Summary: The Best Wood Allen Film of All Time
Review: This is by far the best Woody Allen film of all time as well as being one of the films of all time! It has wonderful dance and singing scenes. With Allen's humor and the all-star cast there is nothing bad about it!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A FINE FILM
Review: A really fine film, touching and with good performances by the actors; but at least they do their own singing, except for Drew Barrymore who apparently was not up to the task.

I think this was Edward Norton's first film.

I recommend it highly.

By the way, how can anyone say they are reviewing a film when all the say is badaaaaahhhhh

Summary: Finally... a Musical!
Review: I haven't seen a new musical for a long time. I must say this flick was very enjoyable. The movie was over, and lo and behold I wasn't bored, irritated or sleepy. I agree with the comments about Woody's neurotic persona getting a bit tiring. Other than that this was a great movie. The musical scenes are very well done. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes a light comedy and musicals.

Summary: An enjoyable, surprisingly delightful movie
Review: I confess I saw this movie just because I was watching all movies with Natalie Portman in them. (She's not much in this one, by the way.) But this movie made me laugh and think like no other movie has in a while. I agree that it was interesting to see Edward Norton in this role, and DANG what a great group of actors in one movie! The songs will remain with you. Maybe it's because it's my first Woody Allen film, but I really thought he was funny. ("If I take the Concorde, I can be dead for three hours in Paris and alive for six hours in New York, which would be perfect!") Natalie's made a Woody Allen fan out of me. Oh, and Natasha Lyonne does really well too, and she's in several other movies now. When you sit back and think, you first believe that many things were pointless, but then you realize Woody is presenting an entire spectrum of love and relationships: teenage (Natalie Portman and Gaby Hoffman), college (Natasha Lyonne), late twenties (Drew Barrymore, Edward Norton, Tim Roth), and of course, the rest are involved in the "adult" romance. A really great movie, highly recommended.

Summary: Entertaining but Woody Allen was insufferable.
Review: Woody Allen's screen persona is often a source of irritation to me, because after all, one can play the neurotic loser for only a finite amount of time before it becomes boring and loses its meaning. This was probably the only thing I disliked about this film- Woody Allen is terrible and frankly boring as the guy who always loses his girl in the last reel. The film would have been positively ludicrous if it were not for the amusing and well-choreographed musical numbers, and an impressive supporting cast including Goldie Hawn and Alan Alda. Julia Roberts is brilliant as the nueoritic romantic interest, expressing much about love and life in her portrayal of a woman who has all these preconceptions about the perfect man, and finds her dream lover in the unlikely guise of Woody Allen. The scenery is brilliant, especially in Paris, but then that goes without saying. I was entertained by the romantic complications and the crises of the very rich, and I must say that Drew Barrymore was excellent as the dreamy doll with the sixties bob suffering from "White Night syndrome" I enjoyed Edward Norton's portrayal of the nerdish Holden Spence, especially as such a role differs so much from his other work. An entertaining and amusing peice all around, but Woody Allen's creative powers are beggining to blunt. I loved his neurotic self absorption in the 70s and the 80s, where he also mixed his untoward persona with social commentary and attacks on the American system. But now, as the 90s are at death's door, I am increasingly been sent back to his earlier work to find films that are both fresh and vibrant. "Husbands and Wives" is an excellent film he made in the early 90s and one of my personal favourites.

Summary: A Hillarious Movie
Review: This is one of the best films I've seen Woody Allen put out in quite some time. The movie starts with a laugh and doesn't stop 'till the end. I highly reccomend this to any Wood Allen fan.

Summary: Woody at his best
Review: It never ceases to amaze me how many good actors Allen is able to get on his films. First of all seeing Edward Norton dancing and singing is miles away from his performance in American History X. And even Roberts gives an excellent, if not brief performance. His is definately a great movie for anyone interested in a light hearted pick-me up.

Summary: Witty, Romantic, and Overall Fun
Review: This movie was an obstacle of various kinds of love, from the deep, friendship love to the fickleness of young love. The musical aspect made it more enjoyable and the choreography augmented the fun. All the characters were unique and the actors portrayed them well. I also like the ambiguity of the ending because it lets you decide what happens, which will reflect what you think about love.
