Review: A very well written story about a deaf and mute hitman and the people around him.Good emotional acting from it`s stars and well directed.A bird`s eye view into the life of a hitman.You could not help but feel for Kong and his few friends.Through the films direction you are able to feel what it is like to be deaf and mute.Flashbacks occur throughout the movie to help you understand Kong`s world.If you like your movies well paced with action and drama.Then this just might be the movie for you.

Review: After reading the reviews and seeing the sound bites of reviewers in the DVD package, I set forth to buy Bangkok Dangerous. I was expecting a "hyperkinetic" movie, as one critic put it and a cinematic style that's "similar to John Woo and Quentin Tarantino". I got neither. What I got is a languidly paced film about a deaf-mute hitman eager to redeem himself for a pretty young pharmacist's love. Actually, that's the most interesting part of the movie, how the hitman communicates his love to Fon, the pharmacist. The gunplay, action, the pacing and the camera techniques are nowhere near what critics are comparing it to. There's no gimmicky non-linear storytelling. No "kewl" camera work. No "hip" editing. It is not like Tsui Hark's Time & Tide with its visually-stunning camera work and dense storytelling, instead it is more akin to Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai. Quiet, a little profound. The story is refreshingly simple but it kind of drags on in the middle, plodding to the point of predictable, it makes you wish it has one of those twists Thai TV commercials are known for in global advertising awards shows. All in all, Bangkok Dangerous is a refreshing film to see amidst the noisy action films of Hollywood and Hong Kong. But don't get misled by what's on the cover.

Summary: An excellent addition for the rising far eastern cinema
Review: After the success of Hong Kong and China's films outside the orient, young and capable directors from other far eastern countries started to find courage and chance to show their abilities in the world movie stage.
These 2 Hong kong brothers came up with an excellent and stylish movie which borrows some elements from Hong Kong cinema and melts them in their way of film making which is also not too far away from the video/MTV soil (so Wong Kar Wai was).
First of all if you are looking for a bloodshed and dead gangsters full of bullets you got it. But this aint a typical Hong kong action movie so do not expect hundreds of dead , Woo style explosions and "I fire two glocks while I jump and fly sideways" acts. Instead, we got more stylish screens with lots of beautiful colors that portrays Bangkok's neon nite time with the pounding music.(Wong Kar wai style)
Story is simple and straight. It's about friendship ,love, betrayal and revenge blended with innocence as well as the heavy gunsmoke.(typical gangster movie script) Characters are more human and vulnerable than typical HK action movies. The deaf hitman is similar of Besson's Leon who shoots people without a mercy but shy and innocent with his loved one and friends. Additionally his regret and clash with cold hard reality is beyond Leon in which we only witnessed his enemies as ruthless gangs not family man type TV producers etc.
Yes this film may not be as original as Wong Kar wai's films or as flashy as Woo's, Hark's or Lam's shoot outs. But it is very well crafted and most importantly balanced, thus making the movie fresh if not a groundbreaking example of a gangster movie.It is not a film for lovers of the Woo style films only but also for the lovers of independent movies made abroad.
Only the ending when girl friend arrives put some shadow over the story but hell, that kind of endings are very common in whole Asia.
To conclude , we have a very good example of an original Thai gangster movie which may not be staying too far from HK movies (not copying them rather inspired by them)but manages to remain fresh and very energetic. Thai cinema can be proud of this film.

Summary: The Thai that binds...sorry.
Review: Bangko Dangerous played a little too much like Kar Wai's Fallen Angels(deaf/mute hitman with somewhat arrested developement, similar music video like cinematography, etc) but was enjoyable none the less.
A deaf hitman goes about killing for pay, but stumbles on to a young girl(Premsinee Ratanasophacan) who sees past his handicap and the two fall for each other. Then he takes work home with him, showing the young girl his violent side(aimed at some confronting punks, not her) and coupled with the death of his friend and coworker, his seemingly intact world starts to fall apart.
I won't go on any further and spoil the film for you, but none of it's unexpected or totally new. Still, I don't regret watching the film and wouldn't mind purchasing the DVD simply because, when viewed just as a fim and not some new hope or whatever, it's a good movie.
Definately worth a rent and if you love movies like Leon, Ghost Dog or Fallen Angels, you might want to pick this one up.

