Summary: Greatest Movie...ever
Review: This movie has so many classic scenes. The scene in the italian restaurant with Michael Corleone was my personal favorite. The characters were impeccable. The dialogue was excellent and the story had every facet of a great story and yet as a viewer you don't feel you are being set up for any of the great tragedies and triumphs throughout this film. If you have not seen this classic, I insist you watch it... now.

Summary: The Best Movie Ever
Review: This movie is still the best. It's study of power is amazing. It shows that there is a fine line between big legal and illegal power.

Summary: Timeless and Brilliant
Review: A truly great film is one who's greatness can be appreciated by fans of any genre, and from any religious or cultural backround. This is definitely one of those films. To say that The Godfather is a great Mafia movie would be doing a gross injustice to a brilliant piece of modern art. It is a story about family and loyalty, greed and treachery. It is a story that reminds us of basic principals such as to put family above all else. It is a story that tells of infidelity in marriage, corruption in law and politics, and the violence of organized crime. It is a tale so immaculately simple that a 10 year old could follow it, yet its many themes run deep enough to reach the heart and emotions of a grown man. An absolute must in any movie collection.

Summary: One of the best
Review: I just can`t describe what I felt when I saw this movie. I think I don`t need to say much about it. It`s one of the best films of all time and anyone who disagrees must surely be crazy.

Summary: Watch this movie.
Review: The Godfather is a simple movie. It's so simple it approaches the level of Zen. It deals with very basic things: family, power, vengeance, corruption, strangers in a strange land, the aged king passing crown and sword to his son. It is one of the rare movies where each scene flows easily to the next. Nor do you feel that the director is building a story--it all seems inevitable and natural. It all takes place within the Corleones' universe, which exists completely inside itself--Old School, Old World, gentlemanly (on the surface), Catholic in its quiet ritual manner, boisterous with the family.

Summary: Puzo and Coppola Collaboration Is a Triumph
Review: The start of the best trilogy of any movies involves a timeless saga about the family of the Corleone family. Michael (Pacino) is the reluctant soldier, Sonny (Caan) is the hot tempered underboss, Tom (Duvall) is the lawyer that advises the family after he was taken in by the Godfather (Brando). Beautiful on every level and a classic on every level as well. Hands down the best film ever made, and possibly the best there ever will be.

Summary: Unbelievable
Review: This film is an extrodinary tale of the Corleone Crime family in New York in the 1950s. The realism of this film is almost too good to be true. Mario Puzo wrote a great novel and Francis Ford Coppola made an even better movie. This is in my top ten and it's one of the five best movies of all time. In my opinion, it's the best of all time.

Summary: It took my breath away!
Review: An amazing movie that keeps your interest up until the very end. The acting is perfect and every scene is classic, every line is repeatable. Also check out The Godfather Part II

Summary: A great movie on so many levels- my favorite of all time.
Review: The film that launched so many careers. Not just a great movie, but a glorious movie in so many ways. You know this movie is effective when you find yourself cheering for a family involved in crime. Typecasting has never been used more effectively. The use of colors, texture, and lighting is so effective in creating the feel this movie has. Foreshawdowing and symbolism is so clever. And the dialogue is brilliant. So much of the life of a mafia family is condensed effectively in simple phrases and converstations among the characters. And ooooooh...the characters! There's not one cast member who wasn't born to play their role. If one were to look at some of "the making of the Godfather" stories or books and seen some of the originally sought after stars for this movie (Dustin Hoffman as Michael?? George C. Scott or Michael Caine as Vito Corleone??) you'd get a good chuckle. The family values throughout this movie are time honored and embraced, though in the context of this film, one might say hypocritical- a theme Coppola is known to touch on in many of his flicks (who can forget in Godfather Pt. II when Michael Corleone tells a senator, "We're all part of the same hypocrisy"). You know a movie is well made when you feel you know even the minorest of characters with minimal screen time and dialogue. And oooooooh...the dialouge. How much of it was incorporated into our day to day life. This is one of those movies where so many can recite a scene line for line. A masterpiece, pure and simple. The fastest 3 hour movie you'll ever watch. Take a bathroom break before it begins, cause you won't be able to peel yourself away from it once it begins.

Summary: This movie is genious!
Review: My God, this movie really let one inside the mind of the Mob! The performances were stellar! Brando was great, and so was Pacino...Sure, the movie is a bit long, so those with no attention span go home! But the plot is great, and it should keep you hooked!
