Summary: Family-friendly fun minus the farts
Review: Now-days, seems you have to have flatulence, penis/boob jokes, or a semingly endless string of un-related site gags to have it qualify as a comedy/mystery.

Private Eyes is a movie I would feel comfortable watching with my 65-year-old mother -- as well as my 18 and 6 year old kids. It is a funny -- ok, silly -- movie that (unlike many of the bodily-function-fests these days) actually does have a clever plot with an ending.

The running gags in the movie are cute and will entertain kids. Still, as an adult I found it fun to watch, too.

Summary: Wow, that editorial reviewer dosn't understand Gen-X humor
Review: Private Eyes is a before it's time soft spoof of the classic English Manor Whodunit, which I first saw as a child on HBO. It lacks the gross humor of modern spoofs, or wacky physical humor of modern comedy - instead relying a nice two edged comedy with overt jokes appreciated by children and subtle back story humor reminiscent of Shrek for the adults. Certainly it is predictible, but that is part of the charm of this kind of soft comedy, it plays like an old friend. It is a movie that I went out of my way to find for inclusion in my children's video library alongside The Princess Bride, because there is only so much Disney drivel that I can take.

Summary: SERIOUSLY FUNNY MOVIE
Review: I SAW THE PRIVATE EYES IN THE THEATRE WHEN I WAS 15 AND I HAVEN'T STOPPED LAUGHING AT IT SINCE. THE MIXED UP POEMS JUST KILL ME. DON KNOTTS AND TIM CONWAY DO WHAT THEY DO BEST AND SHINE BRIGHTLY IN THIS MYSTERY SPOOF. IF YOU ARE THIMKING OF BUYING A VIDEO OF THIS TYPE YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THE PRIVATE EYES.

Summary: A perfect movie to watch on a stormy saturday morning.
Review: Ive loved this movie for over ten years. Its simply a classic and underappreciated. If you do like this movie, I suggest you try "Clue". It is written in a similar fashion, while sort of based on the game. Anyways, if you are a fan of Don Knotts and Tim Conway, this is a must own. Its perfect to watch with the family since its not dirty at all. It pure fun to watch.

Summary: IT'S NOT VULGAR!
Review: If you miss the old type of comedy, which made you laugh your tuckus off without bad words and put-downs, you have to see this movie. Tim Conway is a genius of the old school, where you could be funny and remain a gentleman.

Summary: Private Eyes
Review: This is the absolute funniest movie you will ever see! The comedy of Tim Conway and Don Knotts is unbeatable. I've seen it over a dozen times and still laugh like crazy. This is the type of movie to watch when you just need to get away from all seriousness in the world. It is an absolute must see, must own! It never gets old.

Summary: Great Family Mystery
Review: This is a movie that you will always remember with humor. Its funny and rediculous at the same time, as is so much that Don Knotts and Tim Conway did. When ever the family gets together we stick this movie on and are assured of laughs and good memories of earlier times when the family was all together at home. Its good family fun.

Summary: Silly fun!
Review: Tim Conway and Don Knots work well together, and this movie does prove that. At times there are some direction problems, continuity problems, and even a couple of mic's in shots here and there. It obviously was low budget, but its definately one for the family, with bodily gags and some adult humor. Nothing extremely bad, and kids will find it funny.
Some really memorable lines come out of this, but in the end, its mostly bumbling idiot humor typical of the apple dumbling gang.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: I used to watch this film as a kid, and loved it. Now that I watch it as an adult, I still love it. The DVD has a commentary track with Tim Conway - the commentary by Conway is worth the purchase price of this DVD. He speaks of the immortal Don Knotts in glowing terms, he even said that this movie would be completely different without Don Knotts. If you enjoyed this movie in your younger days, give it a shot.
