Summary: The End of the Hippie Era
Review: This movie is THE chronicle of the end of the hippie era. It's a hilarious but sad, fly-on-the-wall experience of the Isle of Wight Festival.

Greedy promoters (and security guards dressed as facists ) stop the hippies from seeing the music. 100,000 camp on the hill inventing ways to get over the fence. 20,000 sit inside having paid the promoters their entrance fee. The promoters sit in a two man tent stuffing wads of money into bin bags.

"Whatever happened to love and peace" says one hippy, as the guards set their Alastians on him.

Don't buy it for the music, which is also amazing, but is not the main point of the documentary. Complete performances are not featured. Buy it because it shows exactly what happended to the "Woodstock generation". My favourite film ever!

Summary: Half a Song?
Review: This release makes uneven performance cuts and ommisions. It is disappointing and should be amended with more material or released in a multi-disc and more complete version.

Summary: Don't Buy this for the Music!
Review: While the label lists many great acts and many great songs, 85% of them are cut off less than half way through with footage of whiney hippies complaining about such a minor cause as a fence around the show! sheesh This is a great documentary to illustrate how immature the youth movement of the 60's was. The DVD is littered with stoners acting like a fence was the last vestige of freedom. All I kept thinking was "show me the music"!
If the music wasn't the point of the movie, why list the songs on the back of the DVD? Why immortalize the juvenile behavior of both audience and promoters (or ... if you must ... why charge for it)? Had I seen this hippie "Bitchstock" before buying ...I would have declined.
