Summary: A $15 Commercial
Review: After hearing rave reviews of the Baby Einstein series, I didn't want my new baby to be deprived so I went out and bought Baby Beethoven. I was VERY dissappointed to find that I had actually bought an infomercial for my child. The light & colorful portions were slightly interesting to her, but the puppets and the toys made her bored and she was annoyed after only 10 minutes. Why would I want to have my baby sit in front of a TV and watch toys instead of me playing with my baby with the toys we have? I won't even try any of the others. I won't waste anymore money.

Summary: Bit better than other Baby Einsteins but no dev. attributes
Review: I've written a few comments on "Baby Einstein" and I'm not a big fan generally. This one may be slightly better b/c there is some correlation to the music with the images but still very little. When in desperate need of a 30 minute break, it can do the job but I'm not a big fan of just allowing her to watch TV in a trance. They don't call it "baby crack" for nothing. Also, the videos all say that they're for ages 0-3 which is silly. No 3 year old (or 18 month old for that matter!) will ever stay focused on these videos and I'm always bothered by the use of the word "Einstein" in the title as if to imply your baby will BENEFIT from the videos. The music is synthesized too which doesn't help with the development of a babies appreciation for music (and spatial reasoning and all of the things that The Mozart Effect espouses.

"Fantasia" is one of my top picks if you're interested in beautiful music and lovely images. It's not a developmental video obviously, but is a classic. For stimulation and Mozart Effect type of results, the best option I've found so far is "Juno Baby". They focus on shapes, counting, and have cute characters that all of the babies in my play group love. They only have one video on their website but are supposedly coming out with another one soon. They're not too easy to find yet either which is not a positive for them - that's their biggest shortcoming.

As I've mentioned in some other posts though, if you do have the time, it's better to interact with your baby, perhaps while listening to classical music. Just getting some little drums or tambourines out is cute and might even help teach a bit of rhythm and timing.

Summary: Scared my son!!!
Review: My son loved Baby Mozart right from the start, but he is 8 months old and Baby Bethoven really scared him. At several points in the video, something pops out of nowhere with a scary sound- like a toy spider- and he actually screamed and started crying! It was awful. I am saving the video for when he is hopefully older but just wanted to pass this along for other parents.

Summary: Great Video
Review: Like someone else said, my 5 month old daughter will immediately stop whatever she's doing when she hears the music from this DVD starting. She's glued to the screen for the entire 27 minutes of the show. The first time I put it on for her, she got fussy after about 7 minutes. The next time after about 10. Then she started sitting through the whole DVD. She loves it! I really wish I could find another video that would hold her attention the way this one does, as she's wearing this one out. Baby Mozart was good, but not as good as Baby Beethoven. It's by far my daughter's favorite DVD.

Summary: 7 WEEKS OLD AND LOVING IT!!!!
Review: I thank this dvd for allowing me to have some time for my own. I put my baby on his bouncer in front of the tv and he becomes enthranced. This is the only entertainment apart from his parents that holds his attention. Highly reccomend it.

Summary: Get them while they are young
Review: My son received this video and another Baby Einstein when he was a year old. He didn't have much use for them because at that time he was already on to Elmo. My four month old daughter just joyfully watched this for 20 minutes and then quietly fell asleep! Nothing short of a miracle. Anything that puts a baby to sleep without a fuss deserves 5 stars.

Summary: Rinky dink video
Review: My child was not interested in this video at all! The way in which the information was disseminated in the video is no better than what I give to my child just sitting in front of him with flash cards or a book. And the silly theatrics of the video are horrible, my point, this video is garbage!

Summary: A Magical Baby Magnet!
Review: My 10-month-old has loved this DVD since he was tiny! He stops in mid-crawl to look at the television when he hears the familiar music. No other show gets the same type of reaction from him.

I highly recommend this DVD for parents of busy-bodied children, like mine. It truly settles him down and gives me a little bit of cuddle time with him!!

Summary: What a great dvd!
Review: What a great dvd! My daughter loves them, and since they don't have obnoxious singing kids or sappy sweet characters, my husband and I don't mind them. The only drawback is you still get the music stuck in your head, but hey, it's Beethoven, so it could be much worse! I don't know why my daughter gets so engrossed in these movies, but she does. My husband and I can now even leave her with a sitter and she's just fine. I don't like to plop her in front of the TV very often, but a few times a week gives me the opportunity to put away groceries, pick up a bit...etc. Wow! There's nothing else like it.

Summary: An eye-catcher for my son!!
Review: This video is the best in the series in my opinion. He absolutely loves it and talks to the screen consistantly (he is 3 months old). It's fun to watch with him and talk to him about what he is seeing. It has saved me through his crabby times. It always calms him down.
