Summary: "Fake" Pulse
Review:

Dont be confused about this dvd. This one is an old edition that EMI reelased a few years ago. I have it, but visual and audio quality is not good enough (even in its 5.1 version).

There are rumours that the complete dvd will be released on February 2005. So, have patience.

Summary: Absolutely Great DVD.Surround and Picture are excellent !!
Review: Absolutely stunning, literally mind-boggling visuals. The cameras swoop around and yet always seem to be pointing at the right member of the band (or the backup singers) at the right time. David Gilmour's guitar playing.. well what can you say? He can make those strings sing, soar, weep, moan, and ring like no one since Jimi.. and he does it with such a totally effortless look on his face.. there are few guitar players on this planet who can equal him.
I know so many people that would love to make this purchase. Pink Floyd Pulse is one of the greatest concerts ever, with the best visuals and vocal performances. "Comfortably Numb" gives you a great experience with the perfect visuals, and the amazing guitar solo by David. Great Surraound 5.1 Sound , digital. So I'm glad I own this! This concert was the best live show I have ever seen. I never liked a Pink Floyd song until I saw this show. Now I own almost everyone of there CDS. This concert has the best light show and the best live performance. Now I can enjoy it on DVD, with digital quality.

For a bit of fun - compare how Floyd looks today with how they looked in their 20s on the Pompeii Video.. these are guys in their fifties who are obviously having so much damn fun doing what they do, and they do it so well, like they can read each other with a simple glance across the stage.. Richard Wright and Nick Mason, while overshadowed by Gilmour's up front stage center star presence, are equally masters of their instruments..

Summary: Pink Floyd - Pulse
Review: AMAZING!
This is by far the best audio/visual concert on DVD I have ever witnessed. I'd compare it, if there was anything even on remotely the same level to compare it to. A must see for Floyd fans, and even those with only a casual interest.

Summary: When released it will be great!
Review: I have the show on video-tape, but the sound is awful - and because some reviewers here can tell that the sound on this dvd-release isn't very good I'll wait until the "real" comes out.

The show (though the bad picture-quality too on my tape) is stunning, there really is nothing like it!

To you who complain about a "fake" Floyd without the original front-member, well - it started out with Syd Barret. "The Piper..." was Syd Barrets' and Floyd in their early style. If Gilmour is the third "change", why not? I think Gilmour with his Floyd today (or after Waters that is) is still the interesting band they set out to be many years ago, long before The Wall and Dark Side Of The Moon. Waters did, undeniable, a lot - but he left the band, and that's the important thing in the end. The way it seems to me that talented composer and performer whom I highly respect was a very hard man to work with and for. Not only Gilmour has claimed that, Alan Parker (who struggled to direct The wall) is an example.

Looking forward to the release, fans!

Summary: The best concert of all time !!!
Review: Like most Floyd fans, I enjoyed Delicate Sound of Thunder as a satisfying live Floyd concert video...but then came "PULSE".... and made DSoT pale in comparison. From the opening "Shine On..." to the explosive closing of "Run Like Hell" your visual and auditory senses are assaulted with essentially the best of "Division Bell", a small taste of "The Wall" and "Wish You Were Here"..but the cream of the concert is the complete performance of "The Dark Side of the Moon"!!!

The light and laser show that accompany the songs, as well as the inclusion of filmed shorts make the whole experience mesmerising. There are so many great moments in the video, such as Gilmore's solo in "Comfortably Numb" blares on as the lights cascade off the separating glitter ball, the computer graphic short used in "Time", the opening of "The Wall-Part 2" as well as the best rendition of "Wish You Were Here" I've heard; which begins a 3 song encore. For DVD, the quality is outstanding for both the visual as with the sound presentation.

Summary: DVD quality is just awful - wait for the real thing
Review: This DVD is an amateurish transfer (maybe not even) of the VHS. In fact I think that the VHS is much nicer to watch. As
you probably are already familiar with the VHS, consider how
every moment in the show is either a beautiful glimpse at their
projection screen, or a beautiful high-contrast (well-lit band member vs. cavernous dark background). In other words, consider how important a good transfer is, and how awful it would be to watch a poor one. Well...this is a poor one!

Only buy this DVD if, like me, you are paranoid that the real thing will *never* be released...I cannot tell you how disappointing the quality of this transfer is.

Summary: Great -- But Fake ?
Review: This is a great show. You might have read my review of the VHS version where I wore out MANY copies of it. It is great having this DVD version, but there are drawbacks. The main one being that it is only in 5.1, which is confusing since it is easy to add the 2ch audio since it already exists (VHS) and most DVDs that have 5.1 also have 2ch. The difference is significant. Still, even if this is a "fake" version (the "real" one coming out very soon, I have heard for the hundredth time), it is a must-have.

Summary: Pink Floyd ''P.U.L.S.E.'' This is a must have !!!
Review: This is a must have. It really shows why people all over the world regard Pink Floyd as a magical group. I've owned this film on VHS for many years and now I have it on DVD.It's a beautiful piece of history and a treasure to any Pink Floyd and David Gilmore fan. Highly recommend to anyone!!!!
