Summary: Close in camera work on fret boards
Review: The close-in camera work on the fret boards of Buck Dharma and Alan Lanier are worth the cost of the DVD. Blue Oyster Cult's music is so dynamic that it's hard to capture in a recording. The songs are still great.

BOC's catalog is so strong; they could release 5 or 6 (or 7?) live DVDs without running out of awesome tunes.

This band tours like no other, so you're likely to get a chance to see them live in your area (except Phoenix). Take that opportunity. See Blue Oyster Cult and Ted Nugent at least once before you take leave of this mortal coil.

Summary: Rocking!
Review: This disc rocked! I bought the disc, played on my Denon in Dolby 5.1 and it rocked the house!..>The Video quality is excellent, except for some interesting camera cuts and the band never sounded better. Eric's voice is not as strong as it used to be, but overall I thought the mix was excellent, especially BD's guitar, which was on fire!.....A group of us had flashbacks to the good old days. Highly recommended on all fronts !

Summary: I expected better, but wasn't too disappointed.....
Review: Where to start???? This dvd does an ample job of covering their vast catalogue, but nothing from their finest album Mirrors? Come on! Their choice from the Cultasaraus Erectus album is probably one of the worst songs on that album. However for the amount of songs, you do get a bang for the buck (HA! no pun intended) as it's a pretty long show (2 hours!). Had I been there, I probably would've had a good time. Couldn't they have found some more attractive people (or younger even) when the cameras panned the crowd? Watching this made me feel pretty old. The interviews with band and fans alike were a bit uninspired, borderline unprofessional. I would expect documentary quality for a band of their stature, though Buck's quick chronology was kinda cool. Eric's in-between show banter almost sounded un- rehearsed and clumsy but they sounded great both sonically and musically. Buck Dharma's guitar playing still seems almost un-paralleled. The harmonies could've a been a bit more full, but I nitpick there. It was too bad the Bouchards couldn't have been involved along with more of their legendary signature shows. I saw them in SF with Rainbow in '85 I think...absolutely flawless.

All in all, I would recommend this dvd as long as you don't pay full retail. :-)

Summary: Music with Musicians WHAT A CONCEPT
Review: WOW This is a GREAT CONCERT for both Cultophiles and the uninitiated alike!!
If you like it LOUD and with five very talented musicians you are gonna love this one. I've been waiting a long time for these boys to do a live video recording and it was certainly worth the wait. The sound is very good and it is well edited.
There are no "bad tracks" the whole darn thing is pure Rock & Roll........... AMERICAN STYLE
The Only thing better is to go see 'Em LIVE
All I can add is....... BUY IT!
