Summary: Our Favorite Christmas Movie
Review: The Albert Finney "Scrooge" is our family's favorite Christmas movie. As an individual, I still enjoy some of the more serious treatments of the Christmas Carol. However, none of them produce the sheer holiday wonderment that we find in this movie. The musical numbers are fabulous...some are touching and some will make you want to dance. The special effects are a step up from the older versions and enhance the spookey "ghost of Christmas future" fun that many of us enjoyed in this traditional Christmas story. The romantic parts are moving, as are the nostalgia of Scrooge's early days. The costumes and old English feel are wonderful. Any way you view it, this movie abundantly stirs up all the heart-warming joys and sensations of the Christmas season. Please, please release the DVD, so that we can appreciate this wonderful music even more in a full 5.1 digital treatment.

Summary: A delight to warm the heart anytime of year.
Review: I've had this video and the record for at least 15-20 years. Some of the songs I have even sung in the office to my co-workers. This has to be the best adaptation of this Dickens story. This is one that everyone can sing along with. This version of "Scrooge" is a true classic. When will it be availble on DVD or CD? I keep checking and waiting as each year passes by.

Review: Scrooge is the best Christmas Carol adaptation in my opinion. My family has watched this version every year since 1985 and there are none better for conveying the spirit of Dickens' work, even if liberties are taken in telling the story. This one grows on you more and more each year.

Review: I'm sorry but to be the bearer of bad reviews but in my point of view this movies really bit the big one! The new "scrooge" should be banned in america for untasteful acting and horrible music! I can't stand this flick.

Summary: the merriest christmas ever
Review: for about 20 years our christmas has not been a proper christmas without seeing Scrooge with albert finney.
The songs are wonderfull and you will sing them the whole year.
And the dancing and scenery are the best. I have seen many other versions but none compare to this one.
And even with my children now , they say it is the best and they want to see it every year.So it has become a tradition of which I am sure of that it will never end.

Summary: Popular Favorite at Our House
Review: A cynical old curmudgeon like me isn't supposed to like movies like this; after all, it's not a favorite of the critics. Yet it has become a Christmas Eve tradition in our family because it never ceases to make us laugh out loud at some of the wickedly funny lines and bring poignant tears at Scrooge's redemption and reawakened joy. What can I say? I love this movie. Albert Finney is superb as Scrooge.

Summary: The Best Ever Created
Review: I am of African American decent and I have seen and enjoyed many movies, but this one has had me hooked ever since the first time I saw it as a child. It has hope and a variety of musicals. It offers a person ages 1-100 a reason to care for another and feel great about doing so. I am very impressed with each character and the children's performances were terrific. Although I'm in my thirties, I look forward to the holidays in hopes of catching it on TV atleast twice before the New years. I will share this movie with my children and we continue to enjoy every moment while being glued to the tube.

Hats off to Albert Finney!

Summary: A Trip Through Dickens in a beautiful way..
Review: I researched the websites to order this flick again, because our old copy fizzled out. Its an incredible story and scary at the same time in its own way. Finney is remarkable, and Guinness as well. The old Victorian settings breathe a kind of life in to the film well worth remembering. Tiny Tim is heartwrenching and the sadness along with joy is one worth rewatching each Christmas. I give Finney a true five star rating performance for his authentic performance as Scrooge. If you dont own this, get it...Merry Christmas 2002!!

Summary: Best rendition of Christmas Carol
Review: This musical is the best rendition of Dickens' Christmas Carol. It can be shown to older children (10+). Most, if not all, videos of this story can be disturbing in parts, and generally boring. However, Albert Finney does a wonderful job as Scrooge and the basic story is conveyed very nicely. I am still waiting for it to be made in DVD.
