Summary: Better Than Being There
Review: First of all, Skynyrd is still a vital rock and roll band who put on an outstanding show. They provide a nice song selection on this DVD. The sound is fantastic on this disc. It is a lot better sounding than being there live. I thought the picture was a little grainy looking, especially on the darker sections. All in all, a must have for Skynyrd fans but probably better left alone for a casual fan of the band.

Summary: great concert
Review: For any Lynyrd Skynyrd fan, you should have this dvd. It is great. If you get a chance to see them live, it is worth it.

Summary: Great DVD
Review: I am a huge Lynyrd Skynyrd fan and the Lyve From Steel Town DVD is a must for all the fans. It is not the original Skynyrd but the band whips out hit songs without a glich in them. The 3 guitar attack on the album is killer, it has cameras on all members, and the sound and picture quality is great. If you want to jam out to some Skynyrd then this DVD is what you need to buy. I would reccomend it to anyone.

Summary: AMERICAN SPECTACL OF PURE ROCK'N'ROLL
Review: I have no words after I saw this concert,I can only imagine how impresion it left on the viewers. The singers, and all members of the band really knows their jobs. The best performance I ever saw in the last decade.

Summary: Hard Rock at its best Skynyrd lives on!
Review: I went to see the band a few months before the video came out. When I watched it, I was right back at the concert again. They really know how to put on a show.

Summary: Then and now, both great......
Review: I'm an olde farte who was lucky enough to see the original versions of Blackfoot, Outlaws, AND Skynyrd back when they were young and hungry, back in the early and mid '70s. And also more recently (mid '80s or so), before disco and rap and the other mindless modern garbage put these guys in the back room.

I was almost afraid to buy this DVD for a number of reasons -

no Ed King, Allan Collins, Ronnie Van Zant ...

Hughie without the Outlaws?

Rickie without Blackfoot?

No Green Grass and High tides, no Ghost Riders? no Highway Song?

I bought it, and it reintroduced me to the concept of a karma level. Oh, it's good. The older LS material is done right on the nose. Johnny is Ronnie, while still being himself. Hughie and Rickie meld in like they belong, and Rossington is still Rossington, the heart and soul of the band. And all these guys seem to really enjoy working together, no ego battles. That had to have been a little rough for Hughie and Rickie, being used to being main guys in their own groups.

Simple Man, Alabama, Freebird, Gimme 3 Steps, all were great. About the only quirk I noticed was that Hughie didn't quite duplicate Steve Gaines on That Smell - he was as good as he always is, but did it just a bit differently.

The high point of the set, tho, for me, anyway, was one of their newer songs, called Bring It On, which surprised the devil out of me. Probably because it was THEIR song, the new lineup's song, and not a intended duplicate of somebody else's song. Whatever, the three guitars absolutely cooked on this one, single, double and triple lead. Blew me away........

It's good........ the whole thing, it's good........

Summary: Deception
Review: I've earned this DVD 3 months ago cos I love this band ans splcially their last production Endangered species ,but this DVD have bad sound and the way the stage was filmed is very poor ,I hope they can do better. Long live Lynyrd Skyrnird.

Summary: Lynyrd Skynyrd: Lyve From Steel Town.
Review: If you are the real fan of the southern rock band ever, this DVD is just for you. I have the crave of seeing the band live myself since I first listened to "Free Bird" in their "One More From the Road" album. Yet, this DVD has almost fulfilled my dream. The sound of the 3-guitar attack in "That Smell", for example, shows how Gary Rossington could get along well with the 2 new guitarists to reproduce the "Skynyrd" sound throughout the concert. Overall, it is a "must" for Skynyrd fans who want to reminisce the sound of the old days through the high resolution and quality sound of DVD.
