Summary: The Best Movie Ever!!!
Review: Save the Last Dance has all the makings of a great movie...passion, suspence, and most importantly...AMAZING MUSIC!! The main character, Sara, is an ex-ballet dancer who rediscovers her passion for dancing when she meets Derek, a young black man at her new school. With his guidance, support, and love...she learns to forgive herself for her mother's death and achieves her dreams. I recommend this to anyone who can appreciate any kind of dance...(from ballet to breakdancing) and anyone who wants a movie about people who live their dreams, and don't look back......... BUY THIS MOVIE!

Summary: THE BEST MOVIE!!!
Review: I absolutely LOVE this movie! I used to take ballet but then I quit. After I saw this movie, I got out of my chair and started leaping across the room and twirling! and at the end of the movie when Sarah is auditioning, my friend and I pretended like we were there and did all these fancy ballet moves. During the club scenes, we again got off our butt and danced. This movie doesnt keep you still...it gets you involved! It also has a good moral to it-you cant control who you love! I'm so glad that they are giving me the deal of getting Bring It On AND Save The Last Dance!!! Ever since I saw both these movies on the same night with the same friend I have been dying to get both. Now CDnow is giving me the oppertunity to get both!!! I recomend BOTH these movies because they get you on your feet. Bring It On gets you doing cheers and laughing hysterically! and save the last dance gets you break dancing and doing ballet! THESE MOVIES ARE THE BEST MOVIES EVER!!! that is why tonite i am going to get that deal of getting the two! I also recomend legally blonde cuz that is SOOO funny! and has the BEST soundtrack!!! again you should definatly buy save the last dance!!!

Summary: worth seeing
Review: I watched this movie a few times. it is a great movie though it is not on my list of all time favorites. if your down on hiphop then this isn't a movie to skip the whole movie is based on hiphop and balay which is a really strange combination surpassingly it works out real well. the plot what there is of it is this. if you don't want to know the story behind what
happens in this movie don't read on. your lead caricature Sara's mother dies at the beginning. so Sara a white teen has to move
to the city to live with her father. By way of a bunch of lucky happenings she ends up learning how to dance hiphop from Derek a a intelligent black teen and like all romances she falls in love with him ladedadeda etc. so now he convinces her to go back to balay so she goes back to learning balay bring some hiphop along with her. meanwhile Derek's friend (I don't remember his name)is trying to get into more trouble even though he just got out
of jail. he wants Derek to help him but Derek doesn't really want to he wants to go to collage and eventually be a doctor. so he's sortof tide between going back to a crime life
or living a ligit life. the movie is about 1/4 dancing 1/2 romance an the last 1/4 is drama arguing and a little crime. over all this is a really good movie and worth seeing.

Summary: Ya ... It's a Good One
Review: A must for all Julia Stiles and dance fans ... basically a "young people's love-story".. with dance thrown in.... It explores deeper social issues eg the company we keep, loyalty, the paths we choose to go down & inter-racial romance....just to list a few.

Also shows that dancing is about attitude & expression on top of movement.. Julia managed to transcend that... from Ballet to Hip Hop groove.

Summary: Dancers should watch this movie!!
Review: Being a dancer, I love to watch movies that have some type of dance woven into the plot. When I first decided to rent this movie, I didn't recommend it to anyone because I thought that if they didn't take dance, they wouldnt get the movie. Boy was I wrong! In the story, Sara is a young woman who is forced to move to the inner part of Chicago when her mother is killed in a car accident. Along with leaving behind her past, she deserts her dream to dance with a professinal ballet company.

Shorty after moving to the city, Sara meets a tough guy named Sean. He promises to teach her how to dance, (hip hop dance that is) and slowly, Sara regains her confidence. This is an uplifting movie about making the best out of a bad situation and never giving up on your dreams. I dont want to give away the ending, but I promise that every dancer and person will love this movie! ~Geena Age 12

Summary: Slammin'!
Review: I'm probably being predictable yet again, but I thought this movie was fantastic! I am a great lover of dance movies; they really inspire me and keep me going to dance class!
Not every dance movie is good, but this one sure is.

It is interesting to see the roles reversed for once: instead of seeing a teenager from a minority group trying to fit in with the white kids, we see a white kid thrust into a world she probably never dreamed of being in.
The way the kids at the predominantly black school react to the girl seems pretty realistic and understandable.

But then you've got the dancing, and boy is it hot! Mostly we see a bunch of funky kids getting down and dirty at the local club, Steps, (obviously not named after the cheesy English pop group) their attitude showing in their moves. Makes you wanna get out there with them. Then Julia Stiles' character (damn I can't remember her name... Sarah?) enhances her talent for ballet by inheriting some of that raw passion, and attitude, which I believe is what dancing is all about!

Hip hop is the best style of dance, so I just adored seeing so much of it in a film, which was intertwined with a great story. Sean Patrick Thomas is hot, by the way.
Also has a slammin' (yes, slammin', not cool) soundtrack. Gotta love it!

Summary: Forgetting someone?
Review: I firmly believe this to be a good movie all around. Not only does it deliver good morals and entertaining to watch for the whole (teenaged and up) family, but it's actually good! The characters of Sara and Derrick were beautifully portrayed, the dancing wonderul, the plot entertaining and the overall story believable.
My only complaint is to the other reviewers. Fredo Starr (Malachai) acted outstandingly and only two others mentioned him in passing. He was a member of former rap group Onyx and has a handful of decent movies under his belt. He does an amazing job portraying the "gangbanger" role and suprisingly has talent.
Otherwise, I'm pleased to say this movie will be staying in my personal library.
