Summary: wachowskis before matrix
Review: entertaining story about two women who make off with the mob's money, not to mention putting the make on each other...i got more into the action and the diologue rather than the two lovers, but the sex scenes between them are hot...and graphic... gay and straight people can get into this flick. give the wachowskis credit for being daring...

Summary: A Thriller With An IQ
Review: Jennifer Tilly is the bored mistress of mob lieutenant Joe Pantoliano. Things change for good when recently released ex-con Gina Gershon sets up shop in the empty apartment next door to do remodeling contract work. The two begin a flirtation, a tease, and then a steamy affair. Their hope for ultimate happiness and escape from ex-con and second fiddle girlfriend drudgery lies in a caper to rip-off Joe Pantoliano who will be babysitting a large amount of cash for his underworld boss. This may seem like a typical enough crime caper flick with an usual romance as a gimmick backdrop. It is however one of the smartest crime thrillers in a long while. The key is that Joe Pantoliano is not made out to be a easy fall guy. He is instead ruthless and cunning, thus making best laid plans go astray. Filled with one edge of your seat, unpredictable tense moment after another.

Summary: Decent flick, poor acting
Review: If you've seen and liked The Matrix, you may want to check out this movie. It's directed by the Wachowski brothers but it's not sci-fi/action like The Matrix. This is a pretty average action flick with a major twist - the main characters are lesbians. The 2 characters, Violet and Corky meet in their apartment's elevator and form an ambiguous lesbian relationship. As they get to know each other better (wink wink), Violet reveals that she is living with an important Mob member, Caesar Marsoni (sp?). Violet has had enough of the Mob's wrongdoings and wants to get out but is more or less trapped. Violet and Corky decide to not only get her away from them but also steal a ton of their money. Their plan doesn't execute exactly as they planned and...well, the rest you'll have to see. The only thing I don't like about this movie is Jennifer Tilly.. I think her acting skills are poor and the lines she has given sound like something right out of a cheap harlequin romance novel, not helping her character at all. It's a good movie overall and I recommend it to action or lesbian fans ;).

Summary: Great DVD Experience!
Review: In "Bound", I'm sure that you're already well-aware that Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly play two lesbians (Gina being 'the butch' and Jen playing 'the femme') trying to steal two-million dollars from the mob. It's an edge-of-your-seat thriller where you're wanting them to be together and to get away with the two-mill.

The DVD edition has cool commentary with the directors, an extra, and the three main stars. Suffice to say, it is a little boring until Jennifer arrives and livens things up. She's really a funny woman. And then Gina arrives with about thirty minutes left. But you can tell just by listening to them that they had a chemistry among them, which helped make this movie work.

You also get the trailer, and scene selection. The only reason I'm giving this movie four stars is because I think the mob guys in the movie do tend to grate on one's nerves after awhile. I mean, Gina Gershon is in the movie...could it have hurt to have her in it more? *LOL* Oh well...it's a very cool movie, and the DVD experience only makes it more worth your money!

Summary: Bound 4 times over
Review: My boyfriend and I rented Bound mostly because he absolutely LOVES the Wachowski Bros work. He's studying film and so he loved the movie for all the incredible techniques Andy and Larry used throughout the movie, and while I can appreciate those too, I liked it for the chick action (it had a great plot too- don't get me wrong). We watched the movies 4 times in 2 days! Needless to say we absolutely adore the movie. We've picked up some great one liner's from the movie that continue to keep us laughing! I think everyone should give this flick a chance! If you like a good plot, and a little bit of flesh (you know that any guy would love to see this- what guy would pass up seeing 2 chicks go at it? ) go rent bound and see for yourself. I guaruntee you'll like it! Enjoy!

Summary: Steamy and suspenseful thriller
Review: Before the Coen brothers rocketed to fame with The Matrix they directed this little known low-budget independent film called Bound. It's a film that's undeniably well made, with such skill in creating suspense that it would make Alfred Hitchcock proud.

The film's plot centers around two women (Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly). They plan to steal 2 million dollars from a mobster (Joe Pantoliano) but not everything goes according to plan.

The suspense scenes work very well and there were many moments I was on the edge of my seat. When I was about to watch this film I thought it would be a slow paced thriller but, boy, was I wrong.

