Summary: Fleetwood Mac - Tango In The Night
Review: I am a 20-plus year FM & Stevie Nicks fan. A true die-hard lover of this band. But, WHAT WAS THAT! The Stevie close-ups were way overdone, not to mention the Stevie hair! FM had to use two men to replace the irreplaceable Lindsey Buckingham, and to no avail, it just is not the same. Although these men are clearly talented, Lindsey, they are not. Stevie Nicks sounds as if her voice is synthesized on every song, and she rushes through, "Dreams" like she has some other very pressing engagement. Attention Fleetwood Mac fans: PASS ON THIS ONE.

Summary: I wish they would re-edit this video!!!!!
Review: I am perhaps one of the biggest Fleetwood Mac fans on the planet. So...coming from me, you know this is an honest review.....

I think the close-ups of Stevie were redone in a justifiably comfortable move for the era. This was the eighties, when "music video" was a really hot thing and MTV was still just a few years old. Still.....it takes away from the "live" performance in a very big way. This could have been a really, really cool concert to watch. I've always wondered if it were possible for them to go back to the beginning and start over with this video (as well as Stevie's Live at Red Rocks- also redone for close-up presentations) and just give us the raw material. Or---perhaps a DVD with bonus features which allow you to choose between the "live" LIVE perfomance and the made up one. The strange aftershots are distracting and really put a wall between you and the artist (Nicks).

When it comes to concert footage, we (the fans) don't care who looks or acts like they're a little "toasted" on stage. It was all a real part of the live entertainment at the time. Let's keep history accurate for Fleetwood Mac's concert performances. Having experienced it several times over the decades, it was ALWAYS a captivating experience, especially when it came to Stevie's haunting stage presence.

Mick is actually the most entertaining on the video and Burnette and Vito have their own distinct styles. They're GOOD, just not Lindsey.

Stevie! Fleetwood! Please give us a special treat and come out with some really good raw retro-concert footage. I KNOW you've got it!

Summary: Better without Buckingham
Review: I bought this video in 1994, I loved it. I love how the band seems like a whole unit. Buckinghams wild screaming, yelling, and stupidness was not missed. I do however regret that the whole concert was not filmed. "The Chain" was great, hardly could hear Christine. "Everywhere" was rockin, but Stevie should have chanted along with her back up singers, "Dreams" too fast, Stevie should ditch this song, I miss the softer side of this romantic song. "Seven Wonders" love the recorded version, could used more Christine and even Ricks powerful voice(which I could hardly here), "Isn't it Midnite" if they only recorded it that way...Stevie you should have been in the studio. "World Turning" was better than the live version of the late 70's and early 80's. "Little Lies" Stevie you play piano too and the song is simple on Piano, let Christine fron't this song, you f*ck it up.I'm a devoted Stevie Nicks fan too. "Oh Well" I fast forwarded this song Billy Burnett should have sand "sentimental Lady", "Gold dust Women" the best performance of this song ever."I loved another Woman" Rick Vito rocks. "Stand BacK" oh my God, this was the highlight of this video, even though it was a solo hit for Stevie. This version would have knocked it off of Billboards#5 spot, to # 1. "Songbird" Pretty and yet a tear jerker. I loved it. Where is FM performing "Don't Stop"? What is sad about this video is the absence of "Gypsy", "Brown Eyes", "Has anyone ever Written" and "Rhiannon"

Summary: vomit provoking
Review: I have never been a huge Lindsay Buckingham fan, but after watching/fast-forwarding this video I have a new found respect for the man. Fleetwood Mac is nothing but a third rate club band with the twin-like replacements rick and billy clouding the act. I find the two unendurable and am contemplating how to rid myself of this shameful display by may favourite band of all-time. Does anyone know how to copy over a write protected VHS?

p.s. the three Stevie VHSs available through amazon.com are all worth buying, especially "Stevie Nicks in concert 1982"

Summary: NOT THEIR BEST BUT WORTH BUYING
Review: I love Fleetwood Mac and think they are the greatest rock band and I even love Stevie's pop tunes from the eighties BUT this video is not their best. For starters nothing sounds live and all you see are air brushed closeups. You dont feel like your watching a concert. Stevie sounds flat if it is even her singing and not a pre recorded tape. This does have a few highlights though. I liked The Chain especially the heavy guitar at the end. The beginning of Stand Back was cool too but then you had a less than soulful vocal for the rest of the song. Most of all though this video totally sums up the bands eighties look and feel. The seventies are no where to be seen or heard on this video. It is still worth having for all FM fans out there. Anyone who wants to email me to discuss this-feel free!

Summary: It's About Time!!!
Review: I received the vhs version of this concert as a gift about 10 years ago, and have since worn out my copy. Despite the mostly poor reviews you'll see for this dvd, I love it! It was one of the first FM items I ever got, and I can't wait to see it on dvd, minus the lines and static on my vhs copy. My only complaint is that Warner Bros did not include some extra features, or even the full unedited concert for that matter. But any FM release is a good thing! Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope the Mirage concert or Tusk documentary are on their way...

Summary: Not That Great
Review: I would recommend skipping this one and buying the album "Tango In The Night" (which is a great album!) instead. The quality of this DVD is pretty good. As for the contents of this DVD... well...let's just say I laughed when I saw it. It's just not the same sans-Buckingham and where the heck is "Tango In The Night" (and yes...I know it's Lindsey Buckingham's song)!? I only keep this DVD for the Stevie Nicks songs. I think that maybe they should have released a different concert over this one. Skip this one.

Summary: Two for One
Review: I'll keep this brief. Fleetwood Mac is an awesome band, even when they're not at their best. It is important to note that it takes TWO lead guitarists (Billy Burnette and Rick Vito) to approximate the amount of music Lyndsey Buckignham makes by himself, and they don't equal it.
About the video:
The music is good - the vocals are good.
BUT
Where the heck is 'Tango In the Night'? The title cut from the album isn't in the concert! This is supposed to be the 'Tango In The Night' tour - and they didn't play it!
I'm confused...
