Summary: Truly a Classic
Review: The moving life of Andy Dufrane entered my life two years ago. When I saw this film, I instantly fell in love with it. Tim Robbins went beyond an actor and truly transformed into the quiet, well-mannered Andy Dufrane. Andy is hardly another prisoner at Shawshank, he is a genius with a dream of freedom in tropical paradise. This movie touches the heart, especially when Andy is roughed up by the 'sisters' and when he befriends 'Red'. The perfection of this movie, I'm afraid, cannot be described by words. How can one describe perfection?

Summary: It truely deserves to be one of the best movies ever made.

Summary: GREATEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!
Review: This is officially the greatest movie ever.I loved it, and it was entertaining from beginning to end. At first i thought i would not like it but i did.It is my favorite movie of all time.I had 5 friend over one day and we were bored so i made them watch it.They didnt want to but i made them. All of them loved it.Two of my friends agree with me and say its their favorite movie ever, and my other three friends say it was great.

The cast is amazing. It stars Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman.Tim Robbins palys Andy.He is a banker who is accused of murdering his wife, so he is put in prison for life.Morgan Freeman plays Red, the first person in prison who makes friends with Andy. The movie is simply about all of the things that happen at the prison including new inmates, and working in the fields. The plot seems boring but it is not. There is never a dull moment, and the ending is simply mesmorising.

The movie is rated R for language and prison violence. If you are in the mood for a good movie, and dont mind an R rating, i suggest that you see this movie as quickly as possible.Go!! Hurry up!!! Go see it right now!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: The star scale is not high enough!!
Review: Everyone should see this. It is as near to perfect as a movie can get. Some of the many classic lines are: "Get busy living, or get busy dying," "Some birds are not meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright...maybe I just miss my friend." There are also some very funny lines: After Andy plays the opera record over the PA system, and is put in solitary for a time - he gets out of solitary and is sitting having lunch with his friends. One of them asks "Andy, couldn't you play something good, like Hank Williams?" and Andy replies "They broke down the door before I could take requests."

One of my favorite things about this wonderful film - It is the story of deep friendship between two men of different races, yet this difference is never once mentioned or referred to in any way. That is as it should be.

Summary: TIMELESS CLASSIC
Review: What can you say about The Shawshank Redemption that hasn't already been said? It must be one of the best loved and indeed greatest films ever made. I do not know anybody that has seen this film that doesn't LOVE it. It really is that superb.

Adapted from Stephen King's novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, it tells the story of Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), an outwardly timid man convicted of murdering his wife and her lover and jailed for life. Arriving at Shawshank prison in 1947, Andy becomes the victim of prison brutality in the early part of his stay but he also befriends another lifer, the prison "fixer" named Red (beautifully played by Morgan Freeman) and his buddies. Through his knowledge of taxation and financial transactions he also becomes popular with the prison warden and the guard that runs his brutal regime but Andy also soon realises that in prison life means life and that's what they try to take from him.

This is the most beautiful and ultimately uplifting film you could ever hope to see, whilst recognising the traditional conventions of prison drama (such as brutality and rape), it is really a film that demonstrates that the human spirit can overcome brutality with faith, friendship (and a rock hammer). This is as close to the perfect film as you will ever get. It is perfectly cast from the leads Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins, who give wonderfully understated performances to the supporting cast of Clancy Brown, William Sadler, Bob Gunton and Gil Bellows. It is subtly directed by Frank Darabont who carefully manages to avoid overstatement and oversugaring the cake with sentiment and pathos.

The most amazing thing about this film is that although it was nominated for seven academy awards in 1994 it didn't win any (they were dominated by Forrest Gump) and it is described in Leonard Matlin's film guide as "terribly overlong", "hollow and predictable". How wrong could you be? The Shawshank Redemption is a timeless all-time classic that will cast its spell over many people for a long long time to come.

Five stars are often too easily awarded by movie reviewers but this deserves six.

Summary: My second all time favorite movie.
Review: You never notice a man's shoes. I can't say enough about this movie. I have probably seen this movie 100 times, and I will never tire of it. Tim Robbins (Andy) and Morgan Freeman (Red) head up a terrific cast in this thrilling drama about life inside the walls of Shawshank Prision. This movie keeps you guessing. I love how they never tell you why Red is in there, makes you wonder. Everyone should watch this movie, buy it, it might be on TNT every other second, but they cut out parts and you need to see the whole thing without commerical interuption!

Summary: Moving drama of the triumph of the human spirit.
Review: This is by far, one of the best films I've seen in quite some time! I usually don't have the time to write a review, but for this film, I made the time. I saw the film , and afterwards logged on Amazon.com and bought it.
If you liked "The Green Mile" you'll love this movie too.

Summary: Possibly the best movie ever made in Hollywood
Review: I was one of the few who went to see this movie when it was originally released in theaters. I think I went back 2 or 3 times to see it again and cried at the end when Morgan (Red) is walking to meet his friend Andy (Tim Robbins) on the beach. This movie totally blew me away. The long length was even better because it made you feel as though you were incarcerated all those years as well. I felt I was an inmate in that evil wardens prison along with Red and Andy. Morgan Freemans narration is so spectacular and right on key that I think he should've won an Oscar just for his narration of this movie. And believe it or not a tear still trickles at the end when I watch this movie on TV. A fine, fine, masterpiece of a movie.Nothing that year or since has matched the greatness of this motion picture.
