Summary: Maze Fans...We Are One
Review: I am surprized...If you have the Maze Live in Philly, than you have this show. Nothin new. The preview suggested that there was "new" material (Look In Your Eyes & Working Together). I would love to see Frankie attempt a show dedicated to some of his love ballards from his library of wonderful hits. It was very interesting to see so many Europeans groovin with Frankie.

Summary: IF YOU ARE UN FAN'? YOU HAVE TO BUY IT !
Review: I'm really sorry for this guy saying that Frankie should refuse to do such concerts as Hammersmith when he has a a flew or something that could alterate his voice or his reputation of genious : this DVD is worth it and thanks God Frankie did not refuse to do this London concert ! Of course, it's not "Live at New Orleans" or "L.A"... but it's ten years after ! It's not as incredible as New Orleans because to have beautiful concerts like N.O, you have to have less incredible concerts, such as this Hammersmith show. Fred Astaire was not a genious in all his films. Above all, this DVD is more "euro style", more "cosy", "easy listening" style than N.O or L.A.
I guess that's what Frankie and his crew wanted to do and show in London. This "Live" is more "smooth", more "lounge", more "electronik", less "massive", les "soul or funk or R & B" than the Live in N.O or in L.A. The Maze band show anyways that they are still united, dedicated, top of the line in termes of music - it' s good to here Maze with modern sounds -. Of course it looks like Frankie had a flew during this concert : so what ?!It also looks like the audience didn't give a d.... about that. All we want from Maze is : joy, happiness, raw soul, peace. Evething you will see and feel in this 2 hours concert. Last but not least, the sound is really really good.

Summary: Missed opportunity with a embarrassing performance.
Review: I've seen Maze live many times and none of his DVD releases are up to standard as far as audio/video. This release is much better in those regards than the live in New Orleans and L.A. releases, but still not up to par. Here, you have a reasonably good picture with sound, although not referenced standard, with Frankie Beverly's voice being strained to the maximum. In effect, his voice is hoarse and he can't hit the notes. He was either sick or tired. In any event, he should have cancelled this performance until he got his voice back. This concert was a missed opportunity for him to really shine on Video, but it turned out to be an embarrassing performance due to Frankie's voice being shot. Frankie needs to do one good video with state of the art sound and cameras so that his true talent can be observed and showcased. He needs to do it soon as I can tell he's slowing down as some his performances here is lethargic although he could very well have been just tired from touring. I've seen Maze in the last threee years and he was like his old self. He has some good moments here, but not many.
