Summary: AQUABATS LIVE
Review: I have seen this band live at least 9 times over the past 8 years and have to say that they are definitely a riot to be part of live, I mean SEE live. Their shows are unlike the typical concert and very much involve the crowd so that you feel part of the show with cheesy childhood references and superhero vs evil shenanigans which you will see in this DVD. Anyone from 24-34 and a lingering for the old childhoods days of suburban summer should find this DVD and the bands sense of humor entertaining. As an added bonus the music is fun and catchy. Give this DVD a chance and check out the cds "Fury of the Aquabats" and "The Floating Eye of Death." You will be glad ya did cadet!

Special songs are "Playdough", "Giant Robot Birdhead", "Pizza Day" and "Pool Party."

Summary: Finally! The pain in the delay of their new CD is lessened!
Review: I have to say, the Aquabats are the greatest band ever. In the history of the world. Include minstrels from the Middle Ages. Better than They Might Be Giants. Less scary than System of a Down (although perhaps as weird).

By the way, I went to the concert that is on this DVD (February 2003 at Brick's in Salt Lake City, UT), and this DVD is well worth your money.

Summary: The Aquabats Rule!!! Although they rnt the greatest ska band
Review: I saw them live at henry ford theatre in hollywood on the 11/15/03 and bought the dvd at the concert. It was some awesome. The aquabats concert r crazy. I didnt expect it to be like it was. But the Dvd tells it all. I no alotta r think those guys r cool yea there concerts rnt that good. That was the best concert i have eva bin to. Ppl were skankin every where. And at the glass house when they played u could crowd surf rite onto stage. It was pretty cool. This has to be the greatest dvd of all time. And theres always this weird looking guy at all the concerts with a camera. And hes like balding and has a pony tail. i think hes there photographer or something. Well u should by this dvd if u havent

Summary: Big let down
Review: I was excited about getting this dvd because I had heard that the aquabats were really awesome. So when I got it I popped it in and started watching the live show. I was blown away! I couldn't believe that they would put that concert on their bands dvd, the sound quality during the whole show is horrible, the concert is somewhat lame, in part because the kids are stage diving the whole time, even when there is no music and the powdered milk man has some kind of trouble and they don't light him on fire, (though at the end the band partakes in some finger warming fun) and the stage is so small they don't all fit up there.
I would recommend this dvd for the special features, which is basically extra performances that are really good. the sound quality is better as the shows are. All in all I wasn't pleased with the live show, but disk two was good. Hope this helps

Summary: The cure for the In Between Aquabats Concert Blues!
Review: It might be best to start with what's not on this 2 DVD collection. Let's start with profanity, obscene jestures, tiny outfits barely confining surgically enhanced bodies, package grabbing and costume malfunctions. There's also a lack of angst, depression, cruelty, & narcissism. If these things are your cup of tea, I would suggest something else.

What you will find is pure joy. I once heard the Aquabats described as a combination of DEVO and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. That description works pretty well. There concerts are like a Sid & Marty Croft, Saturday morning television show with a surf punk beat.

It's impossible to capture the pure joy of an Aquabats concert, but this DVD does as good a job as possible. The only thing the DVD has over a live show is that you won't have a chain smoking teen standing next to you.

Buy the DVD. You will not be dissapointed!

Summary: Down Right Amazing
Review: This video is awsome. It has tons of concert footage full of stage dives and skank pits. The dvd captures the rawness on a live punk show with no barriers or rules. The sound quality is perfect and professionaly done. I highly recomend this to any fans of ska or punk

Summary: This DVD totally rips!
Review: Well fellow cadets... this is a spectacular DVD to add to your collection. Put it next to your restored version of Citizen Kane and The Sound of Music and you'll have fun all night homies!

Seriously though, this DVD is a fantastic addition to any aquabats fan... in fact if you consider yourself a fan... WHY ARE YOU EVEN QUESTIONING GETTING THIS??? JUST BUY IT ALREADY!!

The only negatives I have to say about this collection however is the fact that some features (such as the aquabats diary) have pretty bad sound quality. Some segments can be really soft... so you'll turn up the sound and then the next segment will be at full volume! So you'll blow out your ears a bit... but thats OK I guess.

Other than that I wish they added some behind the scenes footage or ADDITIONAL footage of the power-ranger-esque video made around the time of the FLOATING EYE release... as far as I could see they only had the comercial for the CD included and that was it!

All in all though... this is a really nifty DVD! Buy it, and be accepted by those in your peer group! You'll win friends and influence others! Now if you could just get past your natural body aroma of swiss cheese you'll be set!
