Summary: Horrible Thomas DVD
Review: All Togther- the Whole DVD is Bad but here are a few things that are the worst!

1. They Changed the Theme music to a stupid wired rytham that we all hate! Waht happend to the good music we all love?

2. Those stupd activtes insted of the intermsiions bewtween stories. What? Even for kids they are dome and piontless and way too easy!

3. Have really noticed how the engines look and move> -Yeah! that what I'm Taking about!

Hit is absoultoly runing Thomas! I HOPE THOMAS AND THE JET ENGINE WILL BE BETTER!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Decent, but Different
Review: Don't listen to those who moan over minor touches like the theme songs and who say that HIT is ruining the show. This may not be as good as the classics, but it is good especially compared to episodes like Rusty and the Boulder, where a boulder with a mind of its own chases around the little engines. The new theme is because the old composers left, and as a result HIT probobly lost their rights to it. The new one isn't bad, I don't know why some people act like they'd rather have their legs amputated without anesthesia then put up with it. There are only four episodes, but they are longer, so the length of the episodes (not the entire video) is actually about 30 seconds more. Michael Brandon is a good narrator with creative character voices, especially considering he just took over the narration.
The Heavy Word: Not as Good as Better Late than Never or James Goes Buzz Buzz or other older releases, but it is a rather decent release and better than some other recent ones. Expect to see things gradually improve in the future. :)

Summary: Thomas fans will love....but there is a definite change
Review: I believe that Thomas has gone CGI. This video looks more like animation, and to me has lost the charm of the past movies that are obviously miniature trains on tracks. Everything looks brighter and the numbers and words are more crisp, but it's lost the uniqueness that it once had.

Of course my 2 and 4 year old boys love it...just like all the others, but I wish that it was filmed the old way.

Summary: Could hum the new theme all day^^
Review: I just love the changes they made on this vid.(Although, once again, the UK got 2 more epis than us!>_<)They make the series so fresh.HIT picked up from Gullanes horrible mistakes and turned TTTE around. So i recommend this DVD 4:
1.New music
2.Micheal Brandons narration
3.The longer epis(and the epis themselves)
So enjoy this great DVD!^________^

Summary: Boy this video is dumb!
Review: I thought New Friends for Thomas was bad. But in this video the stories don't even make sense! A whole episode about Henry wishing to pull a passenger train. It seemed to me that Henry takes turns with Gordon pulling the express all the time! The stories in general are just inconsistent with the previous stories - maybe they should have watched the previous videos before writing these stupid stories?

I didn't like the new computer animation but that wasn't so bad. I gave it two stars because some of the songs between stories were pretty cute. But I hated the educational segments.

What a waste of money! Why can't they just stick with what was so successful for so many years?

Summary: For Toddlers its great
Review: If you are a parent looking for a Thomas tape this a good one. Alot of people complained about the music changing or the stories or the new look. Well my 2.5 year old loves this one. He likes the part where they expplain the different sounds that trains make and he likes the games in the middle instead of the regular intermissions and he likes the song at the end. Reading the other reviews it either seems like they were written by adults whom for whatever reason still watch these tapes without children or older children whom the stories might bore them but for a young Thomas fan this is a great DVD.

Summary: Thomas the Tank Engine: Steamies Vs Diesels
Review: This is the best Thomas release I've ever seen! All of the new theme songs and transitions are a breath of fresh air. The Thomas and Friends series is a time proven success and it's about time its direction, production, art direction, and cinematography came of age and in this version it certainly does.

One thing they did that was very wise, and not done in previous episodes, is they kept the camera viewpoints at what would be human eye level in the model rail road scale. This technique, and their ability to make the motion picture camera have longer depth of focus, made the trains seem life size and made the stories more visually rich.

They did a lot of moving-camera-pans that you would not expect when shooting objects that are model railroad size. This made the events in the stories more stunning. It looks like they used a digital movie camera instead of motion picture film. The digital technology gives the episodes more crispness and visual clarity. The new narrating voice is a fresh change over Alec Baldwin, as well.

I like how their end-of-the-episode review of the characters is done in moving video montages instead the old way of placing the engine behind a sign with the engine's name.

This DVD was directed and produced a buy a first-rate production company with the best digital postproduction editing they could find. I know a lot of Thomas fans don't like change but the change that is in this DVD is very good.

I hope all future DVD releases of the Thomas the Tank Engine series are done like this one!

Summary: pretty good, could have been better
Review: This Thomas video was alright. The stories were good, but they changed the music and they changed the theme song to some stupid song rather than the song we all know. They also have these dumb activites as a tranition instead of the engines and their names. The storyteller was good though. I hope that Thomas & the Jet Engine will be good.
