Summary: Musical Roaches
Review: ... Personaly, I love it, simply for the "Funky Towel" musical number. I mean, you can not go wrong with a bunch of talking and singing roaches singing about a nasty, funky towel.

I have this DVD and I've prly wron it out from so much use it's not even funny anymore. It was funny as a quick MTV sketch, it was even funnier as a movie, simply beacuse it allowed more opertunity to see jsut how crazy, funky and totaly lovable a bunch of seemingly indestructible (anyone who's ever had a roach problem will vouch for that. Their like superman only not so evolved. you can damn near nuke them and they'll jsut sit there like nothing happened) bugs can be if they could talk, dance and sing. The plot of the movie is lacking, true, but I watch simply for the music and the comments the roaches make. What else do you need?

Summary: FUNKY ROACHES !
Review: Anyone who disses this movie is incapable of understanding slapstick taken to the max. Even before seeing this DVD, I was laughing at the photo on the box...just the thought of making a roach movie is funny! GOOD slapstick IS ridiculous, but also FUNNY!

If you are squeamish, then forget this film. The roaches are realistic & well animated..then again, the hilarious roach dialogue almost makes them likeable! This film is truly the "king" of critter comedies..move over Babe, Air Bud,and Benji......Rodney Roach & friends have come to infest your space!

While the script may be a little anemic, frequent roach appearances and musical numbers keep it moving along nicely. However, there are some funny moments where our nice guy human subject just can't get a break!

There is absolutely no other film quite like "Joes Apartment"...I congratulate MTV and Geffen Pictures for having the "cojones" to commit to such a project. This film deserved a much bigger audience at the theatre, but hey, you can have these roaches IN YOUR HOUSE for very little money..It's a riot!

Summary: Adolescent humor? Darn, I think it's funny!
Review: As far as I am concerned, roaches have no redeeming value. They are the lowliest of God's creatures.

With that said, I still find this little flick to be genuinely hilarious, in a disgustingly gross sort of way. Down-on-his Jerry O'Connell gets much-needed advice and encouragement from the, literally, millions of wall-crawlers that inhabit his run-down apartment.

The musical numbers are wonderfully done and the roach "voices" do bring a smile on the face.

Once you get past the notion that Jerry's "advisers" are vermin, then, the absurd premises and below-the-belt/crude levity can be "appreciated."

It might not be for everyone...especially employees of Terminex or Orkin!

Review: Don't listen to negative reviews of this masterpiece-- Joe's Apartment is genius, genius, genius. It's tough to articulate it better than that. If you're still squemish about bugs, stay away, but for everyone else, jump in w/ both feet and be pleasantly surprised.

Summary: Realmente graciosa.

Summary: Truly Funny! Gross Adolescent Humor at it's Best
Review: Face it: Singing, dancing cockroaches are disgusting....and really funny! There are more bugs in this movie than you could stuff into a city sewer. All singing some very clever songs. It seems to have been written, produced and directed by a couple of out of control 13 year-old boys. On the other hand the story is really decent, good acting, and great special effects. It even has a happy ending! Highly recommended. WARNING: Not for the squeamish!

Summary: A Five Star Cult Classic Ruined
Review: First let me say, I agree with most reviewers. Joe's Apartment is a movie for the "Far Side" crowd and I loved it. But who was the dirty rotten SOB that decided to release it in "Full Screen" format? There is too much going on in this film to butcher it by omiting the widescreen format. This Will probaby be only one of two or three DVD's that I will ever buy in this format. I'm not a movie snob I just want to see "Everything" I saw in the theater. Especially in a campy gonzo movie like this. They ruined some of the visual jokes simply because we can't see them anymore.

If it was up to me, I would slap every person who makes the call to release good or even bad movies in "fullscreen mode" we are all cheated when this is done. Rant's aside, if this is the only way I'll ever get Joe's Apartment then so be it. But I wish more reviewers would stand up and tell the Movie industry where to stick "Fullscreen" especially when we are continuously pushed to buy HDTV and widescreen TV's.

Summary: This ain't high art, but it's fun.....
Review: Forget Rochotelle O'Gorman's scathing review, unless you are one of those people who must find socially-redeeming value in every movie/book/CD you buy.

This movie is disgustingly funny and inventive. Yes, it's about house pests, and yes Joe is dumber than a roach. The premise is undeniably thin but I laughed...cringing all the while. It brings to mind old comic issues of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers but it's done them one better.

Whatever else you might think about about this film, Joe's Apartment invokes a visceral response in everyone who views it. In my humble opinion, that is the best any movie can hope to achieve.

Summary: Silly...mindless...cute
Review: Great effectsdown to the opening strains of Mel Torme turning into the cockroach (that a lot of critics thought he was :> ) Inventive yet so overly silly one isn't sure if the nausea comes from the bugs or the sappy script...still all in all a cute film with some really cute bugs
