Review: I am glad I read the review posted here before I decided to just give my daughter the tape. I watched the video first. I refer to the scene between Joseph and Mrs. Potiphar. There is another scene in the movie that I consider "costume" racy. This is not a family film. My children would know that this is not the norm. The female costume attire that was in the Mrs. Potiphar scene and the other; quite revolting. Strategically placed glitter on nude fabric or pasties on nude material. The scene itself was provocative and lasted longer than just a few quick seconds... This to me spoiled an otherwise fabulous movie. Wonderful vocals, costuming was great - otherwise, acting was great, not many props but those used were good. Also on the video as mentioned on the DVD reviews, Joan is displayed with an all black dress on the back cover. This is not the case in her scene as anyone who watches will see. Maybe I should have given this movie four stars, but I was disappointed to see a "family film" with costuming and a provocative scene such as this. At this point, I do not yet know that I will give it to my daughter for Christmas. I have older children and they will pick up on the ... innuendo. Though I was quite taken with the video overall, I don't know that it will hold the attention of a five year old for that long. I liked the way the film gave a modern interpretation to a classic Bible story. Also, the "trailer" into the video is long and has a racy video advertisement...

Review: A very lavish production. Technically well done. a little lacking in acting ability. Musically excellent. Movement from ancient story to modern school is a little awkward. Overall, an enjoyable show.

Summary: Andrew Lloyd Webbe is Amazing
Review: It is still AMAZING to me that one person could write such incredible musicals. Joseph takes a Bible story and tells it in such a way that it brings all types of people in as a audience and they come away with a smile. I would recommend this video for all ages. I don't know of any Andrew Lloyd-Webber musical that I have disliked. I highly recommend this production.

Summary: A MUST HAVE FOR MUSICAL FANS !
Review: As a young child living in London in the early 70s I was one of many lucky kids that found themselves amazed by the live performance of this fantastic musical called JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. It was so incredible that now, more than 25 years later I can still remember the lyrics to all the songs. Today, I rented a copy on VHS and for more than an hour I happily sang along with the cast. To my complete joy I found myself as amazed as I was as a kid. Donny Osmond is a perfect charismatic Joseph. Maria Friedman is great as the narrator. The songs are fabulous and the story is obviously timeless. All actors are wonderful and you can tell they were all having fun. I knew I would like this new version of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, but I had no idea I would fall in love again. I am so impressed with the whole production of this new version that I will be buying the DVD soon. I recommend it without reservation to family members from 5 to 90!

Review: I watch "Joseph" about once a week, and I love every moment of it!! The music, the cast, the costumes, everything is superb. It's wonderful to see a Bible story I learned about in Sunday School as a kid given the full Andrew Lloyd Webber stage treatment. Whenever I watch it, I can't help but sing along (I know most of the words by now--scary!). Donny Osmond is the perfect Joseph. He has an excellent voice and is very convincing as he goes from happy go-lucky innocence in the beginning to a mature leader at the end. And the brothers are hilarious. Their facial expressions are worth the price of the video alone! This musical will definitely leave a smile on your face.

Review: We first rented just to see it, when we returned it we went out and bought the movie, we just couldn't do without it. We first saw it five days ago and already we know most of the songs. I really love the Narrator she is one of the best characters in the movie. Also, I thought Elvis is really funny, but I think my favorite part of the movie is the 70s' song. Donny Osmand as 'Joseph' was a really good idea, he is so good looking you just like the movie as soon as he appears singing "I closed my eyes". I just LOVE that movie.

Review: I was waiting with great anticipation for this video and it was worth the wait. Donny Osmond was excellent! He is truly talented. The narrator lacked a little on her singing ability, in my opinion. I saw the Dallas production with the second generation of Osmonds and they were wonderful. I think that Jodie Benson would have been the better choice for the narrator. My children, teenagers I might add, really enjoyed this video. They wouldn't really admit it, but they watch it when I'm not around. I would love to get the opportunity to see this in a live production with Donny Osmond.

Review: I bought this video about one week ago and I've already seen it about 10 times. I think the brothers acted best, especially their face expressions and dancing. And the "sensible" way to kill the goat! The best one was Benjamin, I think the Kippa fit him really well! I think this video is one of the best productions I've ever seen, fun for the whole family!

Review: I was very anxious to purchase this video when it came out, but worried that the show would lose it's energy on video. It absolutely did not. Aside from a small gasp at the beginning "Look...it's Donny Osmond with long hair!", Donny absolutes owns this role. Maria Friedman is the best narrator. She is hysterical throughout. Everyone else was superb also. Sometimes I feel I am in the minority that believes theater is **supposed** to be light and fun. Just sit back on the couch, pop in this video, and enjoy. I dare you not to tape your feet and hum along!!!
