Summary: Absolutely Great Show!
Review: Oh joy of day! When I saw this was available it just made my day. This is one of the best shows in a long time. It among other things answers the question of what happens after everybody lives happily ever after. And are they happy? You'll have to watch to find out.

Bernadette Peters is unbelievably great in this show. The music is wonderful! It's just one hell-of-a-good show!

Summary: A GREAT VIDEO
Review: If you saw this show before or have the CD or have just heard of it, it is an amazing piece of work. This is your chance to experience the magic of this great show. The all-star cast of Joanna Gleason, Chip Zien, Bernadette Peters, Robert Westenberg, etc. is fanominal! Mr. Stephen Sondheim has written one of the hardest shows ever written, but certainly one of the best. This video includes the stories of many well-known fairy tale characters that meet and come together and help each other out is this hilarious and sometimes moving show that you and your family can enjoy and will want to watch again and again. I fell in love with it and I know that if you decide to buy this video, you will too!

Summary: But I hate musicals!
Review: Normally I'm not a musical lover but that fateful day I channel surfed into the original broadway production cast of "Into the Woods" on PBS, I was hooked. The first act is wonderful humor that will set the grimest heart laughing at the silly interactions of our beloved childhood fairy tales, while the second act will bring even the most jaded of teenagers to the brink of tears at the poigancy of the two songs near the end. All in all, it is a wonderfully written, directed and performed musical that will be loved by nearly everyone.

Summary: Truly one of the greatest musicals of all time!
Review: This is it! I am not easily impressed, but this is one amazing cast and musical. The music is by far some of the hardest I've ever seen and the cast pulls it off with incredible class. Bernedette Peters gives a stellar performance as the witch (truly one of the Broadway greats), but cannot top the Baker's Wife played by Joanna Gleason who won a Tony for her performance. The music is so complicated that it keeps you interested throughout the show and the whole cast shines as if they were on Broadway.

Summary: I never get tired of this show!
Review: I was in jr. high the first time I saw this wonderful musical. The story surrounds many popular fairytales, including: Snow White, Rapunzel, Red Riding Hood, Jack(and the Beanstalk), and more. It so happens that all of these characters intermingle. The first act of the show, gives us the fairytale stories we are all familiar with. The second act shows us what happens to the characters "after, happily ever after". There is no comparison to this show. The songs are funny and beautiful. The performances are unparalleled. Bernadette Peters is wonderful, of course. My favorite character must be Chip Zien, as the baker. This is a show that can be enjoyed by viewers young and old. You will not be disappointed.

Summary: THIS IS THE BEST BROADWAY MUSICAL! 1
Review: I've seen Into the Woods so many times, I can't even count them. I own the soundtrack, and I taped the play when it was on PBS. I'm a lifelong lover of fairy tales (nice escape from reality, don't you think?), and this is definitely the greatest twist on them (and it doesn't hurt that it is a musical (which I love). If you're thinking about buying this, BUY IT! It's worth your money.

Summary: This will be the best musical you've ever seen!
Review: Into the Woods seamlessly sews beloved children's fairy tales together in a brilliant, witty, and emotionally charged musical of epic proportions. Once you've watched Into the Woods, those songs, lines and emotions will never leave you. It is such a wonderful piece of art that can never be recreated any better. All my cheers to Joanna Gleason and Bernadette Peters- they were fantastic! If you don't watch Into the Woods one time in your life, your mind, body, heart, and soul can never make up the experience. Into the Woods is a commonday masterpiece!

Summary: One of the best...
Review: Probably one of Stephen Sondheim's greatest works is produced on this amazing video. Bernadette Peters is simply astounding as the campy, wicked witch. How she didn't win a Tony award, we may never know. All the cast is great. The costumes, set, lighting...everything is perfect. I must say that Joanna Gleason, as the Baker's Wife, probably takes the prize for me as one of the greatest marriages of singer/actor and role I have ever seen. Her comedic skill and timing is amazing. You will want to watch this video over and over and when you do, watch her scenes and the amazing talent that she possesses.

Summary: One of my favorites!
Review: I've loved musicals for as long as I can remember, and this has to be my favorite because you can watch it once, and look at it as a nice, entertaining story about a bunch of fairy tale characters and their problems. Or you can watch it over and over again and understand that each song is a soliliquy for each character. You get a glimpse into their souls in a way that few other musicals do. You watch each character morph as they go into the woods and learn what life is really all about. Some of my favorite quotes are from the songs in the musical. "Isn't it nice to know a lot? And a little bit not." I started college this year, and I feel like I've been into the woods and out of the woods, and I'm not the same. If you want an entertaining musical that with songs that get stuck in your head, this is a great buy, but then, so is Grease. If you want a musical that makes you ponder where your own life is going, Into the Woods is the best!
