Summary: Overdone and Butchered
Review: After seeing Ozzy on the Theatre of Madness tour in 1992, I looked forward to this release with quite a bit of anticipation, considering that my concert experience with Ozzy translated into one of the alltime best. I had not expected this as I had seen plenty of concert footage plus owning his first VHS release, The Ultimate Ozzy (to this day I think he walks back and forth on that stage as if he has to take a dump the whole time and can't push it.) But in 1992, Ozzy was re-born, he had undergone an incredible transformation physically. All members of the band were incredible players and performers to boot, culiminating in incredible energy and power...all without the aid of impressive lighting or or so much as a sparkler for pyro.

Unfortunately, this particular release is not a document of what I witnessed. As others have reviewed...it jumps around between three different concerts at different points in the tour. I do see that one of the shows used does capture the Ozzy I witnessed, but most of the shots capture Ozzy trying way too hard, obviously self concious of the fact that the show was being filmed (the show I'm referring to has Ozzy with his hair tied back ala the No More Tears video. He just doesn't seem to be behaving as he normally would on stage in those shots.) Finally, of course what you are hearing isn't actually what you are seeing obviously. It just doesn't work.

The song list alone is nothing to complain about, but you're best left to turning off the picture and just listening if you want to relive the experience. It's truly a shame as all that really needed to be done was film one show straight ahead. It seems so few in the industry realize the true goal of a concert video should always be to capture it as it is experienced, not attempt to embellish it MTV music video style.

Summary: Gave me a headache
Review: At first I thought: "Ozzy live on DVD. Mmmmmm. My cup runeth over." I got about half-way through and then I had to turn it off. First off: it has an awful bottom end mix. The bass and kick drum blur together in a wash of mud with very little pitch definition. It was only when I cranked it up to wall-shaking levels that I said "Oh THAT'S how it's supposed to sound" Come on, I know the title says "Live and Loud" but must we take it so literally? Not everyone has a powerful sound system, and most of us have neighbors. I guess the producers figure Ozzy fans don't actually listen to the musical quality, but rather want something massize and bone-crushing to bang your head too.

Then there's the video: Dizzying. I understand that Ozzy is all about sensory overload, but I just couldn't take it. Even in small doses it's too much. A 2 second shot from any camera angle seems to be the max. I'm not exaggerating. Too many gratuitous shots of the females taking off their tops. Too many shots of very scary looking pierced, dyed and tatooed fans. It detracts from the actual music. And continuity leaves something to be desired. Almost right away, one can tell that the footage was edited from at least two different concerts. Concert A, stage left, two seconds. Cut to concert B, stage center, one second. You get the idea.

I dunno, maybe I'm just more of a purist. I'm not interested in the "whole concert experience" here, I just want the songs. On the upside, the selection of music is wonderful. Most of my favorite songs are present, and then some. Many different tracks that span his career.

Like Oz says: "Don't blame me." Well I don't. I blame everyone else who produced this.

Summary: wheres the zakk?
Review: being a huge zakk wylde fan I was hoping to see some blistering
solo spots but I was dissapointed. This video is a mismash of what appears to be atleast 2 shows spliced together.very unfair to the viewer, zaks total exposure combined is like 5 minutes.
if ya want good zakk pick up live at budakon(however in the later ozzy is pretty spent)

Summary: Very well done DVD concert
Review: Excellent quality audio and video. Very interesting in that they combine two concerts to make one great performance. You can tell as Ozzie's clothes are different. Works very well and you might not notice if you weren't paying attention. A great DVD. Probably an R rating, a fair amount of swearing and some nice breast shots. If that offends you, you're probably not a fan anyway.

Summary: Save your money
Review: I am a huge Ozzy fan and an even bigger Randy Rhoads fan and I really don't want to say something bad about an Ozzy product. However, on this one I must. First off, don't buy this expecting it to be a real concert. The footage is spliced together and if you watch what Zakk is playing, often times it is clearly not the same song. There is too much audience in this dvd and I truly don't believe that the T 'n' A footage throughout was appropriate. Expected in a Poison dvd but not in an Ozzy dvd. Also, the video shown during Flying High Again, which consisted mostly of crude audience footage, was downright disrespectful to Randy Rhoads. Very disappointed.

Summary: For true Ozzy fans
Review: I have read all kind of complaints here. Yes it has constant dizzy-visual changes, guitar changes, dress changes, but forget all this...

This dvd is going to be deleted soon, so is the double cd.
Get it while you can, if you are a true Ozzy fan, you wont...regret it!

Summary: Terrible DVD!
Review: I LOVE Ozzy Osbourne. He is awesome live.He has one of the best stage presences in metal. But this DVD is not a real concert. What this is the music from the Live and Loud CD played in the background played over a bunch of crappy video footage.Half of it doesn't even belong here. The music is great, but the video footage is what messes this up.If you want a real Ozzy concert, buy "Live At Budokan".If you want to get the REAL concert this was taken from, buy the CD.Also,The DVD does NOT have instant chapter access like the case says so.Plus, the DVD is two sided. This means that you have to flip it over in the middle of the concert.

Summary: great music !
Review: i really love the sound of ozzy since the days of BS. it was even better together with randy and then the the time together with zakk - it was great - live & loud is one of the best albums ever ... BUT !!!

who the hell is the editor of this video ?

i want to see zakk mistreating his guitar - but what do you see in this video. one cut per second. in one guitar solo, you see zakk with 3 different guitars, ozzy pulling water on the crowd, ozzy with pony-hair, ozzy with a shirt, ozzy half-naked, 2 times michael, and randy playing another song ... - AND EVERYTHING IN JUST ONE 15s - GUITAR SOLO !!!

technical this dvd is also diappointing: 2 sides - turn around at halftime - like old vinyl. no subtitels to sing along for newbees.

i really like the way ACDCs "no bull" is made. the concert without any trash. you can see angus and his gibson and brian talking to the crowd. just one concert at a beautiful arena. you can hear it as often you want without getting bored of interviews. the interviews are on a second track on the dvd. that is the way it should be.

Summary: Cool but not too cool
Review: I think this is a must have for ozz fans. The only problem is, why the hell do they change shots a hundred times a second? This gets really annoying. Zakk uses like 5 guitars in one song. Can the editor make up his mind. At least stay in the same show for a song or so. Dry ozzy, wet ozzy, shirtless ozzy, clothed ozzy, it gets so annoying. Oh well, i gave it 4 stars cause its ozzy, but i really hate the editing.

Summary: Great music, but.........
Review: I would agree with most of the other reviewers, the footage is crappy (especially "Paraniod"). The bottom line is this is Ozzy and anything from him is good. The disc is double sided and it does actually have a menu and instant track access ( on my remote I just press the menu button while the disc is playing). The best song/footage on here is "Black Sabbath", but it's still bad. I usually put the disc in, switch the TV off and enjoy the music. It gets 3 stars only because Ozzy is on here. Die hard Ozzy fans can "waste" their money (like me), otherwise- DON'T BUY!!!!!!!
