Summary: Who Mixed the Sound? Yuk
Review: another great dvd of the best rock band in the world.
the only reason it does not get five stars is due
to mr. blackmores childishness as he spoils some
of the live tracks by messing instead of playing
as everyone knows he can and he also drags the
performance of the rest of the band down with him.
fortunately there is much more to this dvd and the
greater part of it is brilliant with stevs morse
bringing a new lease of life to the band.
this is a must for dp fans and for any who likes
rock music played at its very best.

Summary: A good chance "to see" and "enjoy" DEEP PURPLE
Review: Excellent ! What else can i say? Is a good chance to see -in superb quality- images lost in my mind.. the '84 reunion videos and concerts, the "Turner" era and the "new" D.P. with Morse.

Is good to see how Blackmore enjoyed that years with DP and why he and Jon Lord are really a masters.

Is amazing the excellent good quality of this production, but two tracks have a really "tremendous" good sound : "Bad attitude" and "Call of the wild" . Is superb! you can feel the difference from the previous tracks inmediatly.

Here you also have the chance to see how Gillan has been losing his voice and how right Blackmore was when he though they needed to replace the vocalist. Is really "sad" when after magnificent performances by Blackmore,Glover,Lord & Paice, Gillan starts to cry with his weak voice. It is really sad.

In few words : VERY GOOD AND ENJOYABLE . Please do not miss the chance to enjoy Deep Puple on DVD.

Summary: Great DVD!!
Review: For the last 35 years Deep Purple have been the real meaning of Hard Rock music. It was very difficult for me to get these DVD but when I finally bought it I thought that It would be one more in my DVD collection....But the great sound and the old-classics played with Steve Morse are very impressive. In some songs, the sound and the image are quite good, but for those Deep Purple lover's these details are not important. So, this is the only reason why a rate 4 stars instead 5 stars. Deep Purple members have done a very good job again...

Summary: Great, but more pre Morse Purple
Review: I bought this mostly for the Perfect Strangers video which has always been one of my all time favorite videos. There are a lot of good videos and live videos from the Perfect Strangers tour but not enough. I would have rather have seen more of the pre-Steve Morse Purple. Nothing against Steve, it is just I enjoy watching Ritchie Blackmore in action. He is so theatrical and over the top. His attitude is over flowing with over confidence and it makes for some exciting moments.

Summary: Deep Purple - New, Live & Rare
Review: I can't give it more then one star. All I have for a DVD player is an xbox, and the DVD would not play. I am sure that the video is great, I am a big, big purple fan. I was just disapointed that I couldn't see it. Maybe I will give it 5 stars when I get a chance to watch it.

Summary: Excellent stuff
Review: No Purple fan can afford to be without this DVD, especially if you're into the present Morse era. It contains stuff you might've seen before, like the, by now, well-known promo clips from the '80s, but also lots of rare live stuff. For some reason it has nothing from the "Battle Rages On" album at all; no clips, no live stuff. All the live footage is in excellent condition, making one hungry for the rest of these gigs. -Since these selected songs are here and available, I guess it's fair to assume that the whole of each of these shows were filmed. -Wouldn't it be great if they were released as well ?. In particular I would like to see the concert "Black Night" is taken from in its entirety. I already have the '85 Paris gig ("Gypsy's Kiss") from when it was televised originally, but it's actually the least interesting of them all because Gillan was in a terrible, almost non-existing, voice that night. There are some nice bonus features, like the rather disappointing collage of images from the recording of (the also disappointing) "Slaves & Masters" album in '90, and a truly rare video clip of "Under The Gun" from the '84 recording sessions. Legend has it somebody was making a documentary about Purple's reunion and the "Perfect Strangers" album, but I've never seen this finished documentary so I believe it didn't materialize at all. Instead we're all familiar with the title track promo clip, and now the fascinating "Under The Gun". -I wonder what took so long to dig that one out. Can't help but think what other celluloid-captured goodies must be laying around somewhere from those glorious days. All in all, an excellent collection of Deep Purple rarities and highly recommended.
