Summary: No Scene Selection, No Stars!
Review: I generally like Lynch's work, but I never thought I'd see a feature film on DVD that didn't have a basic Scene Selection menu! I fell asleep trying to watch this movie twice, and had to fast-forward forever just to find where I left off. Lynch probably thought this would be funny...

Summary: Worst. Movie. EVER.
Review: Typical David Lynch...is he paying the critics to write positive reviews for his disjointed, badly played bits of weirdness?

Summary: I'd rather jab stakes under my nails.
Review: than watch this movie a second time. This was by far the most wasted hour of my life! I do not recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys an actual plot!
To bo honest, I can't possibly say enough horrible things about this movie!
If you enjoy frustration and an acid trip without the help of drugs, this will do it for you.
Don't waste your time!

Summary: A First-time Lynch Film Viewer Offers His Opinion
Review: I had not seen any of Lynch's works previous to this movie, but from what I've heard this is his utter triumph. I can't speak based out of comparison to his other films, but simply on its own, I find it to be the most incredible film I have had the pleasure of viewing. After the first watching, I will admit that I was MASSIVELY confused and immediately sought out friends who had seen the movie to get an explanation. This was a gigantic mistake. My recommendation to anyone about to see this film for the first time is to watch it over at least twice or even three times before consulting outside sources. The answers ARE there, it just takes time to figure out all the clues. Based off of this film, I would say that Lynch is one of the best directors I know of today. A friend of mine has said that she believes he is even more of a brilliant surrealist than Salvador Dali, and I can't help but agree with her. Watch this masterpiece and savor it.

Summary: WHAT???
Review: I have watched this movie three times and I still can't figure the thing out. I've tried, I've asked other people who have watched it with me and they can't figure it out either.

So I have now given up and Mulholland Drive is now a dust collector in my DVD storage case.

Go figure ?!!

Summary: I am just a normal guy
Review: Sometimes it seems like filmmakers go out of their way to make a film "artsy" or "not understandable to the average viewer."

I am just a average guy looking for some entertainment from home videos. Mulholland Drive was wacked!

The film is centered around a car crash that takes place on Mulholland Drive, one that leaves Naomi Watts with a case of amnesia. She stumbles into a woman's apartment, falls asleep and is awoken by the woman's neice.

This is where my understanding of the movie ends. Beyond the first half hour it becomes weirder and weirder. I finally gave up on it and went to bed.

In my opinion, most people who claim they love movies like this are guilty of letting the critics shape their opinion. They are quick to jump on the bandwagon, but for the most part, fail to have a deep understanding of the film.

As an average guy, I had no idea what this movie was about. I have placed it in my "critically acclaimed, but too confusing to understand" movie category. Other movies in this category would include: Momento, Pulp Fiction, Requiem for a Dream, Pi, and Vanilla Sky.

Don't waste your time.

Summary: Absolute Junk from a Has Been Director
Review: David Lynch, if your reading this, Mulholland Dr. was the same material you were producing ten years ago on "Twin Peaks." The goal of an artist is to move ahead, not to stagnate for ten boring years! This "movie" was the worse piece of garbage I have seen "The Brady Bunch Christmas Special". This abysmal piece of junk might fool some who are easily fooled by the "arts and croissant" crowd into believing this is art. The dialogue was forced and phoney, the acting more phoney than the script, and the story flat out boring. Even the lesbian scenes were boring; how is that even possible! I have seen commericals for cellular phones that are more artistic than this. Any finacial executive that gives David Lynch a penny for any future film might was well throw his money out the window and let it fall into the street gutter.

Summary: Masterpiece for select audiences
Review: The primary purpose of any review is: should you see it and how will you react? The answer here depends on which of two camps you belong to.

If you are like the great majority of individuals who prefer conventional movies that spoonfeed them like babies, forget about it.

If you enjoy a daunting challenge, you will be frustrated, confused, exasperated...and endlessly fascinated.

The first time you watch Mulholland Dr, you will be drawn in and mesmerized by a continuous stream of wonderful scenes, many of which are destined to become cinematic classics. You will also be clueless.

The second time you view this movie, you will begin to become aware of the structure of the film and put together a few pieces of the puzzle, but you will have a very long list of questions.

On subsequent viewings, you will answer some of your questions, raise new questions, and (perhaps most interesting) realize that some the answers you had earlier are wrong.

Mulholland Dr is to movies as chamber music is to music in general: you must have the insight, the curiosity, the openmindedness to be receptive to its meaning. Remember that, unlike in other movies, nothing here is thrown in casually or haphazardly. Assuming that every detail has some importance is the (blue) key to unlocking the mysteries in Mullholand Dr.

Summary: Weird, weird movie!!!
Review: It was hard for me to get into this film, and understand it!! Most of the movie revolves around two women trying to find out where one came from and the owner of a lot of money. They end up falling for each other, and the movie only gets weirder from there. I would deffinately say watch it, if you are in the mood for a different type of movie!

Summary: Hear Ye, Hear Ye, I see the truth behind this film.........
Review: LA. A city of dark-seeded passions and false fantasies. It can be a city that consumes the naive with hopes of being someone bigger, meaning something larger. We know. We know. But wait, this is not just an average film about vanquished hopes and overwhelming trials in the city of celebrity, this is a David Lynch film, therefore, it must have a DEEPER meaning. Let's go and see shall we........

Two girls meet in LA. One, a blonde, is a classic girl-next-door type who will have every viewer falling in love with her. The other girl, a brunette, has seemingly lost her memory and will have every guy lusting profoundly after her. The dark haired gal was almost killed in the beginning of the film - twice. The two gals meet up and the blonde - ever ready to help a hottie(I'll explain in a moment) - does her best to help the other lady find out her indentity. Then, right when we're thinking that maybe Lynch won't pull any of his usual "deep and artistic" stuff, we're abruptly taken into Lynchland........

The two girls are lesbians(nice touch, Davey, especially for the porn-hounds out there), and they seem to change identities on numerous occasions, throwing off every single viewer into utter disorder and confussion. It is during these confusing segments that the Lynch-lovers out there instantly say to themselves: "WOW, what an artistic delight. ...
