Summary: A superb colourised and digitalised version
Review: I have found this restored version of "babes in toyland" almost incredible. No one can think that this film was released in B & W, thanks to the perfect digital colour adaptation. Also the full film has been restored. Is very strange, however, how this DVD version is only available in USA. If this version will be released in european countries, it will have a good succes, because there are a lot of fans of Stan and Ollie. Also the country code is for all regions, means that can be reproduced in all DVD players. I recommend purchasing it to people that loves the old comediants, besides the Stan and Ollie films.

Summary: Best film for children!
Review: This is, quite simply, the best children's film ever made. As a child, I waited all year until Thanksgiving when March of the Wooden Soldiers traditionally made an appearance on TV. When I discovered it, colorized and restored on video, I bought it for my son when he was 3 years old. Now six, he's probably watched it a hundred time. It is thrillingly scary and addictively enchanting. The Hal Roach studios (which produced the Little Rascals and the Laurel and Hardy movies) created a whole world of fantasy, music and not a little terror. Evil villain landlord Barnaby (played by Henry Brandon, who was, incredibly, 21 years old at the time) schemes to marry Bo Peep. Stannie and Ollie save her; Tom Tom, Bo Peeps true love is exiled to Bogeyland; Barnaby escapes; and Toyland is attacked by evil bogeymen (the accompanying music made a huge impression on me as a child). In a thrilling sequence, Stannie and Ollie activate six-foot high wooden soldiers and they save the day. Buy this film for your kids! It's infinitely better than a lot of the dreck out there.

Summary: Another timeless classic!
Review: This is another one of those movies that my kids and I love to watch during the holidays. This movie is hard enough to find it on VHS, so don't miss out.

Summary: Original please!
Review: The pleasure of new formats like DVD is to provide the original, remastered versions of classic films. This film was originally "Babes in Toyland", and featured more music and longer scenes. American Movie Classics aired the original in BLACK AND WHITE, and it was a great experience. Release this classic in it's original cut and in BLACK AND WHITE, clear and crisp, the way it originally was. Do they colorize the beginning and the end of the "Wizard of OZ"?

Summary: This Movie DID HAVE COLOR Versions in the fifties.
Review: When I first saw this movie in a theatre in the fifties, it WAS in color. Few people know that there were copies of this movie Hand-Colored. It's true it was shot in Black and White, but many people saw their first version in one of many hand-colored films. Personally, I don't care for colorized movies, but for me, this is the ONLY movie that should be colorized. The color simply adds to the festive Christmas atmosphere. I can't image seeing the Wooden soldiers in other than their Candy Apple/Patent Leather-looking red coats.

Summary: FAMILY FAVORITE
Review: THIS IS A WONDERFUL MOVIE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. HAS BEEN A CLASSIC MUST SEE WITH OUR FAMILY FOR YEARS. TRANSENDS TIME.

Summary: Black and White ONLY!!!
Review: Love this film, especially at Thanksgiving. But as long as it's only available in the phony and insulting colorized version I won't touch it. This is a piece of art. Shame on those who tamper with this and other films. It's like someone drawing a mustache on the Mona Lisa.

Summary: Okay movie
Review: The movie is great and it brings back a lot of memories but the only thing that really ruins is the that they colorized it. I to see the original that was black and white and true to the movie. I know that there people waiting out there for that version to come out. I know that I am.
