Summary: Grease IS the word!
Review: I fell in love with this movie when I was 3 years old when I heard John Travolta singing the final song "You're the one that I want" with Olivia Newton John. This movie/musical is my all time favorite. It is filled with a varity of wonderful characters who are played by terrific actors and actresses. I would reccomend this movie to anyone! Also see Grease II. It's not the same, but if you watch in enough times it grows on you.

Summary: This movie is a great musical!
Review: The music in this film is so good I would suggest buying the soundtrack. Sandy a real goodie-goodie falls in love with Danny a real bad boy. Danny is part of the in crowd but Sandy has to decide wether or not to hold onto her child hood ideas of being a goodie goodie or become a little wild. The songs and cheography are wonderful. This is a classic everyone should watch. My friends and I love this movie. We read the play books, qoute the movie, and listen to the soundtrack all the time. This movie is awesome!

Summary: COMPLETELY ENJOYABLE
Review: Now a part of our everyday culture, this movie blasted into theatres in 1978 and took off -- it has never stopped entertaining the masses, me included. Though it is considerably slicked-up and watered-down from the original B'way musical (which was a lot grittier), it is consistently enjoyable and features a wonderfully sparkling ensemble of performances. John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John remain a delightfully imperfect team of cartoon lovers; they share a real chemistry and what fun to see them perform in outlandishly campy musical numbers; Stockard Channing, thought at least 10 to 15 years beyond high school age, digs into the role of Rizzo with relish, and manages to be moving at the same time. Eve Arden and Dody Goodman are priceless in their principal and assistant roles. Transformed into a kind of cotton-candy fantasy, GREASE the movie contains many of the 50s cliches and mores that made the musical on stage so appealingly on-target, but coats everything with a mostly appealing veneer of sweetness. The added-for-the-film only musical numbers, thought not exactly typical 1950s pop fare, are breezy, catchy and fun, and have a commercial sound that certainly caught on.

Summary: Most fun film ever made!
Review: I realize that Grease is not Citizen Kane. But it shouldn't matter when it comes to entertainment, as long as the film doesn't insult your intelligence. I remember first seeing this movie when I had just turned 13 and will remember the feeling as long as I live. Grease is colorful, glossy and sincere in it's satire. And the chemistry between the very sexy John Travolta and the ultimate beauty of Olivia Newton-John only happens a handful of times every decade. Paramount truly dropped the ball in 1998 when they O.K'd the rerelease for the late winter of that year and not wait until the summer, I guarantee it would have made more money! Grease is a summer movie and will always hold a special place for people who were lucky enough to see it in the theaters.

Summary: I'll Tell You More!
Review: A hit! What else can I say? This movie is a great view of teenage lives in the late 1950's, early 1960's. Though the actors are a bit old to play high school kids, they can do it very well. The music is so original and awesome, and the non-stop comedy is great! To enjoy Grease the best, I recommend buying the 20th Aniversary Edition, and if you can't, that's ok, you'll like it just as much. I have never seen the Broadway version or any play version, but this version is really great! Watch it right away. I would compare this movie to "Hairspray", another must-see!

Summary: A disappointment if you saw the broadway musical
Review: The producers of the film made too many changes like adding new numbers that weren't in the broadway version; this really distorted the quality of this musical. Also several of the numbers were relegated to being background jukebox music; this I felt was totally unfair to the music writers. Anyway, the film still manages to entertain even though it could have been much better.

Summary: Incredibly fun and entertaining!
