Summary: A smash hit in our home!
Review: I have to say that this is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I missed watching it when it was aired on TV but my husband didn't and all I kept hearing from him was, "I wished I had taped it... I want that movie!". So that following Christmas, I had purchased the movie and gave it to him as a gift along with the movie soundtrack and The Temptations "Emperors of Soul" boxed CD set which is terrific! I'll never forget the surprised look on his face when he opened his gift, never believing it was available for purchase on VHS..it honestly was one of the best gifts he's ever received. Anyway, I finally got to see the movie and loved it so much! We couldn't stop watching it, even my two young children watch it over, and over again. It's a movie thats great for all ages. We love all the actors in it and how they portrayed the lives of the original temps. The choreography was awesome!! I've also learned to respect the works of Smokey Robinson so much more now. The music in the title song "Becareful what you wish for" is so beautiful. I can listen to it all day long. I heard that a part two may be in the works. I hope so!!!

Summary: GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE!!!
Review: A Motown fanatic like myself is obviously going to love a documentary like this one. Watching great actors portray parts like David Ruffin, Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks and Melvin Franklin. I watched this movie every day for a couple months, and that is no exageration. I thought some parts were a little one-sided by Otis, but Either than that, ABSOLUTE HIT!

Summary: Great family entertainment
Review: I am only in my twenties but the Motown sound is a definite favorite in my household. This movie was a great tell all tale that graciously told a story about one of the best groups of all time. I taped the Televison broadcast and even bought the tape. The fun part was I was able to watch the show at the Motown cafe in Las Vegas. Wow what a real treat.

Summary: Great movie to watch with your teenagers
Review: I loved this movie, as did my 17 year old son and 15 year old daughter. We saw it on T.V. and were blown away by the story. I'm so excited that it is available for purchase (and rental too). I think this should have been released in theaters. It is soooo much better than 90 percent of what is out there. I also think that a soundtrack would have sold well. I went looking for CDs for my son for Christmas and had a hard time finding the ones I wanted. I finally found "All the million sellers", but "Anthology" would be the one to get if you can find it. I also read the book. It helps to explain some of the chronology that isn't explained in the movie. Dennis Edwards coming and going for example. The one scene that was edited out that I thought was a shame was Paul singing at the party. That was so real it made you cringe. The acting was excellant! I thought D.B. Woodside was great! Bottom line, see this movie!

Summary: "Get Ready" for a truly good video
Review: In virtually every aspect that "The Jacksons: An American Dream" fails, "The Temptations" suceeds. All five of the actors portraying the "classic" version of the Temps are excellent, especially Charles Malik Whitfield, D.B. Woodside, and Leon. The scene where David Ruffin (Leon) discovers that he has been voted out of the group will leave many of you on the verge of tears.

Additionally, the music was (of course) excellent, and the right songs all fell in the right places (especially "Papa Was a Rolling Stone).

Definitely worth your money and time.

Summary: I thought it was the bomb, an excellant movie.
Review: The movie mad me laugh and it made me cry. If someone was looking for a great movie featuring great African-American singers who had what it took to get what they wanted this is the movie for them. I can't put all of my feelings for the movie into words; I just know that it was a great movie that stood for something it had a point and it meant something to me.

Summary: FANTASTIC
Review: I simply could not get enough of this movie. I actually watched it three times. It was great. I recommend anyone wanting a blast from the past to watch this movie. The actors were so good I actually thought that I was watching the old temptations. I want to thank whoever was responsible for putting this movie together. This was one a very enjoyable and entertaining movie. It has been placed on my list of favorite movies.

Summary: This movie was superfantastic!!!!!
Review: As a great fan of the Temptations, I thought that NBC did a wonderful job with this movie especially with the cast. Terron Brooks was so convincing as Eddie Kendricks, I thought he was related to him in some way. The choreography was so intense, it made you want to get up and dance. Even my 9 and 11 year old daughters appreciated the real soul that went into these early songs. The only problem was the video had many, important scenes cut from it as compared to the original T.V. movie. Does anyone know if a soundtrack has been released?