Review: Bangkok Dangerous is a cool blast of daring and violent cinema that will have you enjoying every moment of its ultra-low budget "deaf"-defing trickery. The premise is simple - a dumb Thai hitman does not suffer from gun recoil because he does not hear the sound of his own gunfire and so has deadly accurate aim. He goes around Thailand knocking off criminals and crimelords but then has the fatal error of getting mixed up in some nasty business where innocent and important political people are killed. In the background there is the story of his brother assassin who is temporarily out of a job and a girl who works in the local chemist that he falls for.You have to see it for the camera work and editing and violent special effects. It really does dazzle and there is lots of techno in the soundtrack. To be honest this little gem from Thailand simply mashes most Hollywood action flicks. Great!

Review: Bangkok Dangerous is the story of Kong, a deaf-mute hit man in corrupt Bangkok. Kong, tortured by the other children because of his disabilities becomes a hit man, with the help of fellow out-cast, Joe. Together, they form a team of elite killers for hire, taking out targets throughout the city. When Joe loses the ability to shoot straight because of a hand-injury he becomes despondent, and Kong must take up the slack. Kong's deafness proves to be his greatest asset, as he is able to focus on his targets much more intensely than Joe. Unfortunately, his deafness also makes him lonely, as he finds it difficult to approach women. I'm a fan of Hong Kong drama, and give this movie 3 stars... Mostly because I failed to connect with either of the two major characters. The violent parts were overdone, and I never fully understood exactly WHY Kong became a hit man, or continued with this lifestyle after he met his girlfriend. This movie was heavy on violence, and might appeal to viewers who like dark arty films.... For me, it just left me thinking... NEXT...

This film is about the people who live in that city, in its margins, and its a fascinating and very satisfying film for fans of noir-ish dramas. Featuring extraordinary performances by Pawalit Mongkolpisit as a deaf-mute, but uncannily dead-shot talented janitor (Kong), recruited by Jo (Pisek Intrakanchit) to be hit-man, this film succeeds on at least two levels. One is the level of his relationship with Pisek's girlfriend (Aom), played by the beautiful Patharawarin Timkul. It also succeeds on the level of Kong's relationship with Fon, played by exquisite Premsinee Ratanasopha. The acting is sincere and honest where it could have easily been overwhelmed by the directors Danny Pang and Oxide Pang Chun, who show their skills behind the camera, but in sometimes overelaborate and distracting ways. The version I saw was carelessly edited to remove profanity and possibly objectionable violence, but I truly enjoyed it and would like to see a complete version, perhaps with actor and directors' commentary subtitled.

Review: I don't know what I expected from Bangkok Dangerous...maybe just another crazy action flick like Time and Tide (China). But what I got was a beautifully filmed adrenaline pumped movie with unbelievable directing and stunning cinematography. The cinematic style that this film was shot in was extremely sophisticated and as a filmmaker I really appreciated it. The story is pretty good, the visuals are great...in short, I highly recommend it. It's probably one of the best films I've seen come from Asia.

Review: i guess people did not like the Thailand cinema try and outdo HK cinema....this movie was not as good as ' a better tomorrow' ' the killer'. i thought it was prety original and creative the deaf hitman was too much, i think. his friend, had almost no purpose. his gf, whom happens to own a strip joint, got raped and gets killed at the end. now the grl that deaf hitman loves...i duno what's about her but i liked her acting.
the deaf hitman was good. he expressed his feelings without speaking so i give him props for that. some creative ideas in this movie watch it wit lil or no expectaion, then u will like it
