Review: The Ego has landed - on his face. Flatleys posturing, costumes, makeup and the name "Feet of Flames" are ludicrous, completely laughable. It would have been better called Dance of the Dork.

Summary: Stupendous show except for its star....
Review: Absolutely brilliant and breathtaking in every way except one...Michael Flatley. He should have stopped when he was ahead! I saw him perform only 13 months prior to starring in Feet of Flames and he was incredible then...however his performance in FOF was disappointing, his posturing, grimaces, and pretentious solo was an embarrassment. He's gone 'soft' in the body and shows none of the style, bearing , or stamina of previous shows. However, this new take on "Lord of the Dance" is a visual and musical delight. The new dances "Dance Above the Rainbow" and "Dance of Love" are fabulous. (They weren't choreographed by Flatley, Marie-Duffy choreographed "Dance Above..." and the incredibly talented young John Carey (formerly Flatley's understudy and the former star of Lord of the Dance troupe 2) choreographed "Dance of Love".) The video combines the best parts of the actual performance with parts of the dress rehearsal. Bernadette Flynn, Daire Nolan, Helen Egan, Anne Buckley, and Ronan Hardiman's new music are outstanding; Gillian Norris looks gorgeous but doesn't dance enough. The real stars of the show are the 100 plus dancers from troupes 1 and 2 and the new dancers hired for this show. I never tire of watching this video, despite the sorry performance of the once amazing Flatley.

Review: This video is wonderful, and I would recommend it to anyone. It will blow you away. Michael is the hottest Irish Dancer in the world. Not only do I love the dancing, but I could listen to the CD of this video all day, everyday. I would recommend viewing his two other videos before watching Feet of Flames. I wish I could watch it LIVE!

Summary: Best entertainment in my household! GREAT!
Review: My husband and I enjoyed Lord of the Dance tremendously, but the whole dance troupe has outdone itself in this expanded version -- Feet of Flames. It is still Lord or the Dance, but now has a few added scenes/dances and some of the originals seem to have been improved some. We still love Lord of the Dance, but Feet of Flames is so much better. One of the notable things about Feet of Flames is the amazing music and dance make you feel wonderful ... very uplifting. We watch this show often and wish Feet of Flames would come out on DVD (which lasts a lifetime), but until then I am buying a second copy because we don't want to be without a copy someday when we wear out the video and it goes OOP!

Summary: new tricks for an old dog
Review: I admit, I've always been ignorant about Irish culture. Untill I obtained "Riverdance" the only thing Irish about me was my two cd's by The Chieftains. I thought that video was the epitome of Irish dance. Then I wittnessed the final closing moments of "Lord of The Dance" and knew I had to have it. Next came "Feet of Flames" which I have to admit, I enjoyed slightly more than LotD, because of the slower camera shots. Michael Flatley, in my opinion, is a fantastic dancer, who may have an inflated ego, but with his phenomenal rise to stardom, he deserves it. Give the guy a break. I think he's a pretty cool dude. The dance troupe is extremely capable, and the young ladies are genuine eye candy. A special salute to ms Anne Buckley whose charm and grace and melodious voice are a treasure to all those who would see her and hear her sing. I hope the rumor is true that she will be making an album on her own. Best of luck to her. Finally, I feel that FoF and RD should not be compared with each other, as some are wont to do. They are two different shows, and both should be enjoyed on their own merit. Believe it, Feet of Flames is a show to see. Live if possible,(when is it coming to Oklahoma)or at least by video. I'm still quite ignorant of Irish culture, but I'm learning, and at 60 years old, I know what I like. I believe if you view this video, you'll like it too. If not, relief is only a trashcan away.

Summary: An entertaining embellishment of Lord of the Dance
Review: It appears that, at least for the moment, Michael Flatley has found a niche that he is comfortable with and that he intends to carve ever deeper. He accomplishes that purpose handsomely with Feet of Flames. Much of the material in this show is taken directly from Lord of the Dance, but there are a number of impressive additions, including a spectacular combat dancing sequence near the end. Feet of Flames maintains the Celtic slant established by its predecessor and is powerfully performed by a dynamic group of dancers, spearheaded by Flatley's magnificent work. The video itself is far superior to Lord of the Dance in that the constant cut-aways and angle changes have been largely done away with. The production quality is superb and the music breathtaking, particularly in surround sound or with a sub-woofer. As with Lord of the Dance, there is a raw, sensual feel to Feet of Flames that adds to the inherent excitement of Irish Dance. Flatley's flamboyant interpretations and variations on classic moves add to the visual impact. From start to finish, this is an outstanding entertainment event.

Review: Michael Flatley and his dancers are extraordinary in this newer version of Lord of the Dance (LOTD). They added 10 new songs/dances to Feet of Flames and absolutely stunning special effects and staging. For a special treat, Michael plays 2 flute solos. Big NEWS: He is returing to the stage for a very limited run of FoF in 2000. He will dance ONE venue in the US - New York, in Oct. 2000. If you can not attend the show, order this video instead!

Summary: A farewell to the king.
Review: I have read the other preveiws of the movie. Some are positive and some are very negative. It seems that most of the negative was from boreing puritists or "dancers" that in no way shape or form could ever match Flatleys level. Yes Micheal has an evident ego, but if I could dance one fourth as well as he could at his age, I would have an ego to. I am starting Irish dance in a couple of weeks my self and am very excited. I hope that my teacher does not promote limiting and the deluted version that these purists promote. The Irish cultur that I have researched about is an exciting culture full of life and energy, I also think that since Micheal is about as Irish as they come, he would no alittle about the way that the Irish have danced. Micheal created Riverdance and LOTD and FOF. How many of us can say the same. So give credit were credit is due, and let the first man with no sin cast the first stone against Micheal. To everyone else please watch the movie and dream as Micheal does and enjoy a Irish inspired extravaganza!!!!!!!!!!!!!,,,it is worth every penny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Summary: Flatley enhances his Lord of the Dance to the ultimate level
Review: Michael Flatley adds and enhances routines and songs to make this video the best it can be. I throughly enjoyed the improvements to Lord of the Dance, however, there were a couple of songs I missed from the original. All-in-all, his best work. He will be missed!
