Rating: Summary: Creeps right up your spine Review: This is one of the creepiest and best ghost stories currently available. Most horror films center on blood, gore, and violence to shock the audience rather than scare them. This film will scare you straight out of your Hanes tighty-whiteys. I actually scared a guy out of the TV room with this one. This is the kind of movie that makes you pull the covers up over your head.
Rating: Summary: Atmospheric Thriller Review: Although it occasionally degenerates into silliness, The Changeling is by and large the most effective haunted-house thriller since the original "The Haunting." Played with considerable restraint by the cast and directed in a clean, uncluttered fashion, it should easily satisfy any one who wants ghostly chills rather than cheap slasher effects.
Rating: Summary: One of the all time BEST "scary" movies Review: I was young when I first saw this movie, but it has always stuck with me as my favorite haunting movie of all. It was the best movie for sleepovers, Halloween, and all-night movie bashes. I still remember being terrified to take a bath because I was certain that somone or something would try and drown me. I believe that growing up a rented this movie at least 20 times, so now I am just going to buy it! I totally urge any horror movie buff to see this movie ASAP.
Rating: Summary: Worth seeing even if you don't like ghost films. Review: This is by far the only movie that ever made me "Gulp". I always look up stairs now and hold my breath. Not only did this have enough scare factor to it, it was also interesting as the story unfolded. I would recommend this movie for both reasons. It contains an excellent combination of elements and it definately worth seeing.
Rating: Summary: Spine-Chilling And Then Some! Review: I haven't seen this film for over a year, therefore can't believe the chill that is sweeping over my body as I write this. Unlike so many supernatural films today, The Changeling largely ignores special effects and instead, draws on our deepest and most simple fears - the dark, or rather what's in it. I can't forget the terror I felt when George Lucas' character threw the ball up the stairs out of the way... ...to find it returned to him from out of the darkness a few seconds later, bouncing loudly down the stairs to land at his feet.
Rating: Summary: A CLASSIC HORROR MOVIE Review: EXCELLENT PREFORMENCES BY ALL THE ACTORS AND ACTRESS'S. ITS A VERY INTELIGENT MOVIE, YOU HAVE TO THINK IN THIS ONE. EASILY IN THE TOP FIVE HORROR MOVIES OF ALL TIME! TWO THUMBS WAY, WAY UP.
Rating: Summary: Ghost story packed with chills! Review: If you're looking for a rock solid ghost story, this is one of the best! George C Scott moves into a house haunted by the spirit of a dead boy.
Rating: Summary: Now THIS is Horror Review: What a classic. One of the (if not the) best horror movie I've ever seen. This is a movie that will leave you with vivid scenes and nightmares, unlike these new hokie Hollywood films with teeny-boppers running around with 4-foot knives, chopping each other up. In case Hollywood hasn't realized, that stuff isn't scary, just stupid. What's scary is psychological horror like this movie, which actually makes you use your head. The seance scene (all of it) and when the little girl sees the boy coming through the floor of her room still sticks in my head to this day. I could watch this flick 1000 more times and only get more out of it each time. If you like horror that's actually disturbing, not just random slaughtering, and that really stays with you, this is one of the best.
Rating: Summary: Good but not scary Review: Good performances, but hardly scary. It is more of a mystery/thriller
Rating: Summary: One of the all time best Horror videos Review: The Changeling is able to grab you in the same ways that the exorcist is able to grab you. You are at the whim of the suspense of the film. The Changeling utilizes suspense over gore, providing a ghost story unlike the sorts that relay on special effects and the like. The mood the director utilizes and the outstanding performance by Scott adds to the atmosphere, creating the brooding mood. The musical score, the choice of settings, all of the background mechanics makes this film outstanding. Scott's performance as the recently widowed symphony conductor is one of his best, and he delievers it with a grand sense of sincerity. It would be difficult to envision this work with any other leading actor, showing how ingrained he becomes to the work. If you are looking for a truly scary film, utilizing the mind of the audience rather than bloodsoaked special effects, The Changeling is for you.
