Summary: Breathtaking!
Review: Michael Flatley is a treasure, possibly the eighth wonder of the world. (Hey, can I help it if I think he is also the sexiest dancer ever!) He is one of those people who is a true overachiever, and his talent seemingly knows no bounds. I recently bought Lord of the Dance, and have watched it a number of times. I must admit to fast forwarding through some of the parts Michael isn't in, but the video has something for just about everyone. If this video doesn't convince guys that dancing is not a "gay" thing, nothing will! Michael, and all of the dancers, are extremely athletic. The sets, lighting, and music are inventive and exciting. What a great way to learn something about Irish culture!

Summary: Riverdance outcast recast!
Review: Not as good as Riverdance (Michael Flatley's ego is more involved in this one), this is still an entertaining show. The main fault of this production is the horrible video direction that makes you feel as though you can reach out and lick the feet of the dancers. This should have been shot as a theatrical production and less like a pop video for MTV!

Summary: Step-dance taken to extreme beauty
Review: If someone would have told me 2 years ago I would buy a video about step-dance I would have declared him crazy. That was until I saw a commercial for the Lord of the Dance show when I was visiting London two years ago. I immediatly bought the cd, and have now bought a dvd-player especially for the Lord of the Dance DVD. I was lucky enough that the Lord of the Dance show visited Belgium two weeks ago. It was stunning although Flatley was not in it. But to see Flatley I have the DVD, havn't I ?

I'm awaiting the release of Feet of Flames DVD !!! Great. Great. Great.

Summary: No disputing it, Flatley is stunning!
Review: Lord of the Dance is not merely a show, it is nothing short of a spectacle. Flatley takes step-dance to new heights. With enough black leather to cover a heavy metal army, lighting worthy of a rock concert, great traditional music with just a hint of updated sound, an actual storyline, and of course, the greatest dancer in the world leading a stunningly talented troupe, Lord of the Dance is in a class by itself. The minor complaint is that there is not enough camera work on the dancers' feet, although with Flatley's skill at making love to the camera, one can get by. END

Summary: The best Irish Dancing film on the market.
Review: Michael Flatley at his best. He's amazing! Brilliant choreography, excellent direction and music. Superb cast. All members of the family will enjoy it. Don't miss it. END

Summary: chopping block
Review: Although the "Lord of the Dance" is comprised of some of the most talented dancers and choreographers of Irish Dance, one cannot enjoy it or even NOTICE the steps. The camera's shots may be great, but they have been subjected to the chopping block into tiny increments of barely discernable steps. I got a head-ache from watching the moves though a strobe-light. A re-make is in order.

Summary: Lord of the Prance.
Review: Huh????

Why didn't they call it "Michael Flatley's 'Look at Me!' Show?"

Summary: Your Only Chance -- Grab It
Review: I loved the various camera angles. I found them to enhance experiencing as much of the excitement as a camera could allow. Lord of the Dance is "raw" Michael Flatley -- the guts, the grit, and the glory of his talent. And the fact is, that Michael hung up his dancing shoes in 1999. I saw Riverdance live on stage for the 1st time lately. Sure, live is always better. But if you're expecting to see Flatley perform live, you'll have a long wait. He has retired from performing -- so the videos Lord of the Dance, Feet of Flames, and Riverdance are your only chance to see his genius now. Unlike Riverdance, the Show (which is also totally amazing in its own right, including the hauntingly beautiful singing, the drumming, fiddling and collage of ethnic dance), Lord of the Dance has more plot, more story. A beginning, middle and end. I think Michael Flatley is probably the most talented dancer that ever lived -- and if you want to experience the magic, get this video! I doubt that there will ever be another like him. (I especially liked the camera angle from under a transparent floor section. Awesome.) The Riverdance phenomenon and Flatley's dancing have touched and changed my life forever. Grab these while you can.

Summary: An insult to Irish dance and tradition
Review: This... was... terrible. The camera angles were awful, you never really get to see the dancing, and I am sorry, but I think that there are better Irish dancers than Michael Flatley. His ego overwhelms his dancing talent. This movie isn't about Irish dancing, it's about a fantasy in Flatley's mind. I'll stick with Riverdance, thanks.
