Review: Not much to say. I found it absolutely charming. The dancers are all very good, especially considering their ages. Anthony Dowell gives his expected expert performance. This would make an excellent introduction to ballet for children, perhaps inspiring them like "The Red Shoes" did when I was young.

Review: The ballet of 'Peter and the Wolf' is well-known, and this performance is a straight-forward presentation of it. Here, the students of the Royal Ballet School - the school Billy Elliot auditioned for - participate to great effect. Girls may not appreciate that a boy is the center of attention, but David Johnson as Peter looks like he's thoroughly enjoying his role. The performance is only 30 minutes long, and there are no extras. Nevertheless I highly recommend this DVD to adults and kids. ...

Summary: A delightful little ballet.
Review: This is a delightful little ballet. You don't have to be interested in either Prokofiev or the ballet to enjoy it. The young students of the Royal Ballet School and their costumes are just perfect. I especially liked the little bird and the cat. The dancers not only depict living creatures but also a wall, water in a pond, a field of grass, leaves of a tree and a whole forest. The sound of the orchestra is much more natural than one gets in a movie soundtrack, 5.1 channel or not.

Review: We got this because it was packaged by Amazon with The Nutcracker. As it turns out, my daughter (who is now 3) absolutely loves it.

The dancers and choreography is outstanding. It's short (30 minutes), but perfect for a young child that you want to introduce to ballet.
