Summary: A wonderful film, better than the book
Review: When I went to the theatre I didn't know what kind of movie I was going to see, because I hadn't read the book til then. But it was just great! 3 1/2 h long, this movie really took me to the edge. Lots of emotions in there, you really start to like the actors (more the persons they are playing). Later on I read the book and saw that the film was better (the first time I can say this about a Stephen King-film). JUST GREAT! Watch it!

Summary: Incredibly Moving...
Review: "The Green Mile" was one of those rare films that, after I had left the theater, had me blundering around bumping into walls, tears running down my cheeks, still lost in its unique world. Only a couple other movies have ever had this effect on me, and perhaps never to the extent this one did. I was one of those who saw the movie before reading the book(s), and I have to say that the movie actually surpassed the book, a rare accomplishment indeed. If you come out of this movie unchanged, you're a walking corpse. Frank Darabont is set on an incredibly promising career.

Summary: The Green Mile
Review: I went to see this movie in the cinema a few months ago, not sure on what type of movie this was going to be but for the first 40 minutes it was a standard prison drama. Around now it takes an interesting twist and S Kings influence is obvious and from now on it takes you on a high low emotional ride which even for me left me and all of the rest of the people in the cinema silent at the end. Great movie, the best of Kings films yet!

Summary: Slightly slow start, but worth it
Review: I thought that the Green Mile had a slow start until I saw the whole movie. The first hour of the movie is necessary to get you involved and concerned with all of the colorful, tragic, and interesting characters. This movie can't exactly be described as a tear-jerker, because it's more than that, but it does successfully tug at your heart many times. It may even give one second thoughts about being a proponent of capital punishment.Great movie, great performances, great script!

Summary: This movie was all that I expected...
Review: I first read this book, and then I went to see the movie. As I was watching the movie I noticed that there were a few things left out that were in the book, but it didn't take anything away from the movie at all. It was all that I had expected and then some. This is a fantastic...fantastic movie. I highly recommend people to read the book first and then watch the movie. You will not be disappointed! I promise!

Review: The best film of 1999! This is one of the times when Tom Hanks is backed by a cast that is just as good at acting as him. Even though it's over 3 hours it is worth it! However the time does go very fast. It should have won several of the major Academy Awards, but it didn't. Outstanding script, directing, acting, and music score keep you very interested. Grade:A

Summary: THIS WAS NOT ABOUT RACISM
Review: I believe that even if the character who portrayed John Coffey in this movie had been caucassian, the movie would have had the same impact. It was one of the most moving and powerful movies that I've seen in a long, long time however. I've seen it 3 times and each subsequent time is better and better. This movie is a "must see."

Review: The Green Mile is simply one of the best movies I have ever seen! I hear people saying that it was too long. No great movie could ever be too long! The Green mile was easily the best movie of 1999, and it should have won the Academy Award!
