Summary: Presented in Stevie Vision 1-D: A very Sad Sad Concert.
Review: This time capsule episode of the Mac live should be destroyed and never seen. It is an nightmarish documentation of the Mac I love or once have loved.
This concert is filled with total heartache; I love Stevie Nicks and a big fan, but when Stevie utters out her first note and you're a fan you will find yourself sobbing and I don't mean the good kind of sobs. If you never seen or had heard Stevie sing live before then DO NOT BUY OR SEE THIS MESS. Stevie had once upon a time had the most amazing voice in music of no other female rock artist ever, but sadly as the mid eighties hit, her voice started to deteriorate and die, and this concert is the testament of proof.
Her voice started to resurface lately with her recent solo cd and the new Mac Cd, but even though she sounds better now than the mid eighties decline, she still has lost that bewitching voice that was once beautiful and haunting. I do believe Stevie still has that power somewhere in her but seems to be scared to let it out as she once spun out years ago. I listen to Stevie now and hear her old amazing self hiding behind a shadow and when you think she's going to hit that high note and do the amazing, she pulls the mic away and cages her velvet throat. Why does she do this? Where is that Stevie who had sang "Dreams" live as she sung it on the album without adding the words "Ooooh Yeahhh" as she does here in this terrifying concert and may I ad she uses the "Ooooh Yeahh" in the song "Gold Dust Woman" and "Rhiannon" also. This "Tango In the Night" concert is awful.
Instead of this concert of the Mac go hunt down the great "Mirage Tour '82" Video to which should have been released onto DVD before this horror fest.
The Mirage concert will prove what I mean with Stevie's once true power when she belts out "Sisters of the Moon"
Then take this "Tango" DVD and make a coaster for your drink.

Summary: fake close-ups and no Buckingham
Review: This tour was when Mr. Buckingham quit the band in 1987, in support of the superb "Tango in the night" album. They replaced Buckingham with not one, but two guitarists, Rick Vito and Billy Burrnet(a thousand guitarists couldn't replace Buckngham's electricity). While the tour itself was enjoyable, due to Stevie Nicks and Christine Mcvie, this video shoot, at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, falls flat for many reasons. While trying to spotlight the 2 new male members as a vital part of the new line-up, it simply shows how Billy and Rick lack the personality and electricity that has made Fleetwood Mac one of the finest live bands in the history of rock and roll. They simply don't "fit in" here. Lindsey Buckingham is sorrowly missed here. And to top things off, Stevie Nicks' close-ups are obvious re-shoots that were edited into this video performace long after the show was shot, as they don't match the stock footage at all. Stevie Nicks is perhaps one of the most beautiful rock icons in history and certainly there was no need to re-shoot close-ups and insert them into this concert. The overall feel is forced, and doesn't compare to the groups's "mirage" video release, or the recent "The Dance" video.Let's hope the 1982 "Mirage" video concert, and the 1980 "Tusk concert/documentary" find their way to DVD soon, which better demonstrate why Fleetwood Mac is one of the best rock bands ever. This dvd simply doesn't do the band much justice.

Summary: A Hole in the Puzzle
Review: This video is good only for those of us that are HUGE Fleetwood Mac fans. It is not something that proves the greatness of the band. Stevie's special close-ups are ridiculous! They distract from the concert, while making her seem vain and unconcerned with the music (which we all know is NOT true). Amusing points do come through, however. Behind the scenes footage of the band makes for some good laughs, and seeing Mick's drum solo during "World Turning" is highly entertaining. All in all, the band is just not the same without Lindsey Buckingham. He is sorely missed throughout the concert video.

Summary: Fleetwood Mac music for rehab members
Review: This video is perfect evidence of the downfall of the band after the departure of Lindsey Buckingham. The late eighties saw the band become a slick "hair band" with little to offer that was unpredictable. The set list from this 1988 concert filmed at San Francisco's Cow Palace sounds overproduced and anything but live. Moreover, the close-ups shots of Ms Stevie Nicks (that were redone months later after she was unhappy with her appearance) are downright comical. It's obvious they don't match the rest of the footage...What were they thinking. The long and senseless drum solo by Mick Fleetwood in "World Turning" is redundant and again, comical at best. Thank goodness, this wonderfal band redeemed itself with 1998's "The Dance" ( a much better buy). There is a God!! Skip this lemon and go for "The Dance"

Summary: The Mac abducted by aliens?
Review: This video reminded me of a lounge act trying to imitate fleetwood mac! I am a huge fan, seen them twice in concert. The overall feeling was that they were trying hard to get the concert over with. I do not know why they even bothered with "Dreams". It was very rushed. But "Gold Dust Woman" was excellent as per usual I must say. This concert did not seem "Live" though. I'm still Fleetwood Mac's #1 fan! I 've watched 'The Dance", "Stevie Nicks in Concert (1982)", Stevie Live at Red Rocks" and they are all sensational!

Summary: The Mac abducted by aliens?
Review: This video was like watching a band imitate "Fleetwood Mac". I've seen the Mac and Stevie live and both concerts were sensational. This concert seemed very rushed, like they couldn't wait to get finished. I don't know why Stevie even bothered with "Dreams". As a HUGE Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks fan, it was very obvious that this band needs the chemistry between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham to have that "magical" feeling. Christine did a great job. She was the star of this show.
