for you. But this movie has quickly become one of my favorites and now I've ordered the DVD too. I did this because I've watched it at least 4 times already on VHS and I know I'll be watching it again. The plot grabbed me and I wanted to see the whole movie - more than once!

Review: there is one reason to watch this movie, the sex scene, i dont care about the girl, just bruce, this movie was alright i suppose, but nothing special, some scenes were god, some pretty bad, and his whole blindness thing that he cant see red was kinda dumb, it didnt play well in the movie, but if u think bruce willis is hot, and i sure do, u HAVE to get this movie, u can see him completly nude, and it is a very goood sight, ...this move is only really worth gettting for that, and if u think hes hot, then this is definatly worth getting, u wont be dissapointed by bruc, in my opinion hes an amzing actor, but i really wish he had done a porno if u catch my drift ; )
