Summary: Ross had talent, shame about her diva personality!
Review: Yes, we all know that Diana, oh... excuse me, MISS ROSS is talented. She truly shines in this intimate jazz setting, lending her considerable vocal talents to a type of music she has mostly neglected throughout her long, long, looonng career. But despite how dazzling and glittery she may appear in this video, one cannot overlook her sour personality.

Diana should be ashamed of herself for the way she acts toward former band-mates Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong, not to mention the late Florence Ballard. MISS ROSS must always consider herself to be the ONLY Supreme being, and that is of course not true. I for one find it painfully difficult to watch her performances now that I know what an insufferable [word] she is in real life. Her behavior has ruined for me any enjoyment I may have once felt in hearing and watching her perform. Shame on you Diane, shame indeed!

Perhaps the recent nervous breakdown which led to the cancellation of most of her 2002 performance dates in the USA will prove that even Diana herself has had enough of MISS ROSS. If she never again graces the stage, then this video may well prove to be not only her shining moment, but her swan song.

It's a shame she couldn't have shared the stage one last time with The (real) SUPREMES without all the backstabbing and cat fighting that she instigated. What a waste of talent. Diana, your career was over long ago, and now that your true personality has surfaced so publicly and so negatively, I have one thing to say: give it up! You'll never again command the respect of your fans, and you'll never again in real life live up to the performance in this video.

FINAL NOTE: Daughter Rhonda's performance is painful to watch for different reasons. Her gay piano-playing "boyfriend" is cute, but Rhonda's over-the-top, unintentionally intentional impersonation of her mother is an embarassment. Listening to her "sing", it is obvious by her OVER-E-NUN-CEE-A-SHUN-A of every word that she has listened to far too many early Diana Ross records. The result sounds more like dictation than singing. The question is, did she listen to Ross records by choice, or was the Ross household so overly-bombarded with old records of MISS ROSS that poor Rhonda reacted like a helplessly trapped parrot by copying MISS ROSS's every sound? Whatever the reason, she is just AWFUL! Rhonda, don't quit your day job, whatever it is... and stop trying on Mommy's gowns when she's not looking. They'll never fit you, and hopefully neither will Mommy's personality!
