Summary: Just A Vanlilla DVD!!
Review: Yep! That's right! This is just a plain, ole' vanilla dvd. Nothing special here. Certainly, not anything to write home about. Yes, I must say this vanilla dvd has definitely fallen on rocky roads. (Ahem, so to speak) The thing that ticks me off most is the lack of audio mixes. It only has a linear PCM track. (In other words, 2 channel stereo) Why couldn't they have taken the time to remix the audio into DTS or at the very least, Dolby Digital 5.1? Imagine listening to the orchestral performances in full surround!! Oh, yes, lest we forget, that brings me to another sore point... When is Warner/Reprise going to wise up and release the full concert from one of the orchestra nights on dvd? The fans have been waiting on this for 13 years, at the time of this writing. So, what's the hold-up guys? I sometimes think these corporate big-wigs have absolutely no clue what music fans are looking for. So, go ahead gentlemen... Keep all the best material locked up in your secret, underground, climate-controlled vaults, safe and secure, from the rest of the world, until time itself comes to an end!! That way, your diabolical masterplan will reach it's fruition; that no human ear will ever be able to enjoy it. Yes, feel free to recline in your big, leather office chair and sarcastically laugh at the meaningless peons who continue to importune you year after year to release this stuff. (I guess our money is meaningless too, eh?!) By, the way, while I'm in a "ranting and raving mood", please note that the same goes for not releasing Clapton's "Nothin' But The Blues" on dvd, too!
