Summary: Dazzling and mezmorizing!!
Review: Lord of the Dance is worth the money. The first time I watched it, I was hypnotized by the speed and the accuracy. Even after seeing it about fifty times, I still find something new I never saw before that makes it the most interesting thing I've ever seen. As Michael Flatley bursts on stage, you get filled with a rushing sensation, and you can't help but want to get up and dance with him. I especially enjoy Siamsa because it's not too fast, not too slow, and the costumes are the best. I myself am an Irish step-dancer, and I know this show doesn't follow the strict rules of regular step-dancing, but that is what makes it so much more interesting! I could watch this show over and over and never get bored. Gypsy is sexy, Warriors is evil, The Duel is exciting, and Victory is glorious! There just aren't enough words to describe it! I hope everyone does see how interesting and electrifying this show really is! Thank you so much Michael, and his troupes, for bringing this show to our hearts and our feet!!

Summary: A disappointment and a complete waste of money.
Review: I was extremely disappointed in this video. The rapid camera angle switches made it impossible to get into the sense and flow of the dance. The film quality was poor, the stage seemed too small, and the lighting and smoke distracted from and obscured the dancers. The slow motion effect was used far too much. Once or twice to appreciate the intricate footwork would have been enough; however, it was constantly interrupting the rhythm of the dance. It was a travesty of a wonderful show. Don't waste your money or your time on this one. I'm surprised and disappointed to see Amazon.com carrying a product of such poor quality. This purchase has made me very wary of buying anything else from this Internet site.

Summary: A sad disappointment
Review: A travesty of Michael Flatley's earlier work in Riverdance, this soulless production is unworthy of the rare talents of Flatley and the other performers. The skillful dance is all but obliterated by flashing lights, smoke, and chaotic camera switches. Endless slow motion shots insult the dancers and the audience. The "story line" is phoney and gratuitous. Flatley makes a spectacle of himself, wandering away from the group in mid-dance to fondle and kiss the leading female dancer, casting himself in ridiculously self-aggrandizing poses, and whipping up the screaming live audience by shouting back at them, "Yes ... yes!" It's a sad thing to see Irish music and dance profaned by one of the very artists who brought them to the rest of the world.

Summary: Understand the Character
Review: After reading other reviews, I feel I have to explain this to many people who believe "Lord of the Dance" is strictly an ego trip for Michael Flatley. Look at the character he is portraying. The title alone explains this. The character needs to be ego-driven, better than all, and yes the camera should focus on his feet. Why would you want the video if you didn't want to see the dancing? If you don't like Michael Flately, go see Lord of the Dance on stage, he is no longer performing with the group. Otherwise, put down your swords and enjoy this video. He does a tremendous job, and like it or not, he portrays the character the way it was written. This isn't Riverdance, so why compare it. This is focused on a story, there are more colors and theatrics, and the dancers are allowed to show their enjoyment for what they do.

Summary: Too Much Lighting
Review: While the music and dancing were excellent, it was impossible to see the dancers, because of the lighting. The screaming girls in the audience was also very distracting.

Summary: WWWOWWWW!!!!
Review: My 10 year old son (who has never shown any interest in dance,in any form) and I sat mesmerized for the length of the cassette. The troup is amazing!!! Watching it truly moved me, almost to the extent of a religious experience.

Summary: Fast paced Irish dancing. A must see for ALL!!!
Review: Great Action adventure ... and no guns needed! An excellent cinematographic version of a broadway great.

Summary: BREATHTAKING! - FULL OF CONTAGIOUS ENERGY!
Review: Michael Flatley wonderfully transforms the traditional Irish dance into a spectacular and exciting masterpiece. The music and the concept itself are magnificent.

Summary: Dissapointing
Review: I don't like Flatley. I never have. Not since he thought he was too good for RiverDance anyway. Would you believe that he wanted RiverDance to be actually called "Michael Flatley's RiverDance"? I didn't at first. But after seeing his dance techniques on the video, I firmly believe that he is nothing but a show off. I mean, would you get up on stage in front of the world half naked?

The dancing was very good and so was the music.

Summary: One man show
Review: The video is really good, but Riverdance still outdoes this one. Michael Flatley is the only star of the show, outdancing even the other important characters. In most instances, the camera is zoomed to the "lord's" face and feet, so you actually see very little of the other dancers. He probably thinks he can do the show without the back-ups. The music is cool though.
