Summary: Great Miniseries! Needs to be released on DVD!
Review: A great series that does justice to a great set of books! Anyone who is a fan of the John Jakes series will love this miniseries. A great gift for the romantic at heart, as well as anyone who is a Civil War buff. I've watched it so many times, I've worn out at least two sets of tapes. Please release this on DVD soon!

Summary: North & South: A series to be remembered
Review: Before, during and after the Civil War, two friends George Hazard a northerner and Orry Main a southerner despite their beliefs, remain friends at a time when the north and south was divided with the problems of the nation.An excellent script, cast and music. A movie that made me appreciate history . I learnd more from the series than I did from the textbook I had when I was in school. I own book I & II on VHS. I want the DVD version.

Summary: North and South has to be on DVD
Review: I am fron France, and I discovered North and South in the 90's on tv. As soon as it was on video, I bought it and I watched it a zillion times....even my family has become total fan.
I think that this show has to be on DVD, because the plot,the actors, the history is so good...ans it's a part of American History that I dicovered first throuhg John Jakes' books.
As I can see here, a lot of people are in the same state of mind....so we are waiting now....

Summary: A GREAT Classic
Review: I could never get into American History as a teenager, but when this series came out in the 1980's, it really got me interested in seeking out more on our country's tragic past.
I believe that the costumes, actors, settings were wonderful. I have borrowed the series every summer from the library to view. I wanted to purchace the series for myself, but I am waiting, hoping it will go on DVD. (I don't have a DVD player yet but I will buy one to watch the seies when it comes out)!
I am hopelessly addicted to this mini series....

Summary: I can't believe this mini-series isn't on DVD!
Review: I first saw this series back when I was entering high school and I must say that I enjoyed it immensely and have watched it everytime it has been on cable and have watched the library's copy on VHS many times. When will it be out on DVD?! Every time I watch this series I am intrigued at the fine acting and cameos - it seems all of Old Hollywood makes an appearance in this series. On a personal note, this series sparked an interest for me in history and I ended up becoming a history teacher year. I would love to add it to my DVD collection.

Review: I have watched this miniseries several times on VHS. I will buy Volume I and Volume II when offered on DVD. Of all miniseries that have been created for television, this one should have been FIRST to be remastered for DVD. I hope someone will wake up and start the ball rolling to get this remastered for DVD....SOON.

Summary: A "must release on DVD" movie
Review: I just watched North and South this past week. What a spectacular movie! I love Book II equally as much. This movie absolutely should be released to DVD. I gained a great deal of knowledge about the Civil War and the events leading up to it from this movie. The story line is wonderful, and every actor was perfectly matched to his or her part. A must see for everyone and a must release to DVD by Warner Brothers.

Summary: North and South-Excellent Mini-Series
Review: I love stories from the Civil War, and this is one of the best. I was so glad when Part II came out, and I look forward to when North and South Part III-Heaven and Hell, comes out on video, or DVD. If you love the Civil War era, and the stories, you will love North and South. The scenery, settings, homes and clothes are so beautiful. The cast was excellent, and did a fine job of protraying their characters. At least once a year, I watch the entire mini-series on a weekend, and I love it more every time I watch it. I highly recommend North and South to everyone.

Review: I loved this trilogy and had all of the six books on video when younger. All except the last 30 minutes of the last book!! I have watched the whole thing a dozen times, but never seen the ending. I am dying for it to be released on DVD, because all we have is a DVD player.

Summary: Best Mini-series Ever
Review: I remember watching North and South Book 1 when it first aired on Network television. My whole family sat down and watched it. I was so excited when they came out with North and South Book II, to continue the story. However I didn't care much for the Book III. It was quite disappointing compared to the first two. This is hands-down the best mini-series ever made, from the story to the actors, to the beautiful costumes. It also has top notch cast. I try and watch it every time it comes on the Hallmark Channel. I taped it the second time it aired on network television in the 1980's but I have watched it so much, the tapes are starting to wear out. I hope they decide to release it on DVD..If you haven't ever seen this miniseries, I highly recommend that you watch it...You will love it.
