Rating: Summary: PINK FLOYD ROCKS! Review: I keep looking to get this concert on DVD, What's the holdup!?
This is my FAVORITE concert of ALL times! I have watched and/or listened to this tape more than ALL of my videos combined. It motivates me to get my chores, gardening, housework, ect done.
My best friend has it also, but she has a HUGE SCREEN TV,
(not just a big screen/ a HUGE screen TV) & standing in front of it, while Pink Floyd is on, is almost just like being there!
PINK FLOYD ROCKS!
Rating: Summary: When ? Review: Still waiting for this on dvd . Do hope it's soon . This is the BEST concert on film . Period .
Rating: Summary: Pink Floyd 80's concerts Review: I love this video.
Who do I need to write to, to beg someone to RELEASE IT ON DVD?
Someone needs to start a petition or something.
Rating: Summary: WHY isn't this on DVD???? Review: I had this video on laserdisc and when we converted to DVD I wrongly assumed I'd be able to get all my favorite titles on DVD. This was one of my favorite concert videos, and for it not to be released on DVD is CRIMINAL. Phoenomenal performances by the Floyd gang, supporting musicians and vocalists, as well as enough eye-candy in the way of lighting, special effects and video to keep you grinning so long your face will hurt. If I'd known this wouldn't be released on DVD, I'd have kept a laserdisc player JUST FOR THIS.
Rating: Summary: Totally Awesome Experience Review: I have loved the music for years enjoyed the movies but this concert ranks as my best experience of Pink Floyd ever. Maybe there are fans of the early Floyd that disagree but do not let that discourage you from at the very least seeing this video. Often times I show my own copy to friends and they are totally in awe of the raw musical power of this video. The three women singers are so in to the music and the camera angles and floating cameras make this really cool for its time....My rating is a 10 out of 10
Rating: Summary: Excellent show, poor editing Review: (This refers to the VHS edition.) This show was an incredible multimedia-event; unfortunately, you can't see most of it on this concert video!
It was shot beautifully on film, yet has the '80s editing-style of an edit every second, and sometimes blends several angles on the screen at once so that it's hard to tell what's going on. The real crime is you can barely see the 4 cool "UFOs" that were flying around above the band during the whole show...because that would require a single, unmoving shot of the stage for maybe 10 seconds. (To Wayne's credit, he did put in two time-lapses showing the giant lighting rigs moving around...but even those go by so fast they're easy to miss!)
There are some great shots however, especially the side view of "Mr. Screen" during "Signs Of Life". But this video unfortunately doesn't do the show justice. It easily COULD do the show justice, if it were simply re-edited. Mr. Isham is normally a great director so I hope he will re-edit this before releasing it on DVD.
