Summary: Well maybe 2 1/2 stars?!?!?!
Review: Tom's acting was a little better in this film but seriously folks the most he really has going for him is that he is an exceptional good lookin man. He keeps getting more and more handsome as he ages. Now here is the but,,,,,I really think he has the potential to be a really good actor but the roles he has been taking just don't do anything for him anymore. Sometimes while i was watching this movie i was wondering what he would look like as a drag queen. If anything, that would have spiced up this film alot. Otherwise outside a few scenes here and there this film is boring. Now his co-star,,,,what was her name? again was BORING. Was this her first attempt at making a movie? I don't believe i ever saw her act on Broadway. Oh, that's right, Broadway is for real actors.Tom,,,,if you read this,,,you can do better buddy.

Summary: Not a film for people simply looking to be "entertained"
Review: I thought VANILLA SKY was a brilliant film, easily one of the best films of that year. It reminded me somewhat of JACOB'S LADDER, with a dash of THE SIXTH SENSE and THE MATRIX thrown in for good measure, but it was, in fact, so much more.

VANILLA SKY worked on every conceivable level: acting, direction, screenwriting, cinematography, production design, editing, scoring...

I believe that VANILLA SKY, even more so than almost any other film one could name, requires that the viewer bring something to the table. In other words, the viewer will get out of it exactly what he or she invests into it. This is not a film for people simply looking to be entertained for a few hours.

In a time when most films make me regret that I even paid matinee prices to see them, VANILLA SKY was a film definitely worth paying full price for to view a second time.

Summary: Outstanding!
Review: Vanilla Sky is an absolutely breathtaking, spell-binding masterpiece from Cameron Crowe.

Sharply written, beautifully acted, and imaginatively directed, this is one of the best (and most underrated) films of 2001!

Summary: Vanilla Sky
Review: This is another one of those movies when you never get a firm grip on what reality is. (Like "Last Action Hero.") That keeps you from getting truly interested in the movie's plot. As soon as you think you have things figured out and you become interested, you realize it's yet another dream. I wouldn't have been so disappointed if this film hadn't been advertised as a psychological thriller about a young lady who faked her death to stalk an ex-lover. That is definitely not the plot. It's an art film and I did not like it.

Summary: Very Good and Very Strange!
Review: ....Vanilla Sky is a great movie but the only reason I gave it four stars was because there was too much profanity. They could have dimmed down a little bit with that but aside from that this is a good movie.

...The movie also has great acting by Tom Cruise,Penelope Cruz,Cameron Diaz, and Kurt Russel.Tom Cruise has never been a favorite of mine with Jerry Maguire but this movie makes up for that.I have never seen anything eles with Penenlope Cruz to judge her by but this movie I liked.Cameron Diaz I liked in The Mask and Kurt Russel was anthor I have never seen anything with.Jason Lee who played Tom Cruise friend gave an excellant preformace.Jason Lee has also been a favorite of mine with Big Trouble and hopefully Stealing Harvard.

...The DVD features aren't the greatest thing in the world but the movie does make up for that. The features include 2 featurettes,an unrealed trailer,a teaser trailer, and an international trailer, and much more.So go rent(rent it before you buy it and then if you like it you could buy it then)Vanilla Sky now on video and DVD

Summary: Yikes
Review: This was the most bizarre movie I have ever seen! I had a huge headache by the time it was over. The movie trailer lead you to believe it was a fatal attraction type thriller but it's really not - its about something totally different and way to far fetched for me! I didn't like it at all!

Summary: STRANGE!????
Review: This movie was very hard to like the first time I watched it. But the more I watched it and understood it, I began to like it a little. The movie was too strange to enjoy fully.

I wish I could return it and buy another DVD.
This was just WHACK!

Summary: Why bother with the remake?
Review: First off, let me say that I did not think the film was as bad as the critics made out. My main objection to it was the fact that it was identical to the original Spanish movie. Crowe does a grand job with the style and direction of the movie. What lets the movie down is the performances of Cruise and Cruz. .... Compared to the performance of the actor in the original, he comes off second best. ...On the plus side, Diaz and Russell give solid performances. ...Look out for the line that Diaz delivers just before she crashes the car when telling Mr Cruise just how much she loves him .... it is guaranteed to get every males attention.

The original movie is a classic. This movie is above average. I just think that Crowe, Cruise and Co. would have been far better off in concentrating their talents on something original.

Well worth a watch. Open your wallets.

Summary: Just wondering
Review: So if the main character, David, loses everything and goes mental because his face is disfigured, doesn't that sort of make him a vain vapid jerk? Wouldn't it have been a good idea to use an actor who could play vain and vapid and still engage the audience's sympathy? It also would have helped if David's competition for Sofia was someone to really worry about; Jason Lee just seemed kind of sardonic and unthreatening. Suppose David was worried about someone like George Clooney? That would make him a bunch more desperate I think.
By the way, Noah Taylor did a fine job as Mr. Confuso at the end of the film. Taylor is always so interesting to watch. Such as his performance as the young David Helfgott, both maturing and distorting in "Shine". And he makes a great foil for Kurt Russell. Although still quite young, Taylor has a knowing but reassuring vibe.

Summary: Don't watse your time!!!!
Review: I think it .... I was so confused about what was really happening in this movie. Penelope Cruz is a horrible actress, and she certainly doesn't deserve to be on the same screen with Tom Cruise or Cameron Diaz. Penelope is so one dimensional it's pathetic. I honestly don't know what Cameron was thinking when she agreed to do this movie. Tom should have known better. To top it off, I guess the special twist at the end was suppose to be riveting....I THINK NOT. Not to mention, this movie was entirely too long and drawn out.