As for the lesbian sex scenes in this film, there's only one and it shouldn't offend anybody. As a matter of fact, the scene is quite steamy and erotic, certainly much better than any of the lesbian scenes in Wild Things.

The performances are solid all around. Gina Gershon is probably the best as the tough, hard as nails ex-con. The Coen brothers direct with a lot flair and style. The result is one rollicking thriller.

Summary: what Thelma and Louise should have been
Review: The first hour and half of this hour and forty five minute movie is a flashback. Our movie opens with Corky (Gina Gershon) bound and locked in a closet. The flashback tells us how she got there. It opens with Corky riding an elevator with Violet (Jennifer Tilly) and her boyfriend, Caesar (Joe Pantiliano). Violet makes a point of giving Corky the eye. Corky finds this strange, as Violet is obviously straight (she can hear the sounds of sex through Violet and Caesar's bedroom wall). Caesar is a mobster who has it in for the local boss, Jonnie Mazzone (Christopher Meloni) who is boss for no other reason than he is the son of Gino Mazzone (Richard Sarafian). In any case, immediately after Violet seduces Corky, a third party, Shelly (Barry Kivel) gets caught skimming from the mob, is tortured (in the grittiest scene of non-gratuitous violence you have ever seen (really, it adds to the suspense)) and finally killed (blessedly off camera). The problem is that he is shot over the money, so Caesar is forced to become a money launderer in a more literal sense than he would desire. Caesar has to wash and iron the money ($2M) before Gino comes to get it the next evening. Violet goes to Corky, She wants out. She wants Corky, a professional thief, to help her steal the money. But Corky has just gotten out of jail. Why? A partner ripped her off. But she decides to steal the money with Violet anyway. Since she is the professional, it's her plan. Unfortunately, the plan is flawed. The plan is: she steals the money, Caesar finds out, Caesar runs. When Caesar finds out about the money, he doesn't run. He, instead confronts the Mazzones. And when that doesn't work he turns into Captain Queeg. And still you haven't gotten to the begininng of the movie. You still have fifteen minutes of flashback left. The whole thing is wonderfully acted and lovingly photographed. The script is taut and there are twists even in the last minute. This movis is what Thelma and Louise should have been.

Summary: From the makers of THE MATRIX...
Review: I saw this late one night on TV and thought it wasn't too bad. I loved Jennifer Tilly in 'Bride of Chucky' as well. This film is a sexy crime thriller with a lesbian atmospheare to it. (Which is different) there are also violent moments too. You can tell by the direction of 'Bound' that it is by the Wachowski bros, with its stylish look upon it. As crime thrillers go, this one ain't too bad.

Summary: Superb film, good DVD
Review: Bound was the first movie done by the Wachowski brothers. Their second was The Matrix. Bound is incredibly rich on plot and dialog and it will keep you riveted all the way to the end in much the same way that Fargo did. The sound and picture quality of the DVD are excellent and the director (and others) voice-over version is quite engaging and fun. Where else can you learn trivia such as: the noted sex author Susie Bright makes a cameo appearance and stocks the bar with her lesbian friends? (she is also part of the voice-over ensemble) It should be noted this movie is not for everyone. It openly depicts erotic situations between woman and there are scenes of very graphic violence. This movie apologises for none of this, nor should it, as both the sex and violence are crucial plot elements and are by no means gratuitous. Highly recommended.

Summary: One of the best movies ever made
Review: One of the best movies ever made. Corky and Violet make the coolest and the sexiest same-sex couple in the movie history. Joe Pantoliano gives a brilliant performance as a very doomed gangster, Ceasar. Brothers Wachowski reinvented film noir when they wrote and directed this stylish, skillfully crafted movie, just as they reinvented action movies with their second feature film - Matrix. Every liberated female, every movie buff, every gay man and a lesbian or even a straight male should watch it. Possible turn-offs (for some; turn-ons for others)include rather extreme but plot-justified graphic violence (not a lot but enouph) and beautifully made, steamy lesbian-love scenes. Scary, suspensful, seductive, endlessly entertaining , this movie is a real treat that everyone will enjoy.
