Summary: Suspence-Thriller? Well said!
Review: The Game is a very suspenceful movie. It challenges your mind as well as the mind of the actor and the role he's playing. This movie is very different from pretty much all the other suspence-thrillers. The only problem with this movie is that it starts pretty slow, but it does hits you at the end (before you know what's actually happeneing).

Summary: Rent it first
Review: This is a fantastic movie!! Douglas, whom I have always enjoyed, and Penn, whom I have never really liked, deliver superb performances in their roles. Once the action really started moving, I found myself staying one step ahead of Douglas, which actually added to my enjoyment. I did fall behind at the ending, where my first reaction was "What's that doing there?". Unless you are a die-hard Douglas fan and collector, rent this great suspenseful thriller for your first viewing: knowing the ending will take away the suspense, but not the thrills, of subsequent viewings. Watch it and decide.

Summary: The Game is fresh, unpredictable; reminiscent of Hitchcock
Review: Michael Douglas is masterful as the shrewd investment banker who is taken on the ride of a lifetime compliment's of a consumer recreation service. His brother, played by Sean Penn, gives him a birthday present that changes his life. . Director David Fincher adds a dark undertone to the film similar to his prior success in "Seven". Exremely imaginative and very clever, this film will not dissapoint.

Summary: A painful viewing experience
Review: This has to be one of the most dreadful films I have even seen. The story is absurd, the charaters are completely repusive, and the ending is an insult to anyone with an IQ exceeding that of a turnip. The only conclusion one can draw from this film is that the director, the writer and the actors view humanity with absolute contempt.

Summary: Great film
Review: I disagree with the first customer review, since I have now seen the film three times. I was surprised that I wanted to see the movie again after knowing the ending, but it is such a compelling story that it transends the 'but only once' surprise ending dilemma.

Summary: Captivating suspense
Review: The Game is a classic movie - but once only. Not to give away the story, but if you've seen it once there is no use seeing it again because the suspense, the mystery and the "what the heck is going on?" will be missed on the go around. Sean Penn is magnificent as always. The script is brilliant. If you have never seen this movie please do, but be prepared to sit down and enjoy, because it is a one-shot deal.

Summary: If you like intensity and suspense...get this movie!
Review: This movie will take you on a mental and emotional rollercoaster ride from start to finish. Michael Douglas really shines in this role. And, in the end, you will probably be reminded of a few people you know who could "benefit" from watching this movie - the ultimate point of the movie is not at all subtle!

Summary: I only rate good movies
Review: and this one is quite possibly one of the best I've seen. I love suspense and the Game has an added element that helps it stand out and that is an underlying "erieness". The ending is not the best--which takes one star away--but the story keeps you going right up to the end. It is definately one worthy of a second or third viewing. I would say it rates right up there with the Fugitive starring Harrison Ford.
