Summary: It's so outrageous, it's a classic
Review: This movie takes the characters from the board game Clue, adds a few characters and adds a story of its own. This movie is interesting because the story is a 45 min span, but the movie is about an hour and a half. This is due to multiple events happening at the same time. The characters are funny, Mrs. Scarlett is clutch with her crude jokes. Mrs. Peacock is very proper and a great contrast to Mrs. Scarlett. Mr. Green is nervous and gay; Professor Plum is a homophobe and a perv. It's just so ridiculous, it's incredibly entertaining. If you're bored, it's a great movie to watch. WARNING- if you are a very serious person and/or Napoleonic about order, you will probably not like this movie.

Then all of a sudden every one who is in the house and who comes in dies. The cook, Evite the Maid, A motorist a singing telgram girl, a cop, and Mr.Body himself dies. Whodunnit? Summary: Overlooked, Underappreciated but Almost Perfect!
Review: SUMMARY: The famed board game from Parker Brothers comes to life in this side-splitting comedy. The whole cast of characters is here: Miss Scarlett (Lesley Ann Warren), Mr. Green (Michael McKean), Col. Mustard (Martin Mull), Prof. Plumb (Christopher Lloyd), Mrs. Peacock (Eileen Brennan), and Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn) are joined by sexpot maid Yvette (Colleen Camp) and the butler with all the answers, Wadsworth (Tim Curry). The colorful characters are gathered together in a creepy mansion in New England, circa 1954. All are being blackmailed for various nefarious deeds, and the bodies soon start dropping as the evening progresses. The police are closing in, and the main cast must solve the murders to save themselves and clear their names.

WHY YOU'LL LIKE IT: Stellar performances by some of the best character actors in the business enliven what otherwise could have been a very wooden and uneven script. You can watch this movie over and over again, searching for new gestures, looks, and witty gems hidden within the script. Standout deliveries from the uproarious Lesley Ann Warren and the absolutely sublime and brilliant late Madeline Kahn make this film a winner. The DVD has a nifty feature that allows you to play the movie with either all three endings at once, or play the film and have the disc select one ending at random.

WHY YOU WON'T: As clever and witty as the dialogue is, if you pay close enough attention, you'll be able to easily figure out "whodunit," as well as spotting many inconsistencies. Just let go and enjoy the film for what it is, and you won't be sorry. The film isn't perfect, but is immensely enjoyable if you allow it to be.

BOTTOM LINE: A screwball physical comedy with some of the wittiest banter in big-budget comedies, this film is a winner from start to finish. There's no bad language or overt sexuality or violence, which means you can watch it with your kids or even your fogey parents. Fun all the way around!

Summary: If you like the Game you'll LOVE the Movie!
Review: Definitely a great movie and one of my personal favorites, Clue-The Movie, brings to the screen a mystery set in 1954 in a mansion in New England involving an unlikely group of people that has been invited to dinner; one that they will not easily forget. Together they must try and solve a whole list of questions that linger all around. The actors' performances are outstanding, especially Tim Curry's character who as the butler, steals the show. The plot, the costumes, and the 3 different endings, are all wonderful, making this film one of the best of its kind.
Moreover, Clue is a movie with strong elements of comedy, tying in McCarthyism and the culture of the early 50's to create a very entertaining film indeed and therefore, a "must see" for those with a passion for mystery and comedy alike! In short, I would definitely line up to watch a sequel, and it would be about time too considering that the movie was made back in 1985!

Summary: ..like a spider with flies!
Review: as i've gotten older i've tried to become more discerning (at least with regards my movie and music reviews) which is to say less likely to hand out 5 star reviews like candy, but i'm sorry, this is a 5 star movie. Having just rented and watched the flick again for what must be the 107th time since it came out in '85 when i was 11, somehow i love it as much as i always have. Paper thin plot: all the charachters from the game are invited to dinner at 'That big ugly house on top of the hill' by an unknown host to settle a long standing confidential and financial liability that they all share. Then people start getting killed. So whodunit? That's the plot.
There's something about this movie. It's quite funny even after 19 years, it's (at least when i was 11) kinda spooky, and it's got Collen Kamp playing the maid. I think the flick has aged so well because, although it was made in the mid 80's it's set in the 50's so the flick doesn't really look any more dated than it did when it first came out. when you look closely you can see that the flick does have a couple strikes against it: it's quite short, paper thin plot, cheesy (tho hilarious) dialogue, plus its interesting to note that, near as i can tell it's only got 3 songs it the soundtrack: the score, 'Shake, Rattle and Roll' and something called 'Boom sh'boom'. The film succeeds fabulously anyway on the merits of the casts's classic performances. One of my 4 favorites of all time.

Summary: "Oh my, nobody can get into that position..."
Review: I've been a fan of the Clue board game for a long time, as well as reading the Clue solve-them-yourself kid's book series when I was younger. So you can imagine how excited I was when I found out they had made a movie based on it. While it seems wierd to base a movie on a board game, this movie dissolves all doubts and is a clever, witty and absolutely hilarious movie. The cast is top-notch and is a collection of several of the great comedians of our day, including Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Martin Mull and Michael McKean. The story provides a clever murder mystery while being suspenseful, thrilling and comedic at the same time. It also has some truly classic movie lines such as "Yep, two corpses, everything's fine." and "I DIDN'T DO IT!!" (which I still use whenever something happens around the house, whether I caused it or not). If you are looking for an all-around good movie, this is it.

Summary: Shake Rattle n Roll
Review: After watching this movie again for about the 100th time, I can safely say that it is still one of my favorite movies of all time. Madeline is amazing, and Tim rocks. Actually, the ensemble cast does a wonderful job overall. How many months of filming I wonder did they spend running around that set in those crazy clothes? I noticed tonight the subleties of color attributed to each character, the same or opposite of that used in the board game. And of course the tiled hallway... My dream is to have a Clue dinner party where everyone comes as a character, we play the game and then watch the movie together.
