Summary: IT ROCKS !
Review: Almost the best Argento film ever. Only Susperia and Phenomena beats it out. Inventive, original and fun. I loved it.

Great package and presentation.

Summary: Worth the price of a rental...barely *(no spoilers)*
Review: If you're looking for Dario Argento's trademark cinematography, gore, and blazing rock soundtrack, then you're barking up the wrong movie my friend. Everything about this film is subpar: the camerawork is excellent, but the lighting and color saturation are weak (by Argento's high standards). The acting is so-so, but the film's bad dubbing makes the performances seem downright artificial. The murder scenes are bloody, but they're far from inventive. Gorehounds should take note that the most horrific murder scene in the film is also the best scene in the film...and it lasts for about half a minute. Fans of Argento's use of OTT musical scoring should also note that the title theme is very good indeed; however, Argento chooses to use this same theme over and over in lieu of a diverse soundtrack. By the third time I'd heard the theme, I was bored. Perhaps Argento thought that by making the film repetitive IN ALL RESPECTS that he was using recursion to drive home a point. Which reminds me: what WAS the point of this contrived "suspense/mystery/horror" film? Whatever it was, I'm sure Raymond Chandler wouldn't approve. Rent it, don't buy it.

Summary: A FINE ENTRY FROM THE MASTER OF ITALIAN HORROR
Review: WHILE NOT QUITE AS GOOD AS PHEMOMENA, THIS IS STILL A GREAT EXERCISE HORROR/SUSPENCE. AND GIVE ARGENTO CREDIT FOR CASTING A TRANSSEXUAL IN THE FLASHBACK SCENES. JUST KNOWING THAT MAKES THEM EVEN MORE FREAKY.

Review: All I know is.. Argento is one BMF...This is the way Horror films ought to look...you guys at Anchor Bay are to be commended also...keep 'em comin', I'll keep buyin'....why couldn't American horror films be this good??? Argento Rules!

Summary: Another gory slasher flick from Argento!
Review: Though not the directors best, this is never the less a good film. A writer is drawn into a nightmare world when a sadistic killer start's to copycat murders from his new bestseller, Tenebrae. Splattered in gore, the film's only downfall is it's sunny and bright atmosphere, which leaves the film without genuine scares.

Summary: One of the bloody best slasher movies ever.
Review: Once again, Anchor Bay has delivered the goods with a fully restored Argento movie and some nice extras. For this movie, Argento puts aside the paranormal shenanigans of Suspiria and Inferno and returns to the Giallo genre. An inspired slasher flick with a lot of plots twists, this is very bloody and violent and definitely not for the squeamish. My main (and pretty much only) complaint about Argento's films is the plausibility of the plot. It was hard for me to accept the motives behind the murders. But I have to give Argento credit. He can take the thinnest of plots, and still turn it into a 110 minute long, stylish, edge-of-your-seat thriller. And let's face it...compared to the American bloodfests of the 80s, Argento's plots are at least moderately interesting and literate.

Summary: A terrifying vision from the Italian master of horror.
Review: While not the best work of Italian horror master Dario Argento, Tenebrae does contains all of the directors nuances and operatic violence that has made him one of the more respected and accomplished filmmakers in the horror genre. The story of Tenebrae is somewhat muddled due to bad translation but it dwells on the themes of murder, hero worship, and madness as a terrible string of murders occur when a popular author appears in Rome to promote his new book. The murders are actually the high points of the film and seem to be better choreographed and edited then the rest of the movie. Especially 'pleasent' is the "paint the wall red" scene which will go down in film history as the bloodiest axe murder ever filmed. All in all, Tenebrae is not a bad film and does live up to expectations. Any fan of Argento and his work should rush out and buy this film.

Summary: So Great!
Review: This is the best looking DVD I've ever seen. It's uncut, Dario's talking over it and lots of stuff is on it. The perfect edition. You guys at Anchor Bay (Publisher) listen: I am really impressed.

Summary: widescreen version is whole different movie
Review: Having seen the hacked up release of this movie (called Unsane)a few years ago,and feeling it was merely ok. I am amazed at how different it lookes restored and in wide screen. Not Argento's best but still very very good.
