Summary: Crue still rocks, but I miss the old days
Review: I ordered this dvd just from the title alone. I hoped it would be a documentary and show the videos in between segements. Being a fan from the 80s who's been pretty disappointed with what's happened to the band in the past decade, I was sorely disappointed when I opened this to find it was a live show with a girl on drums.... I didn't give it a chance the first time I watched it. But later I felt the urge to watch it again, and it's really pretty good. Plus it includes 'Nobody Knows What It's Like to be Lonely' which is a song fans always heard about back in the day that was never released. So my vintage craving was somewhat satisfied. There are some moments in this concert that I feel like the band is merely a shadow of its old self, and other moments where they still make you want to jump up and do an air-guitar solo. Buy this, and also buy the book 'The Dirt.' Both are worth the money, and the more we support the band, the more stuff they can put out. It'd be cool to get the whole video collection with maybe some extras. I know there are millions of fans out there like myself, who loved the Crue when they were young and wild, but kind of lost interest as the band declined and changed so much. I still want the original line-up and a new album that's so good it goes straight to number one. Are those days over? Maybe, but I guarantee it won't happen unless we keep supporting them. So to all of you who kept them going through the 90s, Thanks. I'm glad that at least some version of the band is still going. Hopefully, Tommy will come back and this will be like what happened with Kiss. Come on, Crueheads. Buy every Crucial Crue re-release. Buy the dvd. Buy the book. Show your support, or don't claim to be a fan when they get huge again.

Summary: Not a wild Crue show like they used to do
Review: I was really hoping that I would get an awesome show here. I mean, they say on the box that it has crystal clear sound and a super picture quality. Only thing "I" did not notice was the year the show was shot. The concert was shot in Salt Lake City last year (2000). That was my first disapointment. Then, I realized that since it's a recent concert, there would not be any Tommy Lee. He's not there either. The person drumming is a girl, and from what Vince Neil says, she was replacing Randy Castillo who was sick at the time. She does a very good job on drums, her only weak point is that she does not have the mammoth shots of a Tommy Lee or a Scott Travis. But she's good and you'll actualy appreciate her drumming. Vince Neil does his best at entertaining and singing. He still has a pretty good voice, but he searches for breath from times to times(he can't sing Dr. Feelgood anymore, so the crowd has to fill in for him...). Our favorite bass player still runs around and play very well, and Mars on guitar is still sharp even though he makes a few mistakes from time to time. So, for the sound quality, the general ambiance of the concert, the quality of the performance and the choice of songs, I give this DVD 3 stars. Since it's Motley Crue, I love them, and they put a couple of neat extras on the DVD, I give an extra star for the "Motley attitude" and "Motley Fun".

Summary: WHY? WHY? WHY?
Review: Why did Motley Crue release their first live DVD without Tommy Lee? This is sacrilege! I know damn well that there is footage of all of the live shows from the beginning to the end with Tommy Lee. I would have personally put together a comprehensive DVD from all the past tours featuring Tommy. If I was him (Tommy), I would consider this DVD a massive kick in the teeth and ass! A girl playing drums for the Crue is such an insult. Samantha just does not have the flash, charisma, and nowhere near the power that Tommy has. Fortunately, for me I saw the Greatest Hits Tour a few years ago with Tommy and it was great! Since the Crue were intent on "giving it" to Lee they should have atleast had a little mercy on him and atleast put out the DVD with Randy on it. I guess it shows where their heads are at, hell they could not even wait for Randy to get better, they had to screw him too! Well, as bad a wrap as I am giving the guys I am glad that they put the damn thing out. I still enjoy watching Vince, Nixxi and Mick jam and I just have to try hard, very hard, very very very hard to pretend what it would be like to see Tommy behind the drumkit. The special features are nice, the video and sound are great but it only gets 2 ** because the "THUNDER GOD" Tommy Lee is not on it.

Summary: Motley Crue Heaven
Review: I just received the Motley Crue DVD and it rocks. The picture and sound are crystal clear and shot, movie like in letter box format. As with any live concert it takes a few songs for the band to warm up and this one doesn't disappoint. A true gem for any DVD collection, "watch Mick Mars tear down the house, slide on Mick". Tommy Lee is not drumming on this but Samantha Maloney from Hole fills in well. I will be rockin to this DVD the rest of my life and after that too. Long Live Motley Crue, Nicki, Vince, Mick and Samantha, Thank You for a great piece of work...and if you don't buy this you are not a true Motley Crue fan...

Summary: Crue Delivers - But We Need More
Review: What a totally awesome concert DVD. Widescreen anamorphic brings the entire stage to life. You ARE at the concert. The Crue are up to their usual tricks: flashpots, explosions and Girls, Girls, Girls!! A feast for the senses. All of the favorites are there: Shout at the Devil, Dr. Feelgood and the list goes on. Samantha (from the group Hole) drums up a storm. She could give Tommy Lee a run for the money. A little disappointing is that the concert seems abnormally short and no encore performance. Boo!! The extra stuff is pretty cool. Get treated to an audio-only track of the Crue's first ever recording! Some cool backstage stuff and more. This DVD screams out for a Special Edition: More interviews, longer concert and UN-censored. Basically the Crue needs an R-Rated Edition. But, you will not be disappointed. A MUST for the Crue fan!!

Summary: could of had more on it, but it's still live crue!
Review: I'll be brief... it's live crue! The band sounds great. The picture is good and the sound is top notch as well. The extras on the disc could have been a bit more in depth, but I'm a cruehead I wanna see that kind of stuff. The audio of "nobody knows" is so cool. It's a shame they didn't include a cd single with the dvd. If you are a cruehead get this dvd! it's gonna be a while before they are back out on the road, and this will be great to hae to pass the time until they come back out to kick rock's butt again! long live the crue!

Summary: Not As Lewd As I Wanted...
Review: Don't get me wrong, this DVD rocks! BUT, the black bars and blurs over the nudity in the audience was disappointing. This is Motley F'n Crue!! Don't cover those up!!! All in all, the music rocked, even without Tommy Lee and Randy Castillo. If they were trying to capture a 100% Motley show, they missed it by 10%. That 10%, of course, being boobies. :-)

Summary: "Motley Rockin' Crue"
Review: I have been a Crue fan for over 10 years. They just keep getting better with age! It was great to see them do their hits as well as songs from their album "New Tattoo". Samantha Maloney fit in great on drums! That girl can rock! I am glad that they included a new video! It was very hot!!!!

Summary: Average but worth it for diehard Crue fans
Review: This DVD has the right idea of being shot in widescreen and dolby surround audio. The sound and picture are outstanding. The problem is with what you do hear (or don't hear cause Vince doesnt sing half the words) and see (an incomplete Motley Crue). I guess this is something to throw into your dvd player now and then if you're a Crue fan, have had a few beers and are just kicking back. Samantha from Hole does a respectable job on drums but its not the same at all without Tommy Lee. I also wonder why they choose Salt Lake City to film this, and why they edited the flashing girls, that just doesnt seem like Motley Crue. Some of the songs really rocked but the whole thing just didn't have that Motley edge to it I was expecting. I did find myself really interested in the additional footage, It would've been nice to see a lot more candid backstage stuff, or too hear more from Mick. By the way, anyone really interested in the real story of the band should read The Dirt, their book. It is outstanding and really blew me away. You get a lot of very deep insight into the lives of these four crazy misfits. Also for you people who complain about Mick's lack of stage energy on this dvd, you learn he has some kind of back disease which makes it extremely hard for him to be active. Anyway, I give it 3 stars.. I'd love to see them bring Tommy Back and make another live one of a greatest hits show or something.
