Summary: Unreal Timewarp
Review: A must for all serious Queen fans. This DVD presents the images and sound of Queen in a new light. The sound from Brian's guitar
on " Love Of My Life " leaves you looking for him playing it in your lounge room as the sound is so unreal. The clarity of the picture makes the concert seem like it's no where near as old as it is. Even though we only see Queen up to and including the " Hot Space " album,it does allow vintage Queen like Roger Taylor's " I'm In Love With My Car " which is so raw and pure.
Also features a great version of Brian May's guitar solo ( Brighton Rock )which this crowd needed to rev them up somewhat because the crowd tended to be a bit tame. Freddie sounds great as usual and " Save Me" and his guitar effort on " Crazy Little Thing Called Love " are highlights to remember. O.K enough said now go out and get it all you serious Queen fans.

Summary: WAIT FOR BETTER THINGS TO COME
Review: The sad thing about Queen is that their best concerts are not commercially available on video format, be it VHS or DVD (or on CD for that matter...). To Queen standards they perform a mediocre set in "We will Rock you", though Freddie Mercury is in brilliant voice. Audience is downright pathetique and there is no trademark explosion of energy between band and people.

Sound is OK I guess, but seem somewhat "boxed". The terrible unsync editing between picture and sound (desperately painful in "Killer Queen")destroys any potential build up of the sensation of "being there".

Queen on a bad day was still pretty much unsurpassable, and there are plenty of good moments with stand out energetic versions of "Tie Your Mother Down" and close to speed metal "We Will Rock You". "Bohemian Rhapsody" is also more than adequately done. Overall though, I don't want to recommend this video neither for die hard Queen fans nor to people new to Queen.

For being arguably the best live band ever to grace the face of this earth, it is a shame that Queen is yet to release a live album or video to do them full justice. I advise you to wait until you see a Queen release of truly magical concerts such as: Unedited versions of Hyde Park -76, Earl's Court -77, Houston -77, Rainbow -79, Milton Keynes -82 or Knebworth -86.

Summary: Simply awesome
Review: Ok first things first - don't believe everything you read in other reviews about this new version of the We Will Rock You DVD. The audio and video quality is awesome, and while the concert isn't classic Queen, it is the only DVD available so far of a live performance by a great band.

There are no sync problems between the audio and video, and the reason why the band doesn't perform the middle section of Bohemian Rhapsody live is very simple - Queen never performed that part on stage. It was so complex that they always played a tape recording of it while they went offstage to change costumes and freshen up.

If you don't own a full-blown home theatre set-up, don't despair. This DVD has a killer stereo track that rocks.

As for the songs, they are all drawn from the older albums. The concert features such strong tracks as Save Me, Play The Game, I'm in Love With My Car, Under Pressure and Somebody To Love.

The biggest drawback with this concert seems to be the audience, they don't seem to be familiar with the music of Queen, and one of the highpoints of a Queen concert was Freddie's interaction with the fans. For that, I guess we will have to wait for the release on DVD of classic concerts like Live in Rio and Live in Budapest.

If you like Queen and their music, just go do yourself a favour - get this DVD, put it into the player, turn up the volume and enjoy!!

P.S.: Ignore Phill Fionda's review. He is obviously talking about the original version of the "We Will Rock You" DVD which is truly abysmal, by all accounts.

Summary: A CROWNING QUEEN MOMENT
Review: This concert has been overlooked until its dvd release. One reason perhaps because it pre-dates Queen's hit success with I Want to Break Free and Radio Ga ga. WE WILL ROCK YOU however is in my opinion the most significant live document of the band's career with the most complete repertoire of their hits.

Though less glitzy in terms of camerawork, fans should appreciate this for the music. Rarities like "Dragon Attack"; "The Game" and "Under Pressure" - sung in an earlier style - appear here. In other words - songs which haven't been released on any live CD. Traditional favourites are all here for the most part - "Now I'm Here"; "We Are the Champions" etc - the show incorporates Queen's late 70s set with early 80s hits. The emotional high points are splendid versions of "Somebody to Love" and "Save Me" - worth the price of admission alone.

Though maligned with voice problems throughout his live career, this show captures Freddie's voice in form. He pushes his voice extremely hard (perhaps too hard) and hits the notes. Musically, the band is in fine form and less in an "entertainment" mode than their serious playing mode.

So short of catching a queen tribute band like Killer Queen (who are rather excellent) this will bring a nostalgic twinge to all Queen fans especially those who enjoy their pre-80s stuff.

Recommended for serious fans!

Summary: go buy it
Review: The quality on the VHs was amazing, on the DVD it's simply jaw-dropping. The one reason that makes this such a great concert is that the cameras don't stay on Freddie the whole time!!! I have nothing against him, but even the official concerts seem to be on Freddie too much. There are an unlimited amount of camera angles that were filmed...AND IT SHOWS!!! This DVD really give you a feeling of the band being "a band" not just a singer.

What also makes this great is the era it was performed in. This concert was recorded while they were playing new hits like "Another One Bites The Dust", "Under Pressure", and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" yet they still play FULL versions of older classics like "Killer Queen", "Now I'm Here". "Sheer Heart Attack", "Tie Your Mother Down", and of course the FAST version of "We Will Rock You".

This is probably the one concert that I could say is for a Queen fan of ant generation

GO BUY IT NOW FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Summary: Great performance, but really bad renditions of the songs!
Review: My hubby and I were pretty disappointed with this. We know the songs really well and it's liek Freddie forgot how they went. He changed them all so they were only recognizable by the music behind it. He has beer all over the top of his piano so maybe it's cause he was drunk, but it was not good at all. Every song he pretty much ruined. Still love Queen, but the way he did the songs in this concert sucked big time!
The quality of the DVD seemed pretty decent. I have nothign to compare it to really besides movies on DVD, but I saw no issues with this recording.

Summary: Queen Rocks, DVD does not
Review: To me Queen was one of the best live bands I have ever seen play live and although the performance here is when they were really rockin' sometimes I just can't get past the poor sound quality - and yes I have the updated DTS version. The songs are great, seing Brian on the piano for Save Me brings back great memories. They really need to release some concerts from the 70's (like Hyde Park and Earl's Court)- that's the REAL Queen, even though I love the Wembley DVD (how about a Knebworth video?)

Summary: An awesome Queen show!!
Review: We Will Rock You is second only to Wembley as far as Queen DVDs go. The energy and great sound of the first two songs-"WWRY" fast and "Let me Entertain You"- truly set the stage. Freddie is at his best here, I think, but Roger has his moments ("I'm In Love with My Car") and Brian's really rockin' on the heavier songs!! (What about John? Oh yeah he's just the bassist but at least he gets the WWRY solo!) The "Bohemian Rhapsody" light show is great, and the audience reaction to "Tie Your Mother Down" is really awesome. Sure, "Get Down make Love" really sucks (I just don't like the song) and he sings some parts of "Now I'm Here" weird (I like Dragon Attack though), but this concert still rocks!
