Rating: Summary: Don't believe the "professional" critics! Review: THE best Christmas movie ever made! Appologies to "It's a Wonderful Life". A "must see" during Christmas time at our house. After reading the "critics" reviews of this movie, I am covinced that they have no idea what is truly entertaining to the American public. The songs are classics and the acting is perfect for this kind of fare. Watch this movie once and you will watch it every Christmas until eternity. Screw the critics!!!
Rating: Summary: This movie is great, great, great! Review: I saw this movie when I wa a child in the theater. Now we watch the video every year! My VCR ate my copy so I bought another. I cannot do without it. It is a tradition. The songs are great. Albert Finney did a great job playing an old Scrooge (He was in his twenties when he made the movie.). This is the best and most fun version of A Christmas Carol. If only I can find the soundtrack.
Rating: Summary: Just as good as Oliver!! Review: A fun movie to watch. Absolutely as good as Oliver. This Dickens story truly gets everyone from 6 to 100 in a good Christmas mood! Recommended for everyone!!!
Rating: Summary: One of my most favorite movies ever! Review: I have watched this movie dozens of times. I love the costumes, the scenery, the acting, and the music. It might be a little corny, it might not follow Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" that well, but it is an excellent feel good movie. Every year my Christmas season is never quite complete until I have watched this movie.
Rating: Summary: Don't start Christmas without it. Review: Right after Thanksgiving, the children start asking,"When are we going to watch Scrooge?" Viewing this movie heralds the beginning of the Christmas season at our home. We have 3 classics that we like to view, but if we had to choose only one to see, Scrooge would win a unanimous vote. The music is wonderful and definitely unforgettable. Unlike most musicals where the actors "burst into song" at unlikely moments, the music is sprinkled in at precisley the right time. Albert Finney gives an Oscar worthy performance as the penny-pinching old miser. Make seeing this movie a part of your Christmas tradition. It prepares your heart for the true meaning of Christmas.
Rating: Summary: There is NO OTHER CHRISTMAS MOVIE TO WATCH! Review: Finney is brilliant, and the sleeper is Alec Guiness as Jacob Marley, his acting is astounding and will have anyone watching with any attention laughing themselves silly at his portrayal of Scrooge's late partner. The songs are great, forget what the "critics" said. A MUST SEE!
Rating: Summary: The best version of "A Christmas Carol" on video Review: Without a doubt the best version I've ever seen. I watch this movie at least once if not two or three times every Christmas. I've owned my own copy for over 10 years.
Rating: Summary: An absolutely wonderful version of the Christmas Classic! Review: Very well done and enjoyable adaptation of the Dickens' classic. The music score adds a light-heartedness not seen in other versions. Certainly the best Ghost of Christmas Present of them all. This is a must-own movie.
Rating: Summary: One of the best Feel Good Movies ever made Review: I first saw Scrooge in 1970 at the theaters and it left a lasting effect on me. Now my family watches it every year. Once again the critics really missed the boat on this one. The songs in Scrooge are simple and fun. I would love to see a remake of this movie with the same songs and old fashion feeling it gives. I thought I was the only one in the world who looked forward to the holidays just because of this movie.I am happy that there are many other Scooge Fans out there. SEE THE MOVIE
Rating: Summary: My Family's Favorite Version Review: Each year this is a part of our holiday tradition. Finney is an incredible Scrooge, with realism that goes right down to his fingernails. Unlike some musicals where the songs destroy the flow of the movie, the songs flow so smoothly here that you hardly notice that it is a musical. I recommend it for your family.
